Faking an Acoustic Guitar With Vital

- I've always wanted to use more guitar in my songs, but never had a convincing digital one to use. In this video I attempt to make one using the free Vital synth (or rather 7 instances of it)
As a guitar player... thanks. Now I don't have to play guitar anymore!
😭lmaooo
I'm sure your guitaring is still way better than this 💪
@@2L3L I just can't wait to get back home and start producing with it, I've had so many ideas on vacation but haven't had FL in front of me
I'm kinda surprised that this is even possible, well done
Haha thank you! You can pretty much make any sound from scratch given enough effects at your disposal, which is why sound design is so fun :)
I was halfway through the video as I realised, my mouth was wide open almost the entire time. WOW, this is amazing.,
Absolutely amazing sound design really good job!!
Deserves more recognition
thank you so much!
speechless... Your talent is infinite. Pls keep making this videos ;)
:)) thank you (again) !! ill definitely keep making stuff, this is only the beginning (hopefully haha)
Yes!! Wow, now I'm ready for full epic song featuring this unprecedentedly deluxe new guitar.
Does sound amazing.
this is amazing. you are a genius
tyyyy crow!!!
Aaaaa it's out, AMAZING!!!!!
Amazing ! thanks so much for sharing 😄👍
This is wild!
thank you so much :)
amazing
this is so inspiring to watch
thank you!!
Both your skills and enormous patience are quite admirable!
thank you haha! the actual guitar making part only took like 2 days and then the video editing was most of the work lol
@@2L3L My first synth was a Sequential Pro One that I bought used in 1983. Lots of knob tweaking for every sound. These days, I search for a preset that's close enough to what I hear in my head and only tweak it as necessary. 🙂
You are a genius
wow, found you from “we stopped thinking big” this is an awesome audio experiment
thank you, and welcome!!
Incredible
thank you cool will you are very cool for that
Woooooah!! Impressivo!!
thank you! glad you liked it
Big video. Huge
Wow this is insanely impressive! How does this sound better than most digital guitars?? On a software that seems to be intended for synths!
thank you! there are definitely some better sounding digital guitars (i use roland cloud terra guitar, discontinued so it's free), but yeah I'm happy with how this one came out! if i ever get a physical modeling synth that would be fun to make an even more realistic guitar on haha
@@2L3L I'm just getting into vital and I didnt think it was so versatile!
you are a frocking magician
eyyy thank you! i appreciate it :)
Man! You are a genius!
Bro do you have an insta account?
@@amines_wav I do yeah! I don't use it super often at the moment but it's @2landl
@@2L3L Ah I see. I'd love to connect with you man! I'm a music producer too. Maybe I could share some of my work with you.
@@amines_wav oh yeah sure! If you have discord that's what I normally use, I'm 2L&L#3290 on there!
@@2L3L Oh sure man! I'm HYU there.
Could you add a link to the patch? That would be so amazing please!
I normally would, but this patch is 7 instances and requires a lot of 3rd party vsts after the synthesis to shape the sound!
For guitar in general I recommend Ample Guitar M Lite which is a free sample-based guitar that sounds really good and a lot better than what I made here :)
What type of black magic did you use to get this amazing sound??? 😂
I failed to properly replicate the basic guitar sound, with my guitar sounding like a banjo instead of an acoustic guitar 😅
yeah in my first attempts I had alot of banjo sounds as well haha! main things are getting the eq of the harmonic series right, and making the pluck have more of an attack time, banjos have smaller strings that are easier to pluck so it would make sense for short attack times to sound like them!
You’re supposed to put a link to download the preset in the description.
i am evil (its like 7 presets and requires a bunch of 3rd party vsts so its not really something that can be sharable unfortunately haha)
Can I get the preset??
unfortunately this guitar uses like 7 vital instances and a lot of 3rd party vsts to make the final sound, its more of an experiment than a finished product haha
if you want just like a good guitar for normal use though then ample guitar m lite 2 is great and sounds significantly better than what I've made here (it's sampled, not synthesized though)
Where can we find the presets?
