- Micke_J took his www.superiorimports.se built Toyota Soarer with full 2JZ-GTE engine and drivetrain swap out for a quick burnout during Superior Meet 2011. This car has many parts from JUN Auto such as the 3.2l stroker-kit, and dynoed 736HP last season.

im a honda fan my fav car but OMFG! A 2jz engine sounds fucking amazing
the only thing i could think of is that your high boost car so you have a stiff spring so when you really dont have to much load on the motor you dont generate that high boost pressure so the bov doesnt release. hence the flutter all in all i havent had issues with my turbo (4 years) and mine does the same thing when doing a burn out since i only get like 8 psi doing it lol.under load i run about 20
@luckyamo15 It has a massive BOV at the IC-piping to the IN manifold. The turbo has run for years and years and boosts fine. I don't know what you have to be "welcome" about. If I didn't know better this sounds more like someone trying to sound more knowledgeable then he really is. ;-)
dunno if u guys have seen daigo drop smoke with his Brian Crower setup...this JUN kit is 2ce the money and half the smoke.. just search "daigo saito vs denofa atlanta" you will see what i mean :)

There is no flutter and definitely no compressor surge, its called a BOV, its a single 'pssht' each time he lets off the throttle. Flutter makes a 'su tu tu tu tu tu tu' noise when you are off throttle, which is evident even to kids. Flutter does not cause damage to steel wheel turbos at all, and there is very little volume of air to be de-compressed as well with flutter. Compressor surge is when the boost is ON (throttle ON) and its doing the noise, which is bad. At least google b4 comment.
@SuperiorImportsAB That explains why you still have turbo surge, obviously not enough to do any damage, a BOV should be placed closer towards the throttle body, since yours is at the intercooler piping, you still have fast moving air rushing toward the butterfly and when you just snap it shut, all that boost has no where to go, and your turbo is still spooling down. (Flutter noise) But hey, what do I know, im just a auto tech.. an "unknowledgeable" one.

so what is it then? sounds like it to me....doubt he wouldnt have a BOV on it...and it wasnt turbo flutter..

the turbo flutter thing is true, search it, your bov might not be opening quick enough, that also causes it but compresser surge or turbo flutter really only does damage whiles the turbs still boosting and surging, usally bends the turbo compresor shaft, but shoud be fine if it does it once it has stopped boosting

@liamvg Yup, was low at the moment. But the carbon/carbon clutch also makes a funny noise which might be what you mean.

The "flutter" your hearing is called Turbo Surge.. as kewl as it sounds, it is not a good thing. It defeats the purpose of a Blow off valve or wastegate. That's the sound of all the air from the turbo's compressor wheel bouncing off the turbo's fins which can damage the turbo and if you got enough boost fuk your whole throttle body.
