    For someone not scared to speak his mind, it will inevitably get a number of critics or naysayers. Regardless of if you like him or not, I don't think anyone can criticize Ian's contribution to the recovery and restoration of classic Doctor Who over the years.

    I left Facebook nearly 2 years ago as I realised what a cesspool of human interaction it was.
    So I'll never see Ian's episodes unfortunately.

      It has calmed down a touch there. Unfortunately it's now pumped full of advertising on a massive scale.
      It could be worth opening a basic account to find out more concerning these projects. I'll ask him.

    I wish there had been a third podcast with Ian, so Dan could have asked Ian his thoughts on the rest of Ncuti’s 1st season - would love to know what he thought of “Rogue,” and the two part finale! I reckon Ian wouldn’t have liked them and he would have exploded like a volcano in his anger at those 3 episodes!
    Come on Dan, get Ian back on to give us his opinion on all of Ncuti’s 1st season! Oh, and what he thought about Chibnall’s era too! It would make a brilliant podcast methinks!

      @@type40doctorwho great news, Dan. Loved the two podcasts so far with Ian. Will you reach out to Bignall and see if he will come on your podcast and defend himself? Could be a fascinating interview if he agrees to do so. If he doesn’t want to come on to tell his side of the story, then I guess that will tell us all we need to know about him!

    well we all know 1 episode is out there WEB OF FEAR 3, most likely taken by a certain mr PM who we know Ian hates and rightfully so. you have to wonder why he did not take ep 6 as well. IF PM does have more DR WHO since he is fan then he will hoard them unless he gets paid a huge amount so unless these are returned or the australian tapes unearth something they only way to see these stories is AI. Ian's are a good start but they should improve in another 10 years until they are nearly identical to the original lost episode.

      I'm not sure it's appropriate to talk about Mr Morris. Ian has his views and opinions and beliefs on this subject and the man. I've been in contact with him myself, over the years and has an open invitation to speak with me. Or any of the Type 40 team.

      @@type40doctorwho well Ian gave PM a blast on another podcast and pointed out alot of misleading and untrue things PM has said over the years. what I am saying is unless PM comes up with another lost episode IE WEB 3 or something else then no one is going to believe anything he says from now on

    5000+ members of the Ian Levine group, but there's less than 300 of us who have contributed.
    I'm sorry, but I think Ian needs to stop giving the episodes away for free now.
    If everyone donated just £10 or £20, he'd likely have enough to finish them all off, upgrade some of the early ones and even have some left over for other projects.

    • @WinchesterMediaUK
      @WinchesterMediaUK 3 місяці тому

      That would absolutely be copyright infringement. At the moment, donations are voluntary and the only requirement to see the episodes is being part of Ian's Facebook group. The moment they start becoming mandatory and the episodes go behind a paywall, it's breaking the law.

      You'd need to contact Ian's moderators on Facebook directly, to pursue these enquiries.

      I LOVE this platform! I've had liteerally the full range of every possible criticism over these pieces: I let him speak to much, now too little. Challenge him too much/not enough.... I'm a Yahtzee and also an apologist for all sorts haha
      I'll remind you, this is a conversation. Rather than an interview. Thank you for watching David.

    I am in North America and have little to no access to Classic Doctor Who. I for one applaud Ian’s efforts to restore or make available any lost episode in any format: AI, animated or telesnap!
    Since the BBC never seemed to care about preserving episodes in the first place, they should have no qualms about allowing the recons to happen in any form whatsoever. IMHO they forfeited all copyrights to the missing episodes when they destroyed the original material. Just saying.
    Thank you Ian for all of your efforts and support of Doctor Who! ❤

      @@TheGameCenter The BBC were real short sighted planks, for junking all of these great Dr Who classic stories to begin with as they denied us all the right to be able to see these again because of their short sightedness, of not recognising that these great classic stories had a future, were just really blessed that we have the audio sound tracks, to these missing episodes, and the telesnaps, if we hadnt got those right now then things would be alot worser.

    • @wallacebiddle7008
      @wallacebiddle7008 2 місяці тому +1

      yeh i agree with what you said here, the bbc have been less than kind at times, the bbc were responsible, for the biggest act of destruction of their own television archive ever, and they did this foolish act all by themselves, they destroyed episodes, of not only dr who but A for Andromeda, out of the unknown, united, z-cars, dads army, not only but also, many editions of top of the pops too and alot more programmes, some of these have all gone completly, now, its more than sad, its heartbreaking, we want to see these missing dr who episodes, like they were first transmitted, using ai and telesnap origonal frames, to re-make them not as a cartoon, the cartoon version reconstructions, are okay as a stop gap until the bbc bring them out using ai and telesnaps to re-make them again. Hopefully then they can be released on dvds, and blu-rays then one day.

      @@TheGameCenter Dont you think we as bbc licence paying customers, here in the uk have got a right also, the bbc tv licence costs us bbc customers, £169.50p we have to pay this every year, to watch bbc tv programmes here, so when we find out that we can no longer watch one of our favourite bbc tv programmes, any more, because the bbc wiped the film tapes, years ago, then were not happy, we dont pay the bbc £169.50p every year for them to wipe, and junk our favourite tv programmes, so we can no longer watch them. Image how we all feel when we knew the bbc made some great classic stories, like dr who power of the daleks, abominable snowmen, and the smugglers, marco polo, etc only to find out years later that we can no longer see them or watch them any more because the bbc destroyed the film tapes, of that back in the early 1970s, its not good at all.

      @@TheGameCenterI’m not saying I’m right - I say they were wrong to do it in the first place so any attempt to right the wrong should be applauded and not vilified as Ian Levine is, so IMHO he should be applauded in his efforts to bring back what was lost. Just my opinion - I’m simply trying to express my moral (not legal) opinion.
