One thing I look for when subscribing is after I watch the video then get asked to subscribe, yes very nice project, thank you for your content! God bless you
Very nice idea! I am looking forward to making these for my wife's book club members - they'd love it! And we're all at the age where we need to wear reading glasses so that little nook is perfect 🙂
Hi, these are great products we make them in the UK and they sell really well. We make four different designs and own the design rights to sell and make them UK only. We make these and other products through Oakinc.❤
A great idea! Perfect for craft fairs. I just did one and wasn’t the right venue for my higher end art pieces. This however would probably have sold well. I’d like to take it a step farther and add an edge at the bottom to hold a Kindle or iPad . Now you’d have all your bases covered. Excellent presentation young man 👍🏼👍🏼
I've only been at it a little over a year, and jumping around a lot, so the subs have been hit and miss. This is the type of content that I've been wanting to focus on, and I felt like this video would do well, but it's taken off more than I thought it would. Don't worry, after the success of this type of video, and considering it's the type of content that I'd rather be making, I'll be making many more in this area. My subs have jumped over 1,600 since posting this video, so it's obvious that this is the type of content I should be focusing on. Appreciate the support!
Probably the best and easiest of life hacks I’ve ever seen. Simple but extremely useful. Thanks for sharing this, I’m going out to get some nice hardwood now and there’s no prize for guessing what my friends will be getting for their birthday gifts. Brilliant.
I'm so glad I found ur channel in the last couple of years. I have been doing crafts from simple key chains to woodworking or carving. Love that u explain how u made it. Can't wait to c other video's! Happy new year & thanks for sharing. Stay well!!
I made a prototype of one out of scraps the other day, and decided it looked good enough to practice my finishing on. Much like your experience, I posted it on my personal Facebook page and someone wanted the prototype within a hour of posting, and I had a couple of orders within a few hours, just among my friends, not on my business page. I was totally surprised by the interest on it just within a few hours. Now here I am looking for inspiration and add ons I haven’t thought of and hear the exact same thing I experienced just earlier today lol.
It’s funny because I hate the cliche thumbnails “why isn’t everyone making these” but just like you said, as soon as I made it, people started wanting it. I’m actually working on a new Video with some upgrades, like a lip to hold a tablet, a place to mount a pen or highlighter, a page spreader, and an actual drawer that goes inside of the triangle.
@@SothpawDesigns I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I thought of maybe adding an eye hook or small dowel from the top of the front to hang a pair of readers, and I also put some small felt furniture pads on the bottom of the one going out tomorrow.
Hey man, first time coming across your channel. I've never seen one of these but I liked it immediately, and thought "gee, I could use one of those". I've only just discovered woodworking and I really appreciate guys like you who take the time to walk through how it's made. This is a great project that is right at my speed. Definitely gunna try to make one this weekend man. Thanks again!
What a cool little project. Hoping to get more home based part time work by expanding my wood projects (cutting out some of the firewood, shoulders won't last forever) and being home more often so we can travel too. Thanks, Bruce
I am having trouble with the angles coming out. Seems like I set my saw correctly but there’s always a gap. Which means I probably didn’t set my saw correctly. I’ll keep messing with it. I love the project!
Nice project that I want to try attempting - I don't have CNC but have basic woodworking tools. To recap the base is 12" x 4" and the tall pieces are 7" x 5.25" . Am I right or missing something? Thanks in advance.
That’s pretty much it. Cut the angles properly, and if there is any overhang on the sides, you can leave it, or sand, or use a small plane to smooth it off. The CNC/laser is nice for advanced shapes or engraving, but not necessary
Thanks for another great video. Now that Christmas is over could you do a video on what to make and sell now? Also, we are practically neighbors. Im in Jeffersonville, IN lol
I've come across this video but passed it up a couple of times. I finally watched it and I am so glad I did. First off, I subscribed. Secondly, your explanation is excellent and you providing measurements and walking through, step by step how you make this is also a bonus. Yes it's simple but the most simple things can be the nicest and most profitable. I like the pricing structure and the free engraving. I have an X-Tool pro 40 w so that will make quick work of the engraving. Thanks again and good luck with your channel!!
Yup, several people have offered little suggestions like that. I'm going to make a followup video with some upgrades that can easily be added, such as that, a drawer that can be added, and a pencil/pen holder.
Such a simple idea helped my nephew Make one for his girlfriend a couple of years ago and she loved it. Just wished I had a laser to personalize them. That’s a great touch.
I made some for. Christmas for family. My problem is 1) no planer 2) no table saw-I used a miter saw 3) I used pallet wood which was very uneven. I made them work and I actually use mine a lot. I made a jig to cut angles on miter saw but next time I would go with hardwood. Thanks for sharing
I really like this idea. I just bought a CNC and it's still not put together yet. The 40W laser was backordered and should be here in a week or so. Once I learn and get good at it, I'd like to make one of these for my daughter. I imagine people putting these on their night stand. So, the only thing I might do different is instead of the round part being for a coffee cup, I might put a flat/round phone cordless phone charger there. I know I sleep next to my phone and use it as a back up alarm incase the electricity goes out. Thanks for the video and great idea.
I wish I could share. I made that same project, but added a bit more pizzazz to it. If only I could shoot you a picture. It would be nice to have someone who could appreciate what I made.
I've seen several different woodworkers use a similar gig and clamping the pieces to have that 22.5° angle cut on the ends of them like that. So, if it's a 'bad idea', you're in good company at least.
Speaking as a (potential) customer, I was unaware of this style book caddy until I bought one for my mother for Christmas off of Etsy, I forget exactly whom. Hey, sellers: This is a bonafide product that should be a quick little money maker once you have your jigs made up.
I wholeheartedly agree. It's a simple project with a lot of possibilities. The thumbnail "Why Isn't Everyone Making These?" seems a little cliche, but when I made it, that was my honest response. It's a great project.
You're not the first one to mention that. I teach high school and some of my sales came from a few English teachers (go figure), and they mentioned that exact thing. This weekend, I'm going to be launching a new video with some upgrades that several viewers have mentioned, that being one of them.
Omg I just love the ease with which you use your tools. My husband has just retired and he loves woodwork but unfortunately we don’t have any space to set him up. I want him to join the local “Men’s Shed “ and want to buy him some sort of saw/tool to get him started. Can anyone suggest what would be the best thing to buy him to get him going. Thank you 👏❤️🇮🇪
The first tool that I started with was a table saw. Very versatile and able to make multiple jigs to accomplish many tasks. Here's what I use. amzn.to/3RFPOwE

