    Many times you'll get people contacting you because they want to sell their car. It's your job to prep the car so the selling process can be easier for the owner.
    My typical recommendations to someone would be to clean their engine, interior, and a wash. These will be the most important parts that someone will pay attention too.
    Also, if their headlights are foggy/hazy, then that's also a great service to recommend. Remember, you're there to add value to the vehicle by making it look better.
    The better you can make it look, the easier or more money the owner can ask for.

    Tip for the cover... fold the sides up over the top of the car. Then starting at the hood, roll the cover up over the roof all the way to the trunk. Then you can put the smaller cover somewhere safe. When ready to install...Put it back on the trunk and unroll to the hood and let the sides down. Minimizes movement on the paint! 👍🏻. Great video!

    I finally did a Full Cleaning of my Interior of my Obs 2000 Tahoe Limited. I used up 12 microFiber Clothes, it took forever. Never cleaned the interior, so you can imagine how dirty it was especially on the panels. Still need to clean the leather seats and carpet. I used SUDZBox Absolute, diluted it 20:1 for interior/plastic. What is your input on using products like Sudzbox or Chemical Guys?? Do you think it makes a difference then buying simple green? I'm not a pro at detailing as you are, this was my first time. Is it with the money to use cleaning products or can you get good results with decent store brands? Thank you for going into detail with your videos and walking us with your cleaning steps. Sure gave me a push to clean my truck.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому

      To be honest, you can great results with most of those products. You have to be frequent before you get good. I buy Super Clean locally and dilute it 10:1 and I get amazing resultsl

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому

      You cannot remove the backing plate on the 3". You will either need a dual action polisher like the GG6 or even the PC. If not then, then perhaps a drill with a brush attachment

I just goose the gun a little .This blows all the junk out ,you have to have a towel or two to catch the over spray.I like to go back with some Meguairs spray wax for some shine and pop.What APC do you use on the engine bay please? Your best tool for learning new processes testing new products without too much risk is to use your own vehicle.
      If it ends up looking great you can show your customers.
      Failing that go to a breakers yard a buy yourself a hood or trunk lid to practice on.

    Groove, nice video! Question on the APC. If your using a degreaser diluted, have you notice (stiff carpet (when dry) after stain removal) vs a designated apc that has fabric softeners built in like d101.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому

      I haven't used a Degreaser in years on carpet, but yes, I do believe it will stiffen up the carpets more

    I really like watching cleaning videos, kind of calms down my ocd, hahah. But your car cleaning vids are so good, definitely giving some good tips for when I want to do some cleaning of my own. Not particularly about to open a car detailing business. I only have one question, sorry if it might sound dumb - if I wanted to wash my own engine bay but I am not 100% familiar with everything that's in the engine bay, should I just not clean it myself and just let someone else do it?
    As far as using actual water and some solutions. I am really terrified to go overboard or have water go on something or somewhere where it shouldn't lol.

      Haha, thanks for the kind words. I would say if you're kind of worries or scared or hesitant, then litereally use like 9 towels, and wipe everthing down. That's it. It'll take a while, the results won't be as great, but it will help you break the ice

    Hey, I'm new to this channel but I can't be bothered not to comment on the quality of this job. You mentioned customer so I'm assuming you own a detailing business, but as long as I'm not missing something - this car isn't as clean as I'd expect as a customer. Looking through 12:10, the seat tracks are heavily contaminated, the rug on the right side is heavily dusted. Looking at 12:17, the cupholder still has stains on it and there are hidden dust particles inside the cracks under the gearbox. The seats at 12:26 still have stains on them and you even mentioned you missed a spot on the handbrake on 12:42.
    I like your videos, but it seems like this job was done in a hurry and not super clean like you usually do. Would love an input from you. Cheers.

      jasen ratnam there's good money in auto detailing, just that you got to have a good amount of clientele & pricing also you can invest with other companies or opening multiple detail shops.

    Oscar! No mames! Awesome job on the detail! Questions around the APC you use? By the color I'm guessing you're using Meguiar's APC, correct? For the door jams, trunk jams, engine cowling, engine bay and interior, did you use the APC at 4:1 concentration? Excellent work!

    180 for 5 hours. I wouldn't pay that if the car is hardly dirty. If I had stains and a gritty carpet plus everything else, than, yes. Otherwise, no. BUT you are in the business to Serve Customers and Good Customers pay for Good Service, no matter the duration of the job, what's important is Trust & Value
