Awesome stuff! I'm an indie game developer, quite a bit into 3d modeling using blender (long time freelancer). Might be getting a 3d printer soon and focusing more on sculpting plenty creatures from my free open source game and even their dwellings, probably giving most of them for free. Well I would generate some income, even better, could further sustain my game project I guess :-)

Hi, I'm Will (aka Brexit) a modeller on the list and I can model from artworks. though my schedule is kind of full for the near future with my plans to open a patreon. You can PM me on thingiverse if you don't find anyone else
I saw few minutes ago in your patron list a very good sculptor, Francesco Pizzo, very talented but he is not showed in the video, his models are great, why is he not showed in you video? Imo, his models alone worth to invest into a 3d printer!
Hi Big Tank, I appreciate your engagement and taking the time to comment on several others posts. Thanks for caring enough to share your opinion. I hope you enjoy the channel and feel welcome here. There are obviously many more sculptors than the ones I show in this video, as well as many other reasons that people buy 3D printer than just miniature models. I appreciate all of them for caring enough to share their work with our community - and this video was meant to be an appreciate nod to just a few of those who have been making models for our community for awhile now. I'd love to include more, but there will always be some folks who are left out, so I had to set the limit somewhere (and that's also why I included my Patreon link as well). Every day there are new sculptors who join our community with different levels of ability and different styles. Some have only had a Patreon for a few months (like Francesco) and are just now building their model base and Patreon base. They are building their reputation in the community, and add value as well - but I can count at least 10 Patreons ALONE who do this, and this video was about more than just models that are at GW quality (which is also based on the viewer's opinion as well). Even if there was a single sculptor who you loved - buying a 3D printer for a single artist's Patreon will still cost a lot of money, and not be cost effective unless you had a large amount of models to print. Much more models than any single artist can produce in a period of a few months. Much more printers and filament/resin that cost several hundreds of dollars (upwards of $400+ to start with a resin printer) probably isn't the best investment if you're looking to print something like a Warhammer or WH40K army - because every model needs to be a close enough proxy and have the same level of detail and your printer has to be capable of that level of results. There are few models that match GW quality right now to do this - and those who do aren't exact proxies, but often inspired by other large company miniatures instead. I share this so you can understand more of the context that goes into this video and others. As a community, we try to be supportive of each other. It is in this spirit which I started this channel. I disagree with your opinion here, and think it's dismissive and disrespectful to say that just because other sculptors in the community don't sculpt with the same level of detail of others that their models aren't valuable or worth it. Miguel's models might not be as detailed as others, but nobody else has been as dedicated to make a 3D model for EVERY model in the D&D monster manual, and so many other D&D books - and released them FOR FREE. His models have brought a lot of joy to others - just like Francesco's have. I appreciate them both - and contribute money out of my own pocket to show that. At the end of the day, everybody is putting themselves out there and sharing their art. These videos aren't perfect, but they're art to me too - and I'm trying my best to improve my craft, and support those in my community, while adding value to new folks joining our community as well. Now that I've said all of that, if you are looking for more sculptors with a similar style to Francescos, here are a few others for you to check out: - Claudio Setti: www.patreon.com/claudiosetti - Fabio Schizzo: www.patreon.com/fabioschizzo/posts - Cast 'N Play: www.patreon.com/castnplay - And please do me a favor and take another look at Duncan Louca's work: www.patreon.com/Duncan_shadow Thank you again for your comments, I hope this helps clarify and answers your question Mr. Pizzo!
@@3DPrintedTabletop understand and agree, I'll not buy a 3d printer for a single sculptor, but it is pretty intersting. Thanks for taking time to explain me your point of view.

Hello good sir. :) I was watching your videos for a long time now, and i think it is probably you who can help me. Please, can you help me to find out, is sla printer has enought quality for production minis? @@Quello_di_una_volta you are Francesco Pizzo? I found you in the supported patreons, if yes, why the hell you are not in the video?! Until now your work are the only one that worth to be mentioned! Your models can match gw miniatures, and in some case are even better. Good work, the printers bandwagon doesn't deserve such beautiful models, hope you release even some physical version.
The models in your shop are my favorite of every one I've seen so far. Unfortunately, the prices are not something I would consider. For those prices I could buy physical minis from WizKids, and when it's for a .stl file, that just...doesn't make sense. See, the whole reason I'm into 3d printing is so that I can afford to use minis as a DM. Sadly, the way things are priced in your store now, it doesn't help me achieve that. I hope you'll reconsider how you price things in the store, because if you do it would be the ultimate resource! Thanks for the video.
I need your help I can’t find good dragons for D&D all the ones by wiz kids seam to be to small! Or not accurate reaper bones look like they might be bigger but I need a black dragon that looks like a back dragon not a red one! And so on!