I always wait to watch your next videos, great, thanks
A nice, clean, concise and well presented video, zero fluff, no overbearing music, no unnecessary filler content..
👌
Oh, and the project is cool too
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate it.
@genelomas332 the idea is to have an item to sell
I just made 3 of these in a simpler version! No cup holder just the 3 sided stand. My daughter and 2 grandkids loved them.
They're so simple. I never thought I'd like doing this so much.
Wonderful!
This is such a unique and fantastic gift for those who still love turning pages in a book. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome! This wasn't my original idea, but I did put my own spin on it. Thanks for watching.
Well done
Brilliant! Will definitely be making some of these!
Hi, these are great products we make them in the UK and they sell really well. We make four different designs and own the design rights to sell and make them UK only.
We make these and other products through Oakinc.❤
Thank you. This is exactly what I am working on. I am excited about the shifts I am feeling already. 🙏
I like that it's got the built in coaster.
Class. I will give this a go this week. Thanks very much, man.
Love from Ireland
A great idea! Perfect for craft fairs. I just did one and wasn’t the right venue for my higher end art pieces. This however would probably have sold well. I’d like to take it a step farther and add an edge at the bottom to hold a Kindle or iPad . Now you’d have all your bases covered. Excellent presentation young man 👍🏼👍🏼
An added addition would be to mill out a small pocket for the cup to sit into which would make it more secure.
42K views within 3days and only 15.2K followers, pretty unfair, glad I randomly found you. Love it

Outstanding idea. I make the basic triangle but this is my new project, Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

That's awesome. I appreciate that. I didn't invent the idea, but put my own spin on it. I'm glad it's so useful for you.
What a perfect idea, a simple yet very usable item, I believe these will do well on my 2024 craft show season
Awesome! I hope they do!!

