A Note To Self is a short film inspired by all the mean things we say to ourselves as creators. So often we downplay our skills and abilities subconsciously by being overly critical. This perfectionist mentality is what ultimately leads to the feelings of burn out and defeat. This short film was shot on the Canon C200 in Canon Raw Light. Editing and color grading was done in DaVinci Resolve. Scenes we lit with Aputure and Promaster Lights.

The theme of A Note To Self is that overtime, we forget where we started which in turns makes us forget how far we've come. We forget that we could be doing much worse. As creators, especially photographers and filmmakers, we often sit and wonder if we've made the right choice to follow our heart. I wanted to take all the mean things I've personally said to myself and turn them into art. Hopefully, in an effort to let you know that you're not a lone... nor are you doing bad. Keep climbing. PS. sorry for the nasally voice allergies have been killing me!

Awesome short film Sidney! When you said Riddle to become a pilot, is it the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University? I got admitted to the campus in Prescott, AZ but didn't end up going because it was too expensive for me :/ But that's so cool! Hahah
Hey Francis! Thank you! Yes, I was talking about ERAU! I went to the Daytona Beach Campus but ended up changing my path because of money. It's been a hard thing to deal with at times because I'm a person who likes to finish what I set my mind to, but it's more important to use sound reasoning instead of simply doing what you want.