Now that I've said all of that, if you are looking for more sculptors with a similar style to Francescos, here are a few others for you to check out:
- Claudio Setti: www.patreon.com/claudiosetti
- Fabio Schizzo: www.patreon.com/fabioschizzo/posts
- Cast 'N Play: www.patreon.com/castnplay
- And please do me a favor and take another look at Duncan Louca's work: www.patreon.com/Duncan_shadow
Thank you again for your comments, I hope this helps clarify and answers your question Mr. Pizzo!
@@3DPrintedTabletop understand and agree, I'll not buy a 3d printer for a single sculptor, but it is pretty intersting. Thanks for taking time to explain me your point of view.
@@bigtank6347 Anytime my friend. Cheers from Florida!
What printer are you useing. ?
At this point, I was using an Ender 3 and an Anycubic Photon! Currently using a whole bunch, but the Ender 3 is still my FDM go-to. Testing the latest wave of resin printers now :)
@@3DPrintedTabletop Thanks ! Am planing on buying Anycubic Photon Mono so i would get thouse weird waves
They look horible when painted
Nice, you should shout out Brite Minis as well he is
really good!
Hello good sir. :) I was watching your videos for a long time now, and i think it is probably you who can help me. Please, can you help me to find out, is sla printer has enought quality for production minis? I have some experience in silicon molding and i am really interested, is something like anycubic photon will be enough for my master models. Thank you :)
At least one of them has been told now.
Hey, I'm in the list of the Patrons you support, thanks :)
You are an incredible sculptor, Francesco. Cheers!
Incredible sculptor? At what minute are your models shown?
@@bigtank6347 I'm not in the video, but mine Patreon is the Daniel supported list (at the end of the video he show his Patreon supports)
Oh, a side note, we both have the same surname :)
^_^ thanks for the feature.
media.giphy.com/media/Ij87d6qbAhdJe/giphy.gif Looking forward to the next batch of minis, Morgan!
Thank you for this great top10!
Thanks for the video.
does anyone know what Duncan "Shadow" Louca's thingiverse accuont is
When legit cred goes through the roof... "You to can amass a collection of printed mini's that will probably never be painted!"
I need your help I can’t find good dragons for D&D all the ones by wiz kids seam to be to small! Or not accurate reaper bones look like they might be bigger but I need a black dragon that looks like a back dragon not a red one! And so on!
Who made the ice dragon!!!!
*Really awesome video again! (Amethyst Craft)*
Just wanted to make a mention about Tom and Fat Dragon, they are going to be launching a kickstarter for a whole bunch of minis in a few weeks
Yup! A lot of folks here have Kickstarters launching within the next month or two as well, but I'll probably cover all of them at some point on the channel as well. Cheers!
@@3DPrintedTabletop It's the reason I had to push mine back. just way too many in Jan.
Excellent list! Would you consider an updated video in the near future? I'm sure there's some excellent black folks and women that make awesome minis was well. 😊
No
Fantastic video.
Glad you enjoyed it, Patrick! Cheers!
How could you forget Devon Jones? He is probably one of earliest creators of terrain on Thingiverse
Hi Bill! You probably missed the part of the video where I say that this video is for mini modelers, and that the terrain video is coming next month :) Devon is actually a very good friend of mine, and I share and support his work as much as I can. Cheers!
Claudio Setti does amazing work
"huh, fun space marine, but the pose makes me think of dab... shit now i want a space marine dabbi-"
*NUMBER 10*
I would like to add a few fantasy modelers I support on Patreon:
Black Omen
www.patreon.com/blackomen/posts
Fabio Schizzo
www.patreon.com/fabioschizzo/posts
Mia Kay
www.patreon.com/M3DM/posts
I support all of them on Patreon as well - which is why I included my own list for those who were interested in going beyond the video! Cheers!
Hey dude! I've tried communicating with you a couple times already and still no reply. I late pledged your KS. Because I am a late pledge, I cant see the updates. Any way you can help me with this? Thank you!
Im thinking of getting a CR 10 s PRO, do you think it is good for small miniatures?
You sound Spanish, I'm spanish, can we talk in spanish? Hahahaha
Hey guys, if you like something more stylized, check out Stouthearted Heroes. They can be purchased separately on the website or as a whole collection as an add-on during the Gothic City Kickstarter. There are tons of freebies on the website including a Stouthearted Hero gypsy 😁 www.kickstarter.com/projects/rocketpiggames/tilescape-gothic-city-3d-printable-modular-buildin/description
Responding 2 years later, but your work is incredible! Hopefully Danny will make a new video for 2021 and give you some recognition.
All I gotta say is that a storm is coming.

on stltop.com you can find list of much more modelers
Stop referring to buying warhammer models from gw as "supporting the hobby". There is literally nothing that does more harm to this hobby than giving gw your money.
Aww, I didn't make the cut! J/K
I know, and that is why I included the segment at the end: it hurt to NOT include more folks - but I would have to leave someone out no matter what -_- I hope you know I appreciate you!
just out pace some of the others, so you make version 2 of the list
Hope I dont offend but your cute, that being said thanks for the this channel got into D&D again and bbc want to get into printing. Awsome info!!
Someone else you should DEFINITELY add to this list is Schlossbauer! His models are amazing and the print quality is out of this world! I'm making a video about a purple worm I printed. But seriously....check him out!
The gasp i left out when i heard Bad dragon...
👌 👍
This is my 8th period research teacher lmaoo 😂😂😂
Danny, check out Claudio Setti on patreon. Hes super new.
I'm curious, there's some good modelers for age of sigmar too??
I can paint them faster than my 3D printer can print them...
RocketPigGames.com I love their models and most are support free.
You act like making money is a criminal act or something to be embarrassed about. Making money is the best way for someone to say thank you for your time and effort. Never feel bad about getting paid for your hard work and effort... even when you enjoy doing the things you do.
