Dr. Sugai Explains: Hair Loss and RedRestore’s LLLT Laser Cap

  • Alopecia or hair loss is a common issue amongst males and females. It can be due to many factors or diseases. One condition is androgenetic alopecia (in men) or female pattern alopecia. More than 50% of men deal with androgenetic alopecia.
    Here I discuss a newer treatment option objectively that has studies behind it to show its efficacy and could be an option for both male and female balding/hair loss: Low-level laser therapy in the form of a cap that you can wear in the convenience of your own home. I emphasize that there is no “magic bullet” in treating hair loss but when you combine these available options as instructed, you may see results over several months of consistent use. The goal is to maintain the hair density you have at th moment but if you see hair regrowth with increased thickness, that is a bonus! I will also go over the hair cycle and the proposed mechanisms of action of low-level laser therapy. I also mention systematic reviews and papers that help support the science behind this technology.
    This laser cap is convenient as you can use it at home (does not look like a space helmet like some other brands) and it is FDA cleared. It needs to be done on a consistent basis for it to potentially work. Not everyone will have results with any particular treatment and thus speak with your skin doctor on these treatment options especially before you jump in to invest in a device with your hard earned money. Please see your board certified dermatologist if you are having hair loss that is rapid or causing scarring. This video does not replace a visit with your doctor.
    For more details please check out their website at redrestore.com for pricing.
    This video was sponsored by RedRestore. Despite its sponsorship, I still want to remain objective with my discussion on the technology of LLLT in this video.

    Your video gave me the incentive to stick with the LLLT cap. I was getting so despondent about the perceived hair loss on my scalp, since using the cap. Started about 1 1/2 months ago. Overall, I do not see extra hair in the sink, just my midline part seems so wide. My old strands of hair have a “barely-there” root, so tiny, surprised they don’t all fall out 😂😂
    Bless you for sharing this information.
    Will continue now and pray for the best.

    Been using my cap for two years straight from Bosley. I have not noticed any new hair regrowth. Why do I keep using it? I wanna think that it’s working and I don’t wanna lose hope. But I’m reality, this was a waste of money. $2k worth. That 2k could have gone to a hair transplant which is the only way to get new hair. But that’s just my personal opinion. I did try the rogaine and biotin. Maybe it did slow the process down but just get the hair transplant right away and spend the money where it matters the most.

      Same. I spent around 900 euro on the official Lazercap one from my hair doctor. I can't tell if it's done anything . I bought it maybe 4 years ago. I mean it's so hard to tell because I've been on and off other meds . I hope it's doing something anyway yes. This year I have been more consistent with it. If anything I think it is meant to prolong the growing phase of hair. But not my a massive amount

    • @ltgutie11
      @ltgutie11 3 роки тому +1

      @@user-tz8pf4pd4q I’ve missed maybe 4 days within two years. I’ve been hella consistent with it. I use it everyday for 6 minutes. I compared pictures of my hair two years ago and damn I had more and thicker hair. Maybe if I didn’t use the laser cap when I started it I would be complete bald, who knows. It just didn’t pan out for me.

    PSA: Illumiflow is a less known, but older company (one of the pioneers for FDA clearance) for laser caps. They are acually cheaper than Redrestore. The caps look identical. Even the hat. I can vouch for Illumiflow costumer service. They took care of me when my cap had a malfunction. Now that's quality costumer service. (I had a malfunction because I bought a refurbished...I'm pretty sure that's what contributed)
