0:14 so Chris Hemsworth is capable of summoning lightning on set? Cool
@Don I knew it.
Hahahah I was thinking the same thing
I’m assuming what’s happening is that a different vfx company did the lightning, and weta only did the background in that shot. So they probably don’t want the reel to look as if they did all of it.
There's an actual clip of him on set and in the distance you can hear thunder rumbling, and Chris goes 'sorry guys that was me' and then bursts into laughter over his own joke. It's amazing
Ahahaah
badass right ;^)
Cool. Wish we actually got to see more of the VFX, not just 5 or 6 frames of BTS.
A "Making Endgame" documentary going through the aspect of making the most iconic movie of this decade would be nice.
@@nafisfuadkhan "most iconic movie of this decade" Lol
@@nafisfuadkhan It wasn't even "The most iconic film of last week"
tryptychUK what how was it bad at all!? It was the best movie ever🤦♂️
@@nivainalahakone722 How about zero plot, crap dialogue, crap acting etc etc.
Seriously pal, how old are you?
Grow up.
Proof that Giant-Man is real in our universe and so are leviathans! 1:19
.... ;P
Chris Hemsworth was electrocuted for real, he handled it as a pro.
the screams of aggression portray the reality of the pain coursing through his entire body
@@harrytucker2741 do you know what coursing to my veins The lightning...... I guess he wasnt kidding
i've seen a few weta reels and what i've found consistent is that, weta is always given the big finales (aka the best part of the movie) not surprised they give them the big sendoffs for all the marvel movies.
They did give us the Lord of The Rings' battles after all.
You folks are the best special effects company in the world.
No, that would still be ILM, but they probably come second.
They are masters, that's for sure. But don't discredit the other VFX studios! ILM, digital domain, framestore, method studios, dneg, etc. They all had a big part in making the film the best that it can be
Weta really are the BEST at these visual effects
Double negative's fx looks real
Weta Digital once again for providing the creation of Thanos the Mad Titan in Avengers: Endgame!
0:40 look at that guy with the CGI suit on the right next to Bucky, he disappeared...
that's the "invisible man"
I bet that's Rocket Raccoon, and they just slap him on to shoulder of War Machine
it was supposed to be groot, u can see the weapon on that guy's hand is same as groots, they later replaced kraglin's place to groot..
Thats Spider-Man After sonys new deal
something strange is happening to Thor...
I love that the “MASSIVE” software is still being used today. I love you weta and Peter Jackson keep up the great work and innovation!
Tony's snap made that 'Icon of Sin' *shwippp* noise from the last level of Doom II. :)
Thanks for sharing, but please look at what some of the other companies did in their Endgame VFX breakdowns. I'm sure I speak for many when I say we'd appreciate more BTS and breaking down of things.
The doomsday battle from BVS also comes from WETA i think, and its crazy how the CGI looks and feels so different coming from the same visual effects company. Much credits to the directors and the visual effects supervisors from Marvel. Also I think WETA is always at its best for a Peter Jackson film.
Weta Digital did most of the final act, with the exception of Captain Marvel destroying the alien ships, and the water, dam magic sequence.

*Avengers.........Assemble 🤩😱💥*
*Gives is movie for Oscar!!*
Best Visual Effects and Best original song conteders.
The portals scene is the most iconic scene in the history of cinema and this NZ based company got the chance to do the VFX works. Awesome
Srinath Sriram if you think that’s the most iconic scene in the history of cinema means you haven’t watched a lot...
Srinath Sriram “History of cinema” 😂
Sorry, but isn't
It's a bad ass scene no doubt but I definitely wouldn't go that far
@@antoniocastrojimenez8366 It was either that or the Lego Movie.
insane to me that weta digital did the charge of the rohirrim and avengers assemble. 20 years of incredible work. weta is truly a gift to movies.
Avengers: Endgame weaves the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe saga together in the biggest superhero movie of all time.
Weta Digital is responsible for the climactic final battle that plays out in the rubble of the Avengers compound. Their work features the biggest battle ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with almost every hero and villain unleashing their full potential.
Even if most of the stuff in movies is just VFX, I love to see that there is still a good mixture of acting and good VFX existing in cinema!
yep and we so used to CGI that sometimes we think that we are seeing CGI, but its actual practical effects. I was really surprised when I found out that some specific scenes in Captain America: Civil War were practical and not CGI :) So that was awesome.
Weta did the whole endbattle scenes.. i thought it was ILM ..
GOOD JOB WETA..
Weta Digital wanted the individual fighting styles of each of the different warrior types: Wakandans, Asgardians, Sorcerers and Ravagers on the heroes side, and Chitauri, Outriders and Sakaarans on Thanos' side, to be reflected in the background fighting action in the final battle.
1:52 Icon of Sin
Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Infinity War and Endgame together -- are freak'n epic. Yes, better than Iron Man 3 lol. ☕
Why All of Avengers Endgame VFX Breakdowns are not so detailed, there are a lot of movies whose VFX breakdowns are of 2 - 3 minutes but they actually show their work with lot of details, test renders, compositing layer overlays. But this time all of studios' endgame vfx breakdowns looks like they are made in a hurry. I was expecting a detailed breakdown for captain marvel's aura, ironman's last scene, thanos's disintegration dynamics etc. But they showed everything in a hurry.
@Andres Bonilla yeah, agree with that. But I always go for detailed analysis.
