I am falling more and more in love with hand work. I love embellishing it. Embroidery, slow stitching. I still machine piece and quilt, but more and CB more love hand quilting. Wish I had the space for a big quilt frame.
Я тоже люблю больше всего ручное шитье! Все пледы сшила в ручную, одеяло лоскутное и получила огромное удовольствие! Спасибо за видео. Привет из России!
Rita I took your quilting class at Kennedy HS back in 2003/2004 & you tought us this method 😀 & I started one in 2005 and It's so big and heavy but I always have some pieces cut out and ready to stitch some whenever I travel or just want to make something ❤❤
I'm currently working on a rectangular quilt in this fashion. I think this hexagon will be my next. The reason I love doing this is because it's a great "take along" projects for when you're sitting in a doctor's office, waiting to pick up the kids or even watching a movie. And you can use up all those scraps.
This is GENIUS, BEAUTIFUL……. AND I AM DEF GOING TO DO THIS. Why didn’t I know about this before? I love it, you just get into the rhythm and you’ve got a beautiful backing, already quilted and a fabulous top quilt. You can fussy cut all sorts of things!!!! Yes, it’s fab. Thankyou so much.
Absolutely delightful watching your technique and your lovely personality!! My grandmama made many of these! I still have a pillow cover from them, too fragile to use, but wonderfulto hold and look at. She used scraps of fabrics from our outgrown worn out clothing! I can find my daddy's work shirt, and my mommy's house dress and even my little brother's Sunday suit that he grew out of!

I have always loved the hexagon blocks but was intimidated a bit. Looks gorgeous and I think I will try it soon. Thanks for making it so easy to understand.
Hola, Rita!!
So glad I found you, your voice is so soothing yet very clear for each stage. I think I will try this for when travelling and when relaxing in the evenings. Thank you 😊
Thank-you for sharing your knowledge. Love what you do. I wish my mom was here. She new so much about sewing, didn't had the time to learn from her all she new. Once again thank-you! ❤
Beautiful!! I am currently sewing granny square hexagon flowers without papers and am enjoying the process. I will soon think of sewing them all together. This may be my next project.
Thank you. I plan on using this for my future grandchild. I can take several in a baggie and sew anywhere I have to wait. Thank you so much. They are beautiful. And so are you!
I am going to try this. I'll use a stiffer batting to give some body. I'd like to make a bag or pouch. I am going to work one up in smaller hexis for a sewing kit or to hold my hexie projects in. I'll attach a zipper or just make a flap over an edge. I can see doing som embroidery in the smaller hexi and then quilting along the turned under piece of the larger and then join them together. The possibility are numerous and will be beautiful. Thank you for giving us another option of working with EPP. Must get started.
Thank you Ms. Rita I just found you and love this design. I was scared to try it because I thought I didn't know the technique but I see how easy it is 😮
I’m thinking this would be a great temperature quilt! Make a hexie each day with high temp on the outside, low on the inside. If I sew them together each week, I might have a quilt by the end of the year! Now to come up with a temp key and choose my fabrics. Might just be enough in my scrap bins!
Thank you soooomuch. Very interesting. Love this and will try to make. Thank you and thank God for blessing you with this amazing talent. Blessings!!!!!! I'm from Sri Lanka.
You can make your own hexagon patterns to specific sizes with some paper (or thin card), a pencil, a ruler and a pair of compasses. Sorry if this is tricky for the maths-challenged, but the radius of your circle will be the same as one edge of the hexagon. You can find videos explaining how to do this online.
For future reference as I’m new to seeing her channel: When you go the the website I sent in my message you will have to search hexagon and then it will show you hexagon template and you can download it and size it to your need on your printer settings…if you are on her link it brings you right to the template…
Rita, I love this idea AND your choice of fabrics. I bought some fabric and am ready to start. Should I prewash the fabric? Thank you for sharing and inspiring us. :)
Thanks, you gave me a great idea to make coasters for Christmas happies. But I plan to topstitch them on the sewing machine. I already have a acrylic template that is the perfect size.

Gorgeous work of art!!
My maternal great-grandmother and grandmother hand quilted almost daily. It is such a gift!!
Боже! Как мне нравятся западные ролики, на которых весьма пожилые люди показывают свои изделия. Красота!!!!
