Roy, and Dale were good people ... excellent people in every way possible. How lucky we were to have such people, such great talent, honest and true people to look up to when we were young.
GOSH! Remember when people could sing...and with NO vulgarity...Thank you, Robert
Amen
You clearly weren't there for rehearsal
Really great entertainers. I’m glad I was around when these types of shows were popular. I watch them every chance I get. They take me back to some happy childhood memories. I’m 81 and am reminded of the times when a home was a home, and neighborhoods were a friendly place to grow up.
I'm a metal guitarist and I love listening to music like this. These are amazing musicians.
Miss these singers, along with Roy and Dale! Good old days❣️
I was so in love with Roy from the first time I saw him in about 1948, I have received a lot laughs about how I still play some of his movies and records, and I am now 79. He was the best.
Me too Gail.
Me too at 82+. Mom even bought me a Roy Rogers outfit.

Yes, I thought Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were the greatest back then, and now there's nobody to compare them to. I wouldn't wish their pure, sweet souls back to this twisted society today.
I wanted to marry either Roy or Mighty Mouse 😂
How I love Roy and Dale, and since they were believers IN Christ as I am, I look forward to seeing them both in Glory when I become absent from my body and present with the Lord! This sweet singing is so wonderful unlike the junk that is played today!
He's doing those acoustic runs without even looking. Legend

I regret growing old. Wish i could go back. But gratefull i was a very young boy. Yes i had my roy rogers twin cap guns and my hat. Funny its the real deal now.
Thank you for this post. A wonderful time for my generation. Happier days for all.
This was REAL entertainment. Those were the days. Now we have, Well. Not this !!!!! At least we can go back to those times through these videos. Thank you.
Absolutely!! Nothing today can touch the real music we had then!
OMG... those WERE the days. Oh, a softer, somewhat 'gentler' time. Sigh....
I REMEMBER GOING TO SEE ALL THE ROY ROGERS MOVIES AS A KID HE HAD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE
I didn't realize what a beautiful voice Dale Evens had when I was a kid. I always thought they were so square, but now it's refreshing as this age is so crass. They are like comfort food.
I never realized how beautiful of a voice Roy had!
@@sunnieemerson6814 Roy WAS one of the original Sons of the Pioneers before he left to build his solo career. So yes, before anything, his first ticket to show business was indeed his voice.
@@whenthecowboysings I cannot thank you enough for sharing this amazing music.!!! I miss those wonderful people and those times.
God Bless You and Happy Trails!
❤🤠🐎🎵🎶❤
I was surprised by Pat Brady.
Square, they never were, actually the opposite; very popular w/ all of us who were young kids at the time. In elementary school, there were a couple of us who would sometimes wear our official Roy Rogers shirts [w/ the fringe] to school & everyone liked them as there wasn't anyone that didn't like the Roy Rogers Show. *wish I had kept just 1 of those shirts; it'd be framed & hanging on my wall for sure! Comfort food for the spirit : ) yes, indeed.
I couldn't be happier! Peaceful, wonderful music and singing. Thanks Roy, Dale and company!
I had afternoon kindergarten in the early 70’s. I REFUSED to get on the bus until I watched Roy Rogers! My mom made Mac and cheese and that was the ONLY time I was allowed to eat away from the table. Great days!
@@TERoss-jk9ny Yeah, sounds like a great time. I remember Roy, Dale, Pat Brady and the rest. Hero's that a kid could look up to. Wish we still had them, take care.
Sons of The Pioneers were and are the greatest Western group of all time ⏲️
Mighty lord I’m old! This just gives me lovely flash backs of the 40s and my grandparents house in Oklahoma!
What an awesome display of courtesy and kindness they made.
Great medley of cowboy songs, Dale Evens' solo was superb! I grew up with them, Gene, Hoppy and Tonto. Good times!
Entertainers with CLASS! Sure do miss the wholesomeness of these folks! Thanks for sharing this video.
To know that they had a ranch where they adopted children who were physically or mentally chalenged
Awesome
Here was a well polished production, very complex, done with professionalism by all. This is back when such things were done live, in one take, and unedited--it was live, perfect the first time. I wonder how old they were here--they looked and sounded great into their old age, you'd be surprised to find how old they were here. People don't know how Roy lived his life--he was so accomplished in many areas--he was an avid hunter, shooter, he would decide to enter a trap-shooting event for example, and at days end he would often be a finalist, one of the last competitors, shooting against professionals who did little else but shoot trap. He may not always win, but he competed against pros and made it look easy.
Thanks for sharing... What memories of "The King of the Cowboys and Queen of the West."
Excelente programa de TV!!!😊😊😊
I think this is the first time I have seen Dale Evans all gussied up in a gown! She's beautiful!
She started out as big band singer, and wore some slinky outfits. She was also married twice or three times before Roy.
@@jacobfranz1204 pp
She was married several times, once when she was 16. He was married two times before. The second marriage ended when his wife died in childbirth. But, that said, Roy and Dale were married 50 years. Successful life but so many tragedies.
Wish this MUSIC was today's music. Just shows that great music will last forever. What you hear today might last a month or two then gone forever.
Most of today's so called music sounds like a badly loaded washing machine
Oh you might be called a Christian or even decent if this was your music. How horrible.
@@Forevertrue Not everyone wants to be called a Christian especially if they are of another religion. For anyone reading this I wish you to be inscribed in The Book of Life for health, happiness, and wealth. Those that understand these words know who I'm talking to.
When things were a bit simpler, I remember watching Roy Rodgers and hi show when I was a kid. Great time to have lived in this era..
The old Hollywood Palace Show. Every Saturday night got great entertainment
Back when our Heroes and Role Models had class and stood for GOODNESS,GOD & LOVE. Believing in helping others.
Great to see entertainers with real talent, unlike today.
Sadly, this version of America is long gone.
It's actually heartbreaking. Knowing what we were and what we are now.
@@tikitavi7120 Yes my dear, my heart is broken too.
Robert Rowland Not as long as we remember and share it
@@tikitavi7120 just wait until trump is finished with you all
Someday the Lord will bring it back.
Roys voice was so unique, just beautiful!
Nice key change for Dale Evans in "It Happened In Monterey". Just lovely stuff. Roy Rogers. Sons Of The Pioneers. Great Great Great.
Pat Brady on bass. Pat was Roy's comic sidekick on the TV show.
Ohhh how I miss those days!
Wow! That was really awesome and beautiful! They(the world) don't write really good music like that anymore.
I used to watch these kind of movies when I was a kid. God, I miss those days. Roy Rodgers, Gene Autry , The Lone Ranger, and Sky King.
That was great, thanks! In my "baby book", my mother recorded that when I was about 4-5 years old I wanted to "be" Roy Rogers when I grew up. She said I was okay until sometime later when I learned there could be only one...Roy Rogers. She was right. haha.
This was just before my time, but still in the 60s when I was born, I know even then time was so much greater, easier and enjoyable. Can we bring back those kind of days again, well it starts with you and I.
My mom grew up watching Roy and Dale and she used to sing the songs to me when I was young. Now I walk my dog singing "I got tags that jingle jangle jingle, as I go walking merrily along" to her, all because of those memories.

