      The reason why a lot of Caucasian people didn't like disco music was because a lot of disco music that had "strong gospel and African American "roots and lineage to the music. It had a certain type of beat to it and too many Caucasian people couldn't understand it.

    • @sheldonfredericks8034
      @sheldonfredericks8034 2 місяці тому

      @@pawdaw Is this really true? I read that though whites were becoming inspired by Disco music like in the film Saturday Night Fever and Beegees, it was the Rock and Roll crowd who started the Disco sucks movement as Disco was becoming more mainstream.
      Since Rock n Roll was considered "White people" music back then, I wouldn't say whites getting a hold of Disco caused it to suck. More like they actively tried to take it down.

      @@gerrybanyard1440No kidding?🙂Keep at it, keep innovating with your guitar. I remember reading this remarkable story many years back, that took place around the late 19th century/early 20th century, of a painter, an Italian painter as I remember, who experienced rejection of his artwork throughout his life, and got his big break when he was 80 years old and just about to altogether give up on art and painting. Amazing, right? Gives a whole new meaning to "patience pays," right?

      @@johnstairsTrue🙂Someone else above also forgets to give credit to Bernard Edwards (RIP)🙂Some years back I watched this documentary on "Chic," and there was this music producer of back around the time that "Chic" were starting out, who somewhat casually asked Bernard Edwards to play some guitar riffs for him in the studio during some kind of tea break i.e. it was not a serious recording session.
      Bernard just fooled about on his guitar for about a minute, and when he finished, there was a "pin drop silence" from the music producer who's name I don't remember. Bernard even thought he had done something wrong, before the music producer quickly boke the silence and asked Bernard where he learned to do what he just did. Bernard, as I recall, told the music producer that he and Nile Rodgers evolved the guitar riffs and chucking he had just played, from joint private jamming sessions that he and Nile Rodgers had lately been having as at back then.
      The music producer was mesmerised and the first priority of the music producer immediately became "introducing-to-the-world" that sound he had just heard from Bernard Edwards.

Joni Sledge was my favorite one,she just stood out to me more with her gorgeous bone structure face. And that fuller and luscious hair,all of the sisters were gorgeous,but Joni was eye candy. She also seem to be more energetic than the other sisters. The 1970s & 1980s were the best Decade for great Group Singing Bands. And I loved the Glamorous Wardrobe Attire,during those two Decades.

    Yes, I call that temptation
    Give me the melody

    I remember when my mother told me that Joni Sledge passed away; sadly, a few months later (July 2017), so did my mother. When she told me about Joni Sledge, what happened with her later certainly wasn't what I expected, or looked that way at the time.
