Thanks for the info Bob. My question is where to access the fill port for the lubrication oil? Is it next to the screw adjustment at the top of the housing?
i have a 1950 chev 3100 truck when i am driving it and go over a bump it goes all over the place. front end is tight how do i adjust the steering box. thanks. or what do you think it could be.
Could be any number of things, shockes etc. I am not familar with the 3100 steering box but most old boxes have a screw in the top plate to take up some slack. if its original it most likely needs rebuilt.
Great video
Nice work BYB. Very well explained.

@@bluedog373 thanks!!
Where are you finding parts and seals? My 50 Merc leaks like crazy and I can’t find bearings and seals anywhere.
I got parts from Mac's and Shoebox Central

How do you remove the tube assembly and lower bearing race?
If you replace the lower race you have to sacrifice the tube and plate. Knock it out, replace the race, install new tube/plate.
Once the tube is out does the race come out from the bottom or the inside?