Real good western music
Still one of my favourite after all these years
A wonderful treat to hear these talented singers of the forties and fifties! Thank you.
Wow them's some shiny sparkly duds! Happy trails Roy, Dale, Trigger, Buttercup and Bullit and least we forget good old Gaby Hays. Ride On!
Remember Roy's "sidekick" Pat Brady, and his jeep Nelliebelle? Pat was also a member of The Sons of the Pioneers!
And Ken Curtis (Festus from Gunsmoke) was the lead singer of the Sons of the Pioneers from 49’ to 52’
@@johnheinrich1718 Yes he was, and also appeared in John Wayne's Rio grande (he sang the song "I Will Take You Home, Kathleen", and also co-stared in The Green Beret's)!
Jack: Remember Pat Brady (he's the one on the Base Fiddle)??
Ken Curtis was in some of John Wayne movies that were directed by John Ford, Ken’s father-in-law. Ken was married to John Ford’s daughter.
Thank you You tube for bringing these greats to us.Well done. One of my all time favourites
Muito bonito este show; esta dupla marcou minha infância e adolescência!
Bom ver brasileiros por aqui🤠
Glenn Johnson Growing up in the fifties, always loved cowboy music and the western films. How wonderful to find tonight, all this great footage, recently restored.Feel just like all my birthdays have arrived at once.Awesome and greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
In 1932 Leonard Sly, Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer formed a trio and called themselves The Pioneer Trio. In 1935 Sly now known as Roy Rogers went solo and began his highly successful movie career. Nolan and Spencer hired brothers Karl and Hugh Farr and became The Sons of The Pioneers. Because of their association and friendship with Rogers they were also signed to appear in most of the Roy Rogers movies. In 1936 Tim Spencer left( returned in 1938) and Bob Nolan recruited Lloyd Perryman . This line up was the most noted and recognizable and were together for several years. Bob Nolan retired in 1947 and was replaced by Ken Curtis as lead singer. Curtis later played Festus Hagen on Gunsmoke.
Roy Rogers sang backup for Ken Curtis for the song Room full of Roses. Ken Curtis later played the part of Festus
This is the way it should be. It calmed you down, took your mind away from the clutter, which now is mainstream.
Pat Brady playing the bass fiddle. "Whoa Nelly Belle!"
Pioneers were the very best of their genre.
Wow that real entertainment
So refreshing to hear real music
you think this is real music? Have you not heard Portal's Glumurphonel?
Phyro McBruce, Esq. Out of all bands out there, you really had to choose Portal. Respect my dude.
I really miss my Roy Rogers gun belt with my matching white-handled cap guns. I miss Roy!

