I know what you mean. I am sick to death of kryptis, and grinding for obsidian armor. I will NEVER go back to that expansion again once my armor is done. Not happening.
The fact they're pretty much reskinned versions of other mobs doesn't help either. But seeing that Janthir Wilds tackles White Mantle remnants gives me some hope. I think they are some what under utilised. I sincerely hope the story is stronger, and that they don't add dumb quaggan type things again. Why does every new area need a bootleg quaggan?
I wouldve love kryptis but a lot of things felt rushed. Albeit its their first release of their new expansion system. They did say that they noted a lot of data from this and will implement a more flushed out content in consideration.
@@TheScrootch lmao i never really thought about it but yea there are a bunch of reskinned quaggan architypes xD those weird little kryptis, the choya are kinda the same vibe
You actually struck a chord with me when talking about player housing and you're right. I like it because of OSRS when I used to play it, I loved that you could build your own house with different activities and such in them it was awesome. Same with games like Oblivion, it's adds a layer of immersion to the world, I'm excited for it. I do hope we get to move to different biomes or cities in the future though, but as a foundation it's amazing. Also yeah the core maps are really well made, I'm always surprised at how immersive they are when I go back to them, always seem to find something I've never found before, they're great.
Another Queensdale enjoyer here, I even sometimes practice bettle racing with invented tracks there hah PS: 10:59 - The legendary Golden Pearl! They say is a blessed ship that only comes out in dark, gloomy places to shed some light into them and guide the lost to the light!!!
I think the floating island concept of SoTo was interesting at first but it gets old. But it's good there exists an expansion that does that to make flying more meaningful and it's some variety. I'm guessing with the Warclaw we are getting a more land based expansion with mountain regions to climb/scale and jump around on the warclaw. I'm also guessing the metas will have a lot of walls to siege.
ive heard a lot of ppl theorize about walls to seige with the warclaw and gotta say i really hope they dont do that. Even worse, it seems like something arenanet would do, unfortunately. Spamming fireball on skyscales and cannons on turtles during events really kills the momentum for me and I really do not find it enjoyable.
I enjoy playing in the open world and going through the story with my many toons. And yes, the old world is still nice for that. SotO introduced some interesting map ideas, but they didn't hold up as long os other maps in my opinion. The music of the base game is in large done by Jermy Soule. After that Macleine Diemer took over as lead composer - with many other composers contributing as well. The SotO soundtrack is not on the top of the list when I rank the expansions, but I like the the HoT and EoD soundtrack very much.

if u enjoy the grind so much, can i give u my account so u can do all my legendaires for me? you know...since u like it so much id love for you to have more fun!!! hahaha jkjk
SOTO felt like a whole living world season. Also- I'm happy for player housing, but it worries me... the game doesn't need it- you can already customize your guild halls. the player housing sounds tacked on as a way to get casual players interested in the new expansion. GW2 doesn't have the advantage of using a new, higher level to entice people to stay and play, so they're getting desperate to bait the hook with something. i'm worried because it sounds like they're running out of ideas.
Just pure speculation, but I think Guild Wars 3 will basically be Guild Wars 2 with a new coat of paint, kinda like how Overwatch 2 is just Overwatch 1 but with updated graphics and a few other changes. I don't think ANet is capable of making a new game after all their other failed background projects, but a future overhaul of GW2 including a much needed graphics rework might be possible for them
this seems to be a sentiment I see around relatively often, but personally I don't think they should spend a bunch of development on that. I kinda enjoy the old-school aesthetic, and it doesn't even look that old school to me, especially if you max out the graphics settings it looks pretty nice. performance on the other hand could be better and they have been working on that and making decent progress over the last few years. but yeah I'm not playing gw2 for cutting edge graphics and ray tracing shaders lol
Yeah the stylization definitely helps the game look good even without a big graphics overhaul. I personally am fine with how the game looks now, but I get where people are coming from. Stylized games like WoW, OW, RS3 have all undergone significant graphical changes over the years and they look really good since they focused on refining their style rather than going for graphical realism

I am the same type of player. I like to explore and do dynamic events etc. I also did not like SotO's maps.
Queensdale and Wayfarer Foothills are some of my favorite areas in the game.
SOTO was copy pasta, and seems very short if you play it all the way though
Even hot maps graphically is better n music too thn soto.

This game needs a graphics rework😅
