Please pray for me. God has taken more than 63 lb of gluttony from me . I need to lose about 29 pounds more. I feel so much more free now as food controls me less and less and I love God more and more. Pray that I become virtuous in the area of eating and then continue on to other virtues. I agree with you about the constant barrage of food pictures, LOL. Wondering if you're Eastern Apostolic? The Latin Rite Mass has been changed a few times.
Hello, I attend a wonderful Byzantine church. Loving their liturgy as much as my former TLM. I think what happened in the 60's was more than "change". They tried to make it protestant, and threw out everything that came before, like Sacred Heart devotions, First Friday, previous popes' teachings etc.
But images are just as fr.R is speaking and using humor. He is descibing food and eating in a hilarous manner

What happens if a pope is heretical in what he teaches (for example if he teaches there is no Hell and all people go to Heaven)? Does the faithful become captive audiences learning and believing there is no Hell till the next pope is elected and condemning the heretical pope?