This is real Country Western Music. Nowadays it is Crap!!!
Yeah its warmed over pop.
Country music is just as good today as it was back then it's just changed like everything else. The wonder of country music today is it has a much larger audience and it's ever had.
I sure love Roy And Dale, brings back such good memories.
Very good Wanderful. Brazil

They were a wonderful couple
Hello mary
Roy was my hero when I was a boy. Still is.
really brilliant loved this
Didn't realize what a good guitarist that guy was when I watched as a kid. Sweet.
I wanted to be roy or the long ranger when i was a kid
I dressed as Dale Evans for Halloween when i was about 6! I thought I was totally cool. Good role models for us to have. They were good people. Angel Unaware was the first book I ever read that wasn't one of those dumb books we were given at schools about Dick and Jane and their dog Spot. I later became drawn to working with those with developmental disabilities and especially worked with a performance group as a Director of young adults who had Downs Syndrome called Movin' On. I have to think learning so young about Robin Evans planted a seed in me when I may have been only 10 years old or so. I think I should find a copy and give it to my 8-year old grandaughter who has just read all the Harry Potter books! A bit more advanced than I was at 8. . .
That's "Lone Ranger"!
Lone Ranger...one of my heroes...
Alvaro Jr. njji
Pat Tomlinson has
What a love story Roy and Dale had and a malicious marriage. Great couple
I miss them so much...
Hello Ruth
What a beautiful thing, congratulations.
" happy trails everyone !"
1957 HAPPY TRAILS ROY ROGERS AND DALE EVANS
Recall seeing Roy /Dale on Hee Haw circa 70-80s. Boy, they were great. Nice seeing what country music used to be. Not sure what the end result is with current genre of country music. Just watch the Opry Show. Can't have country music and Opry in the same sentence any more.
Gene Autry was the first super singing cowboy. Roy Rogers play bit parts in Gene Autry movies before becoming a star. And he really had a more soothing voice.
Unknown Civility these days. They were so beautiful...
True talent and oh such entertainment. :)
MARAVILHOSO. THANK YOU FROM BRASIL
Roy jr.(Dusty) Rogers, still tours with the current Son's of the Pioneers & will be in Artesia,N.M. in February & I already have my tickets reserved!
I love that this video came up in my feed.
I used to love the 1950's Christmas Carols as a child! Life seemed so nice back then. Now we have rap!
I don't have rap. I still listen to music like this.
Thank you for bring this us. Good people.
Love it. Grew up on the Sons of the Pioneers. Just wish this was a live performance rather than lip syncing!
This was live at the time!!!
This was absolutely LIVE
Sounds great
Thank you for this gem.
Roy Lanham's guitar is rockin.
This Is a Great & Good Man,,, Very Few In Hollywood,,, James Arness,,, "The Duke",,, "Bobby Duvall,,,

Some of the best music
I miss those day's, the garbage they have today doesn't hold a candle to this!!! In case anyone is interested, Ken Kurtus was a member of the Son's of the Pioneers. when he co-stared in the John Wayne movie "Rio Grande", beautiful voice... who ever thought that Festus could sing!!!
That's Pat Brady on the bass Roy's TV show sidekick!