@@nlshrmns usually this does not happen, but it might be the case
Framestone released a 5 min clip yesterday, it was quite detailed. Also, "Insiders" did a 20mins video on ENDGAME vfx - please watch that.
@@imshubhajit yeah, that's around a week old, I watched that, but only weta can upload their cool dynamics vfx breakdown. Framestore do have 5 minutes of vfx breakdown but they also mostly showed 3D wireframes, occlusions, muscle tissue system etc. 3D is heavily used in VFX, that's true but their VFX breakdown showed much more of 3D and less of actual VFX breakdown.
Cinesite did a pretty good job with their Avengers Endgame VFX Breakdown, have a look at their video
It is a question what do we have to espect for the next decade of marvel movies, or will it be the same because of the amount of movies etc/task
And about Ray tracing do we have to expect Ray tracing in movie and af course more frame, with the same quality of details?
@WetaDigital, can you please release something like this, but maybe an hour long? The blu-ray is so sparse.
Lovely, really well done effects, throughout the movie, from the make up and prosthetics up, it all looked great.
WETA masterpiece
ek din aaegaa jab weta digital vfx ki duniya me history creat kregaa.
0:42 Chris Evans going for the Bruce Campbell look.
"AVENGERS! ...
Groovy."
From Mexico with love
Gracias Weta
im happy thati too worked on this movie
You guys did a great job!
Even watching this at 0.25% you still need to watch it a few times, you see new things each time.....gotta love all who worked on this and infinity, their skills are awesome...well done to you all. 🏆👍🏼😊🍻
This is Beautiful;-;
Mind blowing superb
" Weta Digital " you are rock 😘 😘 😘 😘 😘 😘
0:09 I actually didnt know this was fully animated, I thought cap and Thor were real, thats pretty amazing
I'm more amazed by 0:14. Always thought lightnings were added post, but seems like Chris is really able to conjur lightnings. /s :D
Nice!
Question I was reading about the Snyder cut and star wars etc....
So the question is do we have to expect remaster of old movie or new movie, like an update or no for the future because of streaming possibilities?
1:44 play it at 0.25 speed
When 2 minutes become in 3 hours
Nobody wants to talk about Drax stabbing a giant pillow?
1:26 I like this. :)
0:19 why is the set even there if it's totally gonna be cg
Сколько же мурашек по телу ,аааа

What would happen if this scene was actually filmed on an open field with over 200 extras?
0:14 Impossible...
Cool
Who will win Oscars best vfx?
Endgame or The Irishman?
1:06 *Has anyone noticed that Spider-Man used Antman's hand for transportation?*
Finally
1:48 what was the reason all of that was CGI, even the RDJ's face. In Behind the scenes they showed him actually acting infront of green screen, but here its CGI
Robert's basic movement has to be match moved for this effect to work. This includes the head - but they dont render the head in a shot like this. It's just there for reference. Robert's performance is preserved and integrated with the match moved IronMan suit and gauntlet effects.
nice
Moar!
So are you the ones to blame for the mind stone not centering on Tony’s hand? Kidding aside I love seeing this kinda stuff.
God weta
0:09 Thanos deflects Mjolnir?
800th like :D
Amazing vfx
I wonder how many samples they used to render these out in Blender. Hmmm...
Shah Nawaz Blender isn’t industry standard.
Weta use a proprietary renderer called "Manuka".
Rdj forever
You're going waay too fast I wanna SEE how it's done
Nah,
I can do it in Movie Maker.
Sorry guys, this is a really confusing mess of a VFX reel.
Not only does it barely showcase the VFX and what was actually done, but there are times with partially composited VFX with a green screen that makes it hard to see what was actually BTS footage and what were things that Weta did. And it happens so fast that I can't even tell.
Not to mention the editing in this video is atrocious. Music doesn't line up, there are points at which all SFX gets turned off then suddenly turned back on.
All in all this video plays out like trying to remember a dream you just had that's rapidly being forgotten. I just can't make sense of it.
Nope. Your vfx's video is not good enough guys..sorry. DNEG shows some VFX videos and you see everything..You just show some 3D, VFX..just a lil bit. This is not fair.
fucking best
You see literally nothing in this video
You do, it's just quite little
434 No.Viewer
If it was only BTS shots this video would be 10 seconds long.
this movie was like 99% cgi except for that rat
Wouldn’t it be incredible if you could take a shot from the movie and completely re-skin the character?
It would be so cool if they took everyone from this sequence and turned them into the DC universe.
What the heck is wrong with one dislike?
Looks like video game cutsenes, to be honest. I swear the progress has been going backwards for a few years, now.
The technology and talents are making insane progress, it's just that directors/producers overdose on CGI... In other movies where CGI is used wisely and you will never see it.
@@corentinf8896 But for final act like this, CGI is really needed...
@@akmaldanial67When I say they overdose on CGI I'm also talking about the scene conception itself. They could come up with a final act that demands less CGI. The stories push it too hard. They already ask too much CGI as early as writing. And then go for full green screen etc to push vfx even more to their limit.
@@akmaldanial67 And I'm talking about using less CGI, not 0 of course
@@corentinf8896 But if they were to make such a final act, we wouldn't be able to see all the heroes together like how they were in the film and that really was a crowd pleasing moment...
If you can tell the CGI is CGI and not real, it's not good CGI. This isn't good CGI.
Because a real Hulk and Thanos would be better.
*sigh*
