Just received my first Protech knife in the mail an hour ago. Got it from Blade HQ for National Knife Day which was yesterday. It's a Runt Sprint J4. Free Blade HQ T-shirt too. Very pleased with the knife, and Blade HQ's customer service. Great video thanks.
Would love one of those PT autos if they had a safety. I know some people say a safety's not necessary, but I've had more then one of my autos come open in my pocket.
1:40 What is the reason for the pivot being so very far back on the handle on this model? My Lionsteel SR-2 has less than a centimetre of handle in front of the pivot center.
Autos are illegal in Canada, and even though you can use it manually there is still a firing switch so it's definitely not legal. You could try to pass it off as a manual and you might be able to fool a few people but I wouldn't risk it. Any sort of close inspection makes it apparent that it is an auto.
neonightkiller I meant mine is literally the same, part for part. The problem is that is was supposed to be part of a limited run of only 200. I'm also basically warning anyone interested in one that the fit and finish is spotty. It has large seems, the insets are uneven and have odd gaps, and it runs on washers that are paper thin.
I bought mine from BladeHQ before Christmas. It is stamped No.41 of 200 and it is perfect in every way. I own two of the original Harkins to compare it to and this is the same excellent quality. Many Protech models have no washers and perform flawlessly. These are collector items if you can find one.

Harkins double action is out-of-stock.... damn it.
The one shown was never in stock and they don't have it listed.
Dave rocks! Thanks for the rockeye sheath.
Very elegant knives.
Love to get a Pro-Tech PT Strider auto but any thoughts to a manual version to be legal

A Strider auto! Awesome! Would love a full titanium version of that model.
Mind-Aker Knives they already make a sng auto. I think this pt might be in my future.
@david sandlin I'll have to check out that SNG too! Unfortunately, I'm not really supposed to have an auto here in CA :)
Very nice knives!

Is the Harkins D/A legal in Canada ?

Say Heah, I have an older Goffather, I just wish it had a safety. ,, .
what type of blade steels are used ???
Benito de heer They tend to use 154CM on a bunch of their knives..
Benito de heer they primarily use 154cm
calmigo! for all us California guys who are restricted to 2 inch autos
Lost me when you ask the price of a pistol.
that first one is not new. I own it. the quality is sub par.
He said it was a variation of a knife made a number of years ago and is being reintroduced. Obviously it's going to be much better than the gen 1.

Thank for the heads-up.

Not a fan of Strider I think the fit and finish just isn't there
nice to hear real English -- pants are not trousers
