Thanks for these Danny. One of these days the dice gods may favor Epic Adventure Miniatures. To say that it is tough to compete in this community as an artist is an understatement for sure. The promo around 17:46 was a response to sampler STL Patreons. Where in most cases the STL Sampler would ask the artist to donate several sculpts for "exposure" and then do very little of it. In some cases the Samplers would require the artist to pay a monthly subscription to have the option of participating in the sampler. Quite often the sampler does not provide a link back to the artist and very little information if any is divulged about the artist. When we questioned the people running the sampler as to how this benefits the artist the response was usually the artists knew what they were getting into. So a collective of independent artists took it upon ourselves to try and promote each other without asking the artist to pay for a subscription or donate a sculpture. Just using our human capital to share the spotlight with other artist's work that we admire. Much like what you have done with this series. A quick shout for Dragon Workshop, who has a very reasonable Patreon and is systematically making the terrain and buildings for Curse of Strahd in addition to generically useful terrain, buildings and minis. I'm probably going to have to shell out on DriveThruRPG for the back-catalog items like Death House. Might need Aether Studio's "Atzlan" set. One of the Patreon tabletop designers I currently support (Archvillian) released a sweet Egyptian/Sekmet themed set for June, and those temple terrain bits would be mighty handy for running a tomb-crawl. Also, I'm considering Goon Master, not for my table with my friends, but for my nieces and nephews (and godchildren), who I've been teaching simplified 5e. I think the stylized, cuter minis would not only be great for the kids in terms of style, but the chunky shape would mean they'd be a little more durable, especially if FDM printed with higher infill. Plus, having the minis on the table with a grid makes it a lot easier for kids to conceptualize distance in combat.

A piece of advice that I can give these model makers, learn how to sculpt for fdm. I'm not saying they should exclusively sculpt for fdm, but at least offer some minis that can be printed with fdm. I don't even bother looking on patreon or kickstarted because I know it's all going to be stuff that can only really be printed with a resin printer and I haven't taken that plunge yet, and sure there are a lot of others like me.
As a design engineer I think it's always good practice to design for largest population, if you can design for FDM then you'll hit a larger market. Plus they will be good for SLA, if you can get away without supports(FDM) it should be good for SLA, of course there will be something's that are more suitable to DLP/SLA but it is good advice and appreciate seeing it to. I do think DLP/SLA has offered much more scope for table top designers too. In not table top player but love channels passion and you have taught me alot in the smaller printing space so thank you!

I get not re-selling the actual STL I purchased but I'm a little on the fence over whether the STL seller has any say over what I do with my physical prints. I've heard a bit on both sides of things but was curious what you thought on the subject.
It's the designers IP and when you buy the STL, you're really buying a personal license on use of that IP. Selling prints is still using that designer's IP. No different than buying a PDF and then selling copies that you printed.
Yeah, I would liken it to buying an eBook and then selling printed copies of the book. Sure, you might put a lot of effort and money into printing and binding it, etc. But that doesn't legally give you rights to distribute it.
The CR10 is very similar to the Creality Ender 3 but larger. For quality minis go resin. For terrain FDM is fine. I suggest an Elegoo Mars or Mars 2 Pro for a good starter SLA printer for minis. FDM just can compete with layer height. I print at 0.0.025mm layer height on my resin printers. On my FDM printer I print at 0.08mm.

Danny you are frigging awesome
People should check out torchlight models, great sculpts with chunk vintage vibe on it
Didn't notice two of the Modern Day Survivors were Cheech & Chong!!
I love these kind of videos !!
Is that a miniac t-shirt ?
Yep! (Wasn't sold by him, was made as a joke amongst friends)
I like VoidRealm Minis for the original cosmic horrors, but I may be biased :)
Epic's dwarf kickstarter was pretty extensive. Don't think I will ever need another dwarf mini.
Loved this VID !!!
opinion on cr 10 smart for minis
The CR10 is very similar to the Creality Ender 3 but larger. For quality minis go resin. For terrain FDM is fine. I suggest an Elegoo Mars or Mars 2 Pro for a good starter SLA printer for minis. FDM just can compete with layer height. I print at 0.0.025mm layer height on my resin printers. On my FDM printer I print at 0.08mm.
I haven't used it, and don't know anyone who has used it for printing minis, so I can't say. Sorry!
unless you're printing fatdragon games minis or Briteminis, worthless
Loot Studio for the win.
Loot is amazing, but they don't have a Patreon and they definitely have more than 500 subs. :)
Epics 'N' Stuffs is always making more Tortles. I will be surprised in the month when they do not. Then again, Cobramode hasn't had any Hanzakis for a couple months now, so it could happen.
Woot! New KS!
39 days?!? We have different definitions of soon, Danny. xD
It's the (not final) countdooooooooooown! 🎵🎵🎵
Having a hard time finding historical. 3dbreed is great but their prices are way too high unless you plan on printing their stuff 10 times!
Wow awesome to hear somebody else played city of heroes too lol
Cool stuff!!
You should check out Cast N Play
Aether does do minis as well kind of wish you would have shown some of them i am really biased toward the wonderful team they have
We cut out a lot from all of the patreons due to time unfortunately. They do have a wonderful team though!
Heck yeah and they are super nice.
www.minihoarder.com/creators/aether-studios/ for anyone that’s interested in their store here’s a link
Their patreon is where you get the best deals though you get a lot of content every month
Schlossbauer is the only one I am still subbed to on Patreon. I'd wish he would make them baseless though.
All of these things you're like "wow, their costs are lower than normal."
It seems that maybe "normal" is actually lower than you think it is lol
If everything is cute, nothing is cute
Does anyone think he has a doppelganger in UA-camr Brandon Jordon. Don't remember his channels name He is one of the guys that dives rivers and such to find " treasure"
Jogging" with Jordan
