Another reason for wanting him would be his strong connections to top tier talent. Roger Deakins, Hans Zimmer are names that immediately came to mind and ones you mentioned. I really like Austin Butler for a role, I think he's a generational talent. Seeing him in Dune part 2 really convinced me he would make an exceptional bond, his range is world beating. Butler gives very 1950 vibes, Master of the Air sold that, Deakins with 1917 managed to make WW1 feel vibrant and open and breathtaking. I think a retelling of Bond and or just setting it between 1940's - 70's would be phenomenal
I thought Austin Butler was phenomenal in Dune, I hope to see him pop up in more things. I believe he recently gave an interview where he said he wanted to play Bond, but backpedaled on that saying Bond should be British. I would have to agree with him, but I'd be happy to see him appear in a Bond film in another role. Maybe Felix Leiter haha.
Please, no. I need him to return to his roots. It's great to see a mind like his working on blockbusters of giant franchises, but I need him to pursue something more personal, yet still commercial, like 'Arrival,' for example. I love the introspective work he does with his characters, and I'm afraid he won't be able to achieve that with Bond. I would prefer someone like Rian Johnson, for example
The Craig era definitely began to experiment with a more introspective Bond, more akin to Fleming's character. If Villeneuve wanted to explore that further, I think he could. Although I think the more emotional Bond is something we might move away from. I would like to see deeper characterization for the villians going forward.
Fingers crossed. I've heard some people theorize that the Nuclear War movie that was just announced with Villeneuve directing is the secret project. But it seems that isn't happening until after Dune 3 which is a ways off. The secret project is allegedly releasing somewhat soon.
I think Eon are hoping whatever director they choose will establish the creative direction of the movies for the next decade they are really all out of ideas. Even then i think BB only ever had one idea. Make a gritty, unconventional leading man (Craig, or Neeson) Bond movie.
Please no, Denis would be wasted on a Bond movie, there's plenty of people who can make good bond movies, there's not many people who can make Villeneuve movies. Unless they let him switch up the formula a bit and make it more cerebral, but then you just piss off Bond fans.
@@chattery while I'm not saying season 5 feels completely different but It's much more self-contained, and they even recap everything you need to know at the beginning. It's a great jumping-on point too. And a lot of TNG connections 😇
I've since seen Dune: Part Two, and all I can say is PLEASE DENIS, I NEED YOU TO DIRECT BOND!

I want a Bond 3-movie series by Nolan, Guy Richie and Villeneuve...it would be exciting
That would be something. A Guy Ritchie movie between Nolan and Villeneuve would be a nice palate cleanser.

Dune was insane, he should do a James Bond!
I’m convinced that Bond 26 is being worked on in some form. Would make sense if Bond 26 is the “secret project”

I hope his next one is the Rendezvous With Rama. I love scifi.
His next film will likely be the secret project be was alluding to, since it has to "see the light of day somewhat quickly."
@@chattery Ok. I thought he meant that that was the case if he's going to do it.
He would be a fantastic choice

I don't agree. Villeneuve has said many times that he is eager to make a Bond film so let him.
Please react to discovery (final) season 5. Not big fan of season 3 and 4. But the first 2 episode this season are very strong.
I haven't seen anything past Season 2, but I heard that the premiere for Season 5 was good.

VILLENUEVE BOND???????????????????????????????????? I'VE NEVER SEEN A BOND MOVIE BUT LET HIM COOK.
If we're lucky.
FUCK Bond. I want the Prisoner.
Why not both?
His talents would be wasted on a Bond film
