- Mayday, Mayday! We’ve been hit pretty hard this week. It is what it is, and we’ll try to find the silver linings and pray all heal quickly and fully. I know some of you didn’t come here for all of this horse content, but for those who have stuck around and are willing to wade with us through all that we find ourselves doing, we sure do appreciate you. I haven't decided if I want to be a Farm Wife when I grow up but I LOVE watching you do it. The Good with the Challenging. The great part about growing up on the farm is that I learned the facts of life. Can't say I always enjoyed it, but I learned that life is about living, dying, being sick, and enjoying good times. Great to see the family working together through it all. Stay safe and well.

God does not give us problems that he knows we can't deal with in life, life is like a rollercoaster that is fun, scary and exhilarating all at once so take this one day at a time and at the end of the ride there will be a rainbow to admire. Have 6 horses--4 of which are rescues, other 2 thoroughbreds. Seems like there is always something but what beautiful creatures they are. Hang in there! Love to all.
I feel for you all, having sick animals is not a nice thing, hope that they all come through OK and are better for it in the end.
Thanks for sharing. If you watch 'Working Horses with Jim' you will know that they lost a hose to colic not so long ago, I can tell you many stories of how many horses were lost when I was a kid, its sad, but its life, the word influences us no matter what, but God is good, always, He knows best, sometimes its better to just see it that way ! Don't apologize for being human, we love our animals and hate to see them sick. We have lost a barrel horse to colic and 3 horses over the years to what the vet figures was cancer so I can relate. You're all in our prayers. Just keep on being real and sincere, that's what we love about your videos.

It's hard for me to watch this. Because I worked with show horses. I had a business where I would stay up all Night and walked the barns. People trusted me to check on their horses. Every hour I would go buy and write down on a sheet of paper. If the horse was ok. but If the horse was sick I would call the owner or trainer at the hotel where they were staying. In the meantime I would stay with the horse and start walking the horse around. Until they came. The Name of my company was Randy's Horse care. So my prayers are with you.

From South Texas!! An as I prepare for the youth rodeo at SA Stockshow! Alot of horses come with these kids! They know an Love what they do! An with that comes the heart breaks!! It only makes you stronger in Life!! The Love we have for our animals humans need to learn that Love for another human!! 🤠

My father grew up with horses on the family farm. They were used to plow until he finally convinced his father to buy a tractor in 1939. I grew up in the suburbs. The horse content is fascinating, educational and connects me to unfamiliar family history. No need to apologize for the content.

Prayers for resolution with Rip and Cowboy. So glad Ben came through. I had a donkey once who got colic. I worried also but she recovered. Y'all stay dry and keep your chin up. Oh Meredith, For the Love of our Horses. We do everything to keep them healthy and fit and sometimes that's not enough ask me I know as well as your Family does. God will look down on the gang and bring them through this, Just pray a little harder for them. Enjoyed your video, Thanks for sharing.

Dey just bigger than us.. and in this process of circle of life we depend on them emotionally n physically.. they depend on us for food,water,n shelter.. n love. I was boarding at a barn years ago most of the horses got strangles including mine. It is a nasty virus my was very sick with a tremendous amount amount of drainage but he survived and every horse in the barn got it and made it through it So sorry your having so many trials right now but this too will pass. ❤ your videos

Several years ago our horse's all 4 had the same thing it was so heart breaking but all our guy's did great we had to baby them a little but they did great will keep y'all in my prayers our fur babies whatever they are need love and with y'all they will get alot. The pizza things looked so good. I do a bacon burger my grandmonsters call it the inside burger I cook the meat with whatever I put on a burger I cook onions with it and it done like your's.

You know there sicknesses with all animals and just have to pray and do your best to get through it and yall can do it. We've been getting lots of rain and our dirt/gravel road is so many pot hole. Ben probably isn't drinking enough water. I think you were lucky this time which I'm glad for you. Ben was very lucky he was just pre-colicing. My horse pre-coliced and I caught it. Called the vet and they tubbed him thru the nose and ran three gallon water and mineral oil down his intestines. He didn't take his first poop for 18 hours. I would buy some Apple flavor powder electrolytes $ 15.00 from tractor supply and put it in Bens water bucket in his stall until he develops good water drinking habits.
