      If you haven't already, try the artist loft markers! I've tried them and for beginners great, but not very good quality on the brush nib.

    I have a few and they’re really cool! They’re cheaper than Copics, which is always a plus! They also have a brush tip and the color selection is pretty amazing! I really like them, and I loved seeing you draw this beautiful mermaid!

    I'm sure marker heads will get this idea once you said you were able to pull off the tops, but if you put rubbing alcohol in these babies, you can still get some major use in them. The colors dilute after awhile, but not as fast as I've noticed with Prismacolor markers. Sorry, I'm a huge cheap skate when it comes to markers, and I literally milk all the product out as much as I can!
    I love how soft your marker pieces are. These markers are wonderful but they can kind of get... edgy at times? I'm not sure what the right word is for them. But you make the colors so buttery looking!

    Hi! This was a lovely video and I hope you have a nice day! I was considering these markers before but didn't know what to do. Especially about the scents. I get headaches if I use strong scented markers for too long and I usually only use my prismacolors on a every-so-often basis due to this. Again, great video and have a nice day or week. Whichever comes first.

    I’m actually kinda early for once!! I love your channel very much and i hope you continue to do reviews like this! You should make a review on the Studio71 markers and compare them to the Bick studio illustration markers as they seem to be almost identical! The names are very similar and they have the same type of barrel, nibs I’ve noticed.

    • @MissKerrieJ
      @MissKerrieJ  6 років тому +1

      Thank you!!! I have the Studio71 markers and will be doing a review on them (they will probably be my next review), they actually are incidental to the Blick Illustrator markers and a few other brands of markers that I own as well, so I'll talk about that during my review. :)

      From what I heard the Artist’s Loft markers are almost identical to the Studio 71. I’m not sure how true this is though. Also the Artist’s Loft ones are cheaper on eBay. They sell the 24 set at Michaels for $70, they are $20 or so on eBay.

    I have never tried these as I'm both poor and not sure where to get them where I live. I do would love to one day try them out.
    Personally I do really like greys but I do agree that it sounds like a bit much for the set.

    Are there pro/cons to using these over copics? How do you decide which markers you'll use? Why would you choose these over copics?
    Just curious because I'm very interesting in learning to color with markers and really don't want to splurge on getting a ton of copics.

    • @MissKerrieJ
      @MissKerrieJ  6 років тому +1

      The main pro of these markers is that they are considerably cheaper than Copics. Especially if you're just learning to color with markers, there is no need to spend a bunch of money on Copics until you know for sure that you want to invest in them (they are definitely an investment). Cons? Nothing that a new marker user would notice - they aren't refillable and the color selection isn't as large, but those are really trivial things. They can also be used alongside Copics, they blend very well together - so in future you could add Copics to your collection if you wanted. How do I personally choose which markers to use? It usually just depends on how I'm feeling when I start to work on an illustration, what type of nibs I want to work with and the types of colors I need. If I were a beginner, I would choose these if I was looking to make a small investment in a marker set and wanted a nice color selection to start out with, knowing that I can add more markers to my collection at a later time. I didn't learn to color with markers using Copics (I started with Prismacolors), I always recommend starting out with something that is less expensive to see if markers are for you, then, if you feel it's right, moving to something more expensive later on. These are one of the best Copics dupes out there (along with the Neopiko-2 Markers) that I have found. They are very good markers. Hope that helps a bit. :)

    I only wish I had found out about Blick before I purchased my Copics, but at least I didn't go hog wild on them. However, Blick, like Ohuhu and Copc, all have one major flaw in my opinion: They tend to turn out fair skinned people who look orangish! What is up with that? Does anyoone use any colors for fair skin that you find to be more true to life?