Daaaaaaaaaaang! A beautiful, SIMPLE project! Thanks for the idea!
Glad you like it! I can't take credit for the idea, I just put my own spin on it.
Brilliant. Thanks for being concise. I’m your newest fan and have subscribed
Thank you!!
My first watch on your channel! I’m a fan now! Great job
Welcome aboard!
Beautiful simple project! And love your practical instruction. Thanks for getting right to the good stuff and being clear with how to build it
Thank you. Glad you like it.
😲 Kool!
Don't forget to say made in USA! 🇺🇲
😲Thanks for Sharing I'm thinking about making one for myself!
Genius little project!
Thanks Garrett. Enjoy your work! Learned a great deal from you over the past couple of years!
This is great and has been on my to make list for a while. Thanks for posting a simple how to to make it even easier!!
Merry Christmas!!!!
Thank you! It was fun and simple, I recommend it highly.
What a cool little project. Hoping to get more home based part time work by expanding my wood projects (cutting out some of the firewood, shoulders won't last forever) and being home more often so we can travel too. Thanks, Bruce
You can do it!
Blessings, from this old man in northeast Tennessee. Brilliant design & build.
Thank you!! Not my original idea. I saw something similar and decided to tweak it and make it my own
I’ll say this man God bless you for sharing your idea to help others make money. Bless you brother !
Thank you.
I just bought a cnc machine and I’m going to try out this simple project and see how it goes! Thanks for idea!
Cool
Ingenious in it's simplicity...Thanks.
Thank you
Great job and project thx for sharing enjoyed it looks great Keep building God Bless
Thank you. This was a fun one!
that is an amazing project. My wife wants one now
Lol, I just send this video to my husband's phone!
Love it!!
I can already see me over-engineering this darn thing and making it harder than it needs to be. Perfect Imperfections... That's me!
I've made some of these. I leave one side of the base a little wider so I can cut a groove in it to also turn it into an IPad stand/holder.
Good idea. A couple of people have mentioned that.
As a reader, I think this is brilliant!!!!
Appreciate it. Not my original idea, but I put my own spin on it
Cool project!
Thanks!
I am having trouble with the angles coming out. Seems like I set my saw correctly but there’s always a gap. Which means I probably didn’t set my saw correctly. I’ll keep messing with it. I love the project!
I am definitely going to try making this! Thanks for sharing your idea!!
I like this project a lot. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge!
You’re welcome!!
Great design, thank you for sharing.
Outside of a dog, a book is Man's best friend......Inside a dog, it's too dark to read. Samuel Clemens.
BAHAHAA!!
One of my favorites quotes!
😂😂😂
I read this quote in a Groucho Marx book.
You should bet one of those little, battery-operated reading lights.
Thank you for the great tips!! Now to attempt my first book holder!
Good luck!!
Congratulations On your successful project !
Thank you!!
Great design - nice workmanship
Thank you very much!
Nice project that I want to try attempting - I don't have CNC but have basic woodworking tools.

Thanks for the idea. I was thinking about different ways to engrave my poetry an this will be a awesome thing to do.
Thanks for another great video. Now that Christmas is over could you do a video on what to make and sell now? Also, we are practically neighbors. Im in Jeffersonville, IN lol

Goad you enjoyed it. This is such a simple project, but one that's SO easy to make.
Great idea. This could be easily made to be multi functional simply by making the base slightly wider and adding a groove to hold my tablet.
Yup, several people have offered little suggestions like that. I'm going to make a followup video with some upgrades that can easily be added, such as that, a drawer that can be added, and a pencil/pen holder.
This is the first video of yours I have seen. It is a great video, and good project. Keep it up.
Thanks.
Awesome content mate, I'll have to make this one for my other half. Cheers mate , thanks for sharing.

Great idea 💡
Thank you for sharing your knowledge & wisdom!!!
Not so much knowledge and wisdom as it is trial and error, but I appreciate the compliment.
Nice gift
Good creative project
Another great project!! I will definitely be making this one for my wife. Thank you for continuing to make great videos.

Great project! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I absolutely love this! Subscribed and liked!!!
Awesome. Thank you so much!!
Brilliant...greetings from NZ
Many thanks! It wasn't my original design, but I took a photo that I'd seen and made my own adjustments and improvements.
Thanks for your detailed, yet succinct explanation of how to make this clever and simple bookstand. New sub here!
Awesome, thank you!
Merry Christmas Sir
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you too!

This is really great! Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Shawn and friends!!
Nice. I had this thought rather than a coffee cup pad perhaps an inlay for a pencil/ marker holder. One in every crowd huh?
You're not the first one to mention that. I teach high school and some of my sales came from a few English teachers (go figure), and they mentioned that exact thing. This weekend, I'm going to be launching a new video with some upgrades that several viewers have mentioned, that being one of them.
I enjoyed your no frills video. Just down to earth and a pretty cool idea for those book worms out there! I'll be trying this. Thank you.
Thank you..
Simply...AWESOME. 👍🇬🇧🇬🇪🙋🏼♂️.subscribed
Thank you! I'm going to be doing a series of these small projects in the coming months. Keep an eye out.
That is an awesome project! Thanks!
Glad you like it!
Real......🔥🔥🔥🔥......Awesome.....I gotta get on those for easy diy projects for my Readers this way Northern Arizona.......!!!!!
This has become a very popular project. Easy to do, and such a customizable, fun project.
If you widened the base a little for a lip at the bottom on one side, it’d be great as a tablet holder. There are a lot of e-book readers.
Yup, a couple of people have mentioned that. Thinking about making a follow up with some variations that have been suggested.
What a great idea!!
I think so too! I saw it online and decided to give it my own twist.
Thanks for sharing this great idea. I wish I could come up with a new idea and it be that nice!
Can't say that I invented the concept. I saw something like it, then tried to tweak it a little to put my own spin on it.
Love this 👍
I’m not in woodworking, but this looks epic! Great stuff man!
Thanks Chris
Sorry. Chrys.

Very nice ! Cool stuff , sell at colleges and schools..
