Honestly I love the line "this is cobbler" in contrast to being serious. The idea that he'd not only lose his cool but also say nonsense instead of an explitive makes it sillier imo. Censorship sucks, but you guys made the best of it.
Small correction: "cobblers" isn't nonsense. It's Cockney rhyming slang - "cobblers' awls" = "balls". It's less rude than saying "bollocks" but still considered to be a mild swear word by some.
The "all rise" joke was so good because if you've ever watched courtroom dramas, you KNOW it's coming. But the build to get to it while they sat down was timed just right to make the timing of the punchline perfect. Knowing it was coming made it funnier for the anticipation. I loved that moment.
I remember watching Peter Pan Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. Knowing that those two are a couple in real life makes the scenes all the sweeter.
@@ellenkingsley yeah... but in the pilot (not the pilot) they looked like they were going to do that with different characters... it would have been interesting...
NGL, I’d love a Cornley sitcom. Like, a behind the scenes at Cornley sort of thing. Because, they have such great characters PLAYING the characters, and I’d love to see more of it, if that makes sense.
Seeing Chris’s creative process would be hilarious. We got a glimpse of what they’re all like behind the scenes in Peter Pan Goes Wrong so getting a more in depth show about them trying to prepare for every weekly play would be hilarious
The Max-Sandra story been one of my favorite Mischief Theatre character sub-plots throughout all their works, so finding out they're actually dating made my day!
you cant convince me that "make it all fit with the smallest possible door we can fit henry through" wasnt the design statement for the court room set XD
I would have liked to have heard from Nancy and Bryony about the treadmill falls they had to take in this episode, Nancy's in particular was an amazing stunt!
The fact the BBC is a British tv company yet didn’t allow such historical British words such as knob and bollocks should be classed as treason can’t imagine how annoying that is
To be fair fuck is also British and historical, as is cunt. You'd have to draw a line somewhere 🤣 Thankfully you can say or do just about anything on British TV after the watershed (9pm) but a lot of youngsters who love the show would not be able to watch it.
The glasses look like pince-nez, pronounced 'pahnce-nay' (more or less). I absolutely love the concept of the Goes Wrong series, and the incredible chemistry and skill of the cast really sells it and drives the comedy home. The whole thing could so easily have been taken in a very uncomfortable second-hand embarrassment type of direction, and I'm glad it wasn't.
"Oh, this is cobblers" has become a phrase my wife and I will utter at least once a day in place of "This is BS" because we heard it on this episode and thought it was funny. Knowing how it came to he makes it even funnier.
Nice to see Angel Charlie and Dave's cat again I love it how Jonathan,Bryony and Henry Lewis end up saying the wrong lines after Jonathan yells "Erection"
When I found out that Dave had played a Stormtrooper in Star Wars...I like to imagine that its actually Max and he tries to sell Doctor Frog to JJ ABrams.
You gotta love Tootles reaction when the livingroom scene begins she's like omg how have these guys not messed up by now lol that's what I got out of it anyways
I just found this. I was there for the filming of this episode. I haven't laughed as much as I laughed at the tiny courtroom since. Properly nearly wet myself! Well done guys. Can't wait for series 2 and hopefully I'll get to watch another episode recording!

I have to be honest the bark at 15:18 (I'm assuming from Mabel, Jonathan Sayer's adorable little dog) makes me jump every single time! And it's never acknowledged! But Angel makes an appearance in each episode of Goes Wrong Along. I've loved seeing the Mischief pets.
