@Brandow Funky That's great, you should do really good with it. Hopefully lots of services like this will pop up for the nomads.
Garage bay rentals with power and lights and rentable tools maybe even have the property have a corner for a shower house, dog walk area, and laundry matt for people that need to deep clean or do service on the rigs but have nowhere convenient or safe to do that. People could reserve a stall like an Airbnb pay like a hotel so you don't have to leave the rig or if you need to safely unload it. Also, there's a shortage of RV mechanics, and custom build shops. Many gas stations should be paying more attention to new profit opportunity in accomodating nomads. They could add a laundry matt/ shower facility building. Hopefully, lots of businesses are going to come with the increasing volume of people living full-time out of wheeled vehicles. It's not just the retirees in expensive RVs or hobos on meth living in a van down by the river, it's everybody in between now to.

I watched this once before (about 2 years ago) and had forgotten about it till it just came back up on a random search. When I went to Quartzsite back in November (from IL) I missed Tucson area. This sounded like a good place to check out, but I had forgotten. So, this video is 2 years old now, it needs an updated video to show all that's changed in the past 2 years. PLEASE SOMEONE DO A NEW VIDEO HERE FOR EVERYONE ! Maybe on way home in March I can route myself thru here. But, I'm old and will be doing good to remember how to get back home without adding a detour to here !

My wife and I camped at Caballo Loco several years ago, attending a star party there. During that stay, I helped install a 14" telescope and mount in the observatory. I believe the ranch was then part of a cooperative. We had a wonderful time and delighted in meeting some of the unique individuals living there. I'm happy to learn that the ranch is still there and seems to be thriving under Jim's ownership.

Great neighbor to the Cañez ranch walking distance from the main office! Dirt road may need to be graded more often from the main road but we all can lend a helping hand! Per Cañez rancher owners please do not enter in posted sign areas as we are keeping our livestock in their boundaries, gates need to be shut at all times thank you. Reminder all hunters need to have their permits and contact the Cañez owner before entering. there has been some people trespassing and disrespecting us when confronted. We mind our own and expect others to do the same. BLM is only a phone call away!
    Enjoy the desert peacefully.

Wouldn't it be great if HOWA could plan on buying it when the time comes? Or at least if Jim could, pre-arrange for a future owner to continue the ranch/rv park on as it is (or expanding of course) so those living there can feel assured that they can continue to live there. Bob thank you so much for sharing this video...This place is Heaven compared to the rest of the world...The owner is an Angel...I'm 70 years old and just finished my cargo trailer conversion, so now I know what I need to do. Go there and pick out my primitive lot, pay for it, then make my more 🙃 That is, come back to Va, pack up my stuff. and get out of Dodge to Caballo Loco Ranch Paradise ✨

This reminds me of a more "civilized" version of Slab City. Thanks for the video!

You know why? Because it costs to live here, not very much but paying for something makes you treat it better, that's just human nature. Slab City being free doesn't get respect from many people.

He is very proud of the community he has created as well as he should be. If I started life in a van, rv etc his place is where I would go because as a beginner I would feel safe there.

Just went and checked this place out. Not what I expected, but you get what you pay for. As a women I don’t know that I would be comfortable living here. Long way to anything , but I got the feeling that is what most of these folks liked.
