Fourth listen: Ear worm. Can’t stop listening. Beats are incredible, lyrics sensational. Earls best project. Fifth listen: Sensational.
Jaden Waters mannn. I just can’t get passed the first listen bro. Like i feel you. But i should love it on the first or second pass 😂. I don’t like to have to force anything
@@fumblefumble99 was it because his rhymes and beats were ultra experimental ultra abstract or was it because the whole entire album was 21 minutes long ??
He performed with Tyler so many times in between Idlsidgo and posted pics and ig stories with him, and he did the carnival this year and the year before they did earl wolf so it really is no beef at all
@@lapulga9000 Dude they weren't family I'm telling you😂😂 They not related in anyway bro Earl's father and Hugh Masekela were very close friends Trust me, I'm South African, I've done my research bro
December 24 is my favorite piece of art but I truly enjoy the entire project. You have to listen to this as a whole instead of jumping around, the thoughts are separate yet congruent.
With all the things going on his life, just naming it SRS was bound to happen. Says a lot about his mental state even before listening to "Some Rap Songs"
Its a classic that wont be recognized on a larger scale as a classic for at least a few years. Buts it's definitely a classic. The production itself is so out there and forward moving, yet so well done. Not to mention the way he spits over these beats. These arent easy beats to spit over, especially because they are loops, and he did it with ease. All while strongly expressing emotion through both lyrics and sound/production. Its honestly incredible.
I doubt Earl was talking about Tyler, he did a whole show with him earlier this year and it was all Old Odd Future songs. Tyler also said that they were still on good terms in 2015.
my favorite track is red water not only because of his word play but because of his choice in the instrumental, you don't only hear the sadness in his voice you hear the imitation of cries and whining within the instrumental.
ontheway! (the ending of this track is one of the most beautiful sounds i have ever heard), cold summers, and the mint are my favorite right now but with classics like this it changes every week
MapleMilk I honestly couldn’t find any issues with the album. I find no reason not to give it a ten. It’s a love or hate situation tho, I know some people that just didn’t connect with the album at all
Riot gives me goosebumps Makes me just think of the storm clouds moving past and just seeing the sun come out for what feels like the first time in years. I feel like that’s what Earl was going for.
Black Zarak I love how those are not my top 3 at all. To me, that’s the sign of a classic album. When everyone can choose a favorite and they don’t coincide. I’m all about Red Water, Cold Summer, and December 24. Hoping the others will grow on me to match them.
I loved this album the moment it dropped, I remember hearing Nowhere2go when he dropped it as a single and it blew me away. Then some years later after not hearing it for a while I revisited it and the second Azucar came on I burst into tears man, the second the beat started. That whole album is a masterclass back to front
“Riot” you get to the end of the album and then that instrumental starts playing, you get a sense of a new mindset and you just feel so fresh, that album will cleanse your soul
1. _December 24_ (No question) 2. _Shattered Dreams_ 3. _Nowhere2go_ 4. _Red Water_ 5. _Ontheway!_ (I swear his flow sounds exactly like Lil B on this song, just way more lyrical. If you never were a fan of Lil B, don't reply to this statement).
December 24 my favorite off the album because it's earl exuding his anger and a few negative emotions all while being insanely lyrical with on point delivery, just to make his point. You can hear that he's mad about being dissapointed for one reason or another, however he accepts that he's made mistakes and he implies that he's learned from them and is still determined to rise even higher. It's very motivational and relatable for a nigga like me
I love Nowhere2go because it can be read as “No where to go” or Now here to go” as in wake is here and ready to go and come back to us after such a hard year
I love Tyler but I honestly feel like something shady happened. Not only did earl have an issue with T at one point but everyone forgot when hodgy openly trash talked him at CAMP FLOG GNAW
Brad Knowles Cole said that could still happen. Said just not now or any time soon because of the timing of where their careers took off. He said he takes blame for that though because he put that energy out there.
I think it may have just been tyler being mad disrespectful over the time earl was gone in boarding school.. in a lot of songs tyler is kinda dissing his moms and there was a time when fans were doing the same. That honestly could have hurt the relationship. but who knows.
He was not talking about Tyler, or any member of OF, I’m not sure who he’s talking about but remember his father left when he was 8, he has a love/hate/grief relationship with him and it could be directed at him. Also Knxwledge is possible since they had a falling out after appearing to be so close.
Good video overall, but regarding #5: How tf did you read any signs of conflict within OF into the lyrics of The Bends. If anything, it's a vague description of their quick rise to success and a relatively uplifting ode to their comradery in general. That is, if he's even talking about OF, the lyrics don't specify that if you ask me... Also, Loosie sounds like Earl is speaking on the importance of honest dialogue over hearsay or basic fallacies and moreover his general disability to connect with people who resemble the vapid character traits he has grown past himself.
The lines mentioned in point number 5 is clearly referring to the beef with Hodgy, not to Tyler. Soured my perspective of this whole video after the lack of actual research there.
I feel like the album title could also be a reference to Burgundy from Doris, which starts off with someone saying “Don’t nobody care about how you feel! “Riot!” is such a great ending for the album, a bittersweet triumph.

Media gotta stop tryna pin Earl against Tyler and vice versa like they ain't BEEN supporting each other throughout the years, smdh
Too true
Facts
Exactly. He was just with Tyler last Christmas
And you could see Tyler posting Earl’s Music on his Insta story when Some Rap Songs came out, even posting an article to his story about Earl’s Album
Starting drama over nothing even saying track 8 talks about his negative feelings towards Odd Future like where did you see that?
“See the ghost of where I was, lonesome as I was.”
Always hits hard
Earl sometimes looks 30 years old. But then sometimes looks 17 or something.
Hippo nothing has been more true
That’s fax, like in the oldie video he looks like 16 but then in like other vids he looks like he’s 35 or sum
he has an old soul, no doubt
EthanPlays YT cause he was dummy
i mean he’s 25, for someone that’s been around since 2008, he’s really young
If you don’t care about Earl’s life or wellbeing, the casual listener will not be a fan of this album. Classic nonetheless.

Tyler was hyping Earl's Album before it's release, along with Frank Ocean. It seems like Earl maybe talking about someone else.

Could be Domo. Who knows?
