Nice. I am building a Toad, and will shoot you an email. Wondering how much further is sticks out compared to the stock bumper cover. Don't want it to interfere with the tow bar.

I think you should reconsider the way you have it mounted. I would never trust a winch mounted tow. Bumper that is only held on by 4 12mm bolts. A lot of people drill through the holes in the frame making them into bigger diameter holes and then sleeve the holes all the way through to add to the structural integrity making it a safe to winch from.

Shear strength of a single 10mm bolt is about 7500 lbs. there are four of them holding the bumper on. Those bolts are only loaded in shear and it’s a 5500 lb winch. There are also only four 10mm bolts holding the winch to the bumper. Those bolts are loaded in both shear and tension. The bolts holding the winch on will break before the bolts holding the bumper to the frame. I could reinforce the bumper to the frame, but it’s still only as strong as the four bolts holding the winch to the bumper. Also, there are not any connections on the bumper in the case that you need to use a snatch block. It is not designed for that. If you need to snatch block back, connect it to the tow hook mounted on the frame. That way you distribute the stress to multiple points on the vehicle and don’t over stress any single point.

I think I may have asked before but don’t remember. Do you plan on lifting yours? I just got the BDS kit in the mail today. I’m copying UA-camr PDX Jay budget lift done right system. Was thinking about emailing you back about the prototype bumper but don’t know how I would get it to Prineville Oregon. If I remember correctly your 6 hours from central Oregon.

Funny you ask that… I’m installing a puck lift right now. Video of that should be coming out in a couple weeks. I’m doing a 2” puck lift with stock replacement struts (front) and Corolla shocks (rear). By the time I’m done I’ll be all in about $200, but I got a good deal on the shocks, so maybe $250 would be a better number.
