This was a perfect song to set the mood for retelling the story of Pecos Bill, and a perfect closing to one of Disney's most memorable movies of their traditional animation days. Loved movies like Fantasia and Melody Time as a kid. :)
At Hell Dorado, in Las Vegas, I got to see Trigger when I was about 5 -- Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were incidental. I associate this song with that time, so I must have heard it somewhere. . . I remember it vividly from the early 50s, after we had moved to El Paso.
This is the best version because it has that gorgeous whistle solo. Hard to find the version (not available on I-tunes) or CD as far as I can tell. Thanks for posting.
