When you talked about the map designs, I realized just why the Tokyo 2099 maps take about 10 minutes to load compared to the rest. While I do agree that some maps could use more love, unless they give players the option to load every map when you start the game, that's a hard pass for me
That's a really good point that I didn't think about! It does seem to always be the one with the longest load times. Maybe if the game gets better optimized they can think about filling out the other maps a little more.
as someone who recently got really into Storm, i will say, her flight is purely an escape tool, shes essentially a ground based character whos designed around playing in the middle of a grouped up team, aiming at grouped up enemies, and peeling for supports, she wants to be behind a shield and she wants to take advantage of her projectile's piercing as much as possible, and honestly, making good use of her goddess boost both for yourself and your team is key
Conceptually, i like seasonal buffs. It gives an avenue for the game to test how a certain buff would work for certain characters before tweaking or finalizing them later down the line. The implementation on the other hand...
@@ShaggyLad i mean, it wasnt the nerf alot of people were asking for but she did get nerfed lmao, they made it so you cant spam swap to essentially have 100% uptime on both modes anymore

this review is to me a bit weird. there are many points where u show that u havent played certain characters or attempted to really learn them Thor is a good example u say his kit doesnt make sense cus it all revolves around his E which is blatantly false. thor recharges a hammer on hit after using a skill. so if youre playing him correctly ur spamming everything but his E mostly running down squishies or displacing threats with dash his E is really only for poke ot finishing off several escaping enemies. also why are u so obsessed with “throw rock” for hulk? theres a thousand characters in marvel lore that do that. thats not a hulk specific thing. however (and as a comic fan ill tell u this) his thunder clap and gamma bellow ARE hulk staples. so as a fan of the character im glad that made it in over “thing even spiderman can do” it just seems ur grasping at straws to find things that are “bad” about the game instead of just being honest that they are things you dont like. the only one i agree with u on is storm and thats cus idk how to play her. i havent tried. so i still wouldnt say bad. also the season buffs are a fabtastic idea to get an idea of what the character might need. venom is a perfect example. hes been struggling this season even WITH the buff. so they recognized “oh ok lets fix that yeah?” bow hes getting buffed. if u want this to be ur opinion thats fine. but dont say its a review then. reviews are meant to be as objective as possible so that others get and idea of if theyd like to play it or not. “my thoughts on marvel rivals as a die hard Overwatch fan” is a title that better fits with what ur doing here. this is NOT a review its an opinion piece
Reviews are subjective. They involve personal opinions. The things I think are "bad" are also the things I don't like. I personally think Thor feels bad because you either spam your dash off cooldown every two seconds or spam awakening rune, which cuts you off from your other abilities during the duration. It feels clunky. They should let you decide if you want to use your abilities back to back and blow through your resources instead of forcing you to wait for global cooldowns or rune's duration. This would open up more skill expression and make him feel faster to play. Hulk doesn't feel like this colossal force of nature outside of his ult. Whether it is accurate to some of the stuff he does in the comics or not, he lacks impact. Most people don't think about green bubbles or spitting gamma when they think Hulk. There is no difference between your seasonal buff idea and regular game balancing. The issue is that seasonal buffs are arbitrary in comparison. They're already doing regular number balancing each season, so then why do we need to slap on an extra 20% damage to a character when the meta is already shifting naturally based on actual game statistics? It's messy. Reviews are meant to be opinion pieces substantiated by evidence. Hopefully that makes it a little more clear for you. You're welcome to disagree and I appreciate you watching anyway.
@ the Thor point i dont diagree with universal cooldowns being a bad idea but i dont think that makes his kit bad or clunky i also dont like the playstyle of it but i dont think my enjoyment or lack thereof is indicative if the actual design of it. the Hulk however i dont agree. it seems disingenuous to say “some of the stuff he does in the comics” then say “people dont think of that stuff” no comic readers DO. which is 90% of his fan base. also have you got caught in a back alley with a hulk player 1v1? it feels like ur widow from Avengers 1 running for your life. because his mobility has no cooldown. he can stop u from getting away. Hulk in my opinion encourages u to branch out clutch the 1v1 return for heals and protection from the threat on the team which is exactly what he does in the movies and comics Runs off clutches a bunch of 1 v 1 then comes back to clutch against the big threat the team is facing. if you wanted a colossal giant that mows through everyone u get that with his ult and fans know this. seasonal buff i dont agree. because of perception. if overwatch walks something back they half ass it cus they dont want yo admit their wrong. seasonal buffs allow for it to be an open test it also gives u ideas to fine tune the actual change u make. maybe Venom doesnt need 150 he needs 200 extra health. release him at 650 with no seasonal now hes so bad that u might OVERTUNE the health or ability now hes TOO strong so u try to tune him back and now hes not viable in this third season since the inital issue meta. with the seasonal they get the buff they buff marignally because its understandable to the community especially those who ARENT online alot that its not permanent therefore less backlash “he needed more than what u gave him” “u buffed him WAY too much” and u get to find the middle ground a season BEFORE u would if u just tuned it the way traditionally done. especially since they plan to release new characters every season and i think it shows they have their finger on the pulse of what they foresee the charcters issue being and with hero bans it doesnt really matter just ban anyone bustef until the season is over. i think the team ups offer similar information iron man not nearly as good without hulk boost but now we know hulk boost too high (maybe) base not enough what adjustments can be made to base. i think the system is ingenious while also giving us something no other shooter has. a dev crew whos humbled enough to know they might get it wrong instead if releasing a busted meta breaking character that ruins the game and having too much pride to reverse it for 2 years (like a certain dev team we dealt with) i suppose ur right. they are subjective with evidence backing. idk if it was the delivery of the video or maybe the way i interpreted it. were all human we fuck it up. either thanks for indulging the conversation i respect ur opinion even if i disagree with some of it.
