The first thing I thought about hearing "the moon is gone" was Mio (M) saying there is no moon during the night before the Eclipse when she's talking to Noah and calling him by name for the first time

Did anyone else replay Torna recently? It actually has a lot of Xenoblade 3 foreshadowing. When Addam and Lora are talking about controlling Mythra’s power on the ship balcony, Addam says “If only time would stop and afford us that chance.” Malos also says “Deep down, humans all wish they were dead. They see the divine flame of life and piss over it.” I don’t know about the part about humans wishing they were dead, (part of me thinks that may have been referring to an earlier version of 3’s plot) but the pissing on life part, as well as what Addam says, are clearly what Moebius is best at. So even approximately 700 years before the worlds merged, the feelings that gave rise to Moebius were already there. And don’t get me started on 2’s ending song. “I don’t care how or when, just grant me a time with the man that I love.” Yeah, Moebius.
I think the lyrics are more of a testament to how the consistent the Xeno series has been with its themes over the years.

Maybe Tomorrow and Small Two of Pieces are the Xeno songs that successfully made me cry a lot. Beyond the Sky and one last you did not make me cry but Beyond the Sky did make me drop one tear.... then came Xenoblade 3's ending theme Where We Belong and yup that made me cry... not as much as Maybe Tomorrow and Small Two of Pieces but it made me cry. And you know what the reason was? It is because how similar it is to Maybe Tomorrow and now seeing your video on this has convinced me I wasn't crazy but to see you apply Maybe Tomorrow to other characters in the game is something I never thought of and it is incredibly interesting since pre release I did suggest Moebius (Xenogears Japanese ending theme) is going to be used for this game in the end and it 1000% was! But I never thought Maybe Tomorrow would ALSO fit the whole game. You my friend deserve a pat on the back for this amazing video! I'm sure all Xeno fans will appreciate it even if Maybe Tomorrow is also very fitting for why we will never get a Xenosaga remake... :(

Great video, I also found myself picking up a resemblance between Xenoblade 3 and Drifting Soul's lyrics after listening to it since, specifically N/M with the line "Among the mist I see a stretching path" referencing the split path N chooses when he becomes Moebius, and I see it from the perspective of M from the lines "So tell me why I'm here and what's the reason I am here today, If I recall it was you, you wished that I would stay", it being N that wished for M. I haven't done a much deeper analysis than this through the whole song, but it's really interesting to see the themes present in the songs' lyrics carry throughout the series.
A solar eclipse can only happen during a NEW moon, when the moon is gone. So that night in the cell PERFECTLY fits those first few lines.
Not 100% sure but I think Y's death lines are very similar to Jin's in Xenosaga

This is why I lie to myself that xenosaga and xenoblade are in the same continuity. It helps me sleep at night.
Talking about previous Xeno music in dannagh desert you can hear a bit of Lahan’s theme in the night area theme. Which aside from being an area from Torna that shouldn’t exist and a song that shouldn’t exist in a xenoblade game, thinking about what happens to both Torna and Lahan and the similarities in how each is destroyed it hits a little different.
I just finish xenosaga 3 recently and I thought the same thing. Also for the moon is gone line it could relate to this quote from 3

Just looked back at XC2 ending song, and dayum, you can analyze it as well in a context of XC3 😯 "the very end of eternity. The final day has come to an end, it's gone for good." "The frozen time began to flow". Seems to remind me of a certain something 🤔