This video is more of an experiment than like a super usable setup, it requires a bunch of third party vsts to shape the sound after the vital presets, and the presets themselves fake like 80% of your CPU. Because of that I'm not providing them anywhere. But for a good realistic guitar I would recommend the free Ample Guitar M Lite! It's what I use when I use guitars in songs at the moment.
@@2L3L alright then, thanks for keeping our CPUs not getting angry and for the suggestion. Hope the best , God bless
Where do I get this preset's?)
they aren't really practical to put/sell anywhere because they were mainly made as an experiment and use like a ridiculous amount of CPU lolll because it's a rack of like 7 instances. Also it uses some paid plugins for post processing and whatnot.
For a good free guitar I would recommend the discontinued and thus free Roland Cloud Terra Guitar! Fairly annoying to install but sounds great once you have it :)
Thanks so much for the advice) @@2L3L
of course!! glad I could help :)
Where can I download the terra guitar?
Are you selling this preset at all? It sounds amazing
I am not currently, but in the future I may put it up on Patreon! My main concern is that since this uses like 7 vital instances as well as some paid plugins it would not be a very out of the box product haha
@@2L3L haha maybe you could bounce it and put it in a sampler?
@@spatulawithcurd5051 I suppose I could like bounce every note and then have it trigger separately but that would be quite annoying to to lol
After I made this video I found a great guitar vst that sounds better than it anyway haha, it's a discounted product on Roland Cloud so it's free, although also kinda annoying to install
@@2L3L yeah true that’s totally fair. Really awesome video!!
@@2L3L roland cloud is not free.
Nice result, but I think the way you showed the method wasn't explained enough. Some of the steps (such as what the envelopes had to be connected to) were just skipped.
yeah, this is more of a showcase/experiment video than a full tutorial! I was learning the methods as I went along, something like this is probably a bit overkill to make in a tutorial video since it uses like 7 vital instances haha
@@2L3L Will you do a tutorial in the future? I'll be fine with seven instances.
Bowed solo violin next please 🎉
I've wanted to try doing that, at some point I may give it a go but it seems a lottt harder than a guitar without using a synth that has actual simulation of a string and bow setup
black magic
wait until you see the guy who made like the super realistic phase plant flute i am but a fraction of that power
downloads?
there aren't downloads for these as they take a bunch of 3rd party plugins for the sound processing and use a lot of CPU. Id recommend Ample Guitar M Lite if you want a good free guitar vst!! It's better than what I have here in terms of realism because it's sampled, this is mainly just an experiment:)
I was just asking since my friend gpt inspired to do the same as you did since he has been trying to make a good guitar with vital...
Your fake acoustic guitar here reminds me of Culprate’s guitar. I wonder if he made his own as well…
a sampler might be more appropriate. there is "grace" which is complete and free. Otherwise you can just create the attack and do the timbre part with the waves.
yeah for sure there are better more realistic ways to make guitars, from a synthesis perspective like physical modeling synth would be a lot better. But I thought it would be a fun challenge haha and I think it came out at least somewhat realistic
i normally use terra guitar on Roland cloud for my songs when I need guitar ! (it is like a discontinued product so it's free)
its like watching magic o.o but at like.. light speed.. xD
trust me it was not light speed in the moment the raw footage was like 7 hours long 😭 and that was after another batch of around the same time doing my first attempt for practice
@@2L3L 😂 i dont doubt that xD
:O
:o
Free preset please
since this guitar was mainly an experiment and uses like 7 different vital patches and 3rd party vsts it would not really be feasible to sell or give out, sorry
roland cloud's terra guitar is a good free one you can get though! (bit hard to install since it's one of their like discontinued plugins but they have a section for that in their software)
@@2L3L Thanks for the recommendation :)
Sounds way better than FL slayer lmao
why was i born
@AZALI00013 i got another one for you 👍
interesting but impossible to follow with the video.
yeah it's definitely a bit fast loll, it was never meant to be a tutorial although I assume people are finding it while looking for tutorials. more just like a sound exploration/making of video to show how I roughly approached making the guitar. there were tons of little tweaks off camera as well between stages so you would be correct that it is fully impossible to follow exactly lmaoo
