I love how Wi-Fi 7 router is now getting more common, while I just upgraded to Wi-Fi 6😂
😂😂😂
That's why I'm still hauling on a wifi 5 router lol. The technology keeps changing but the devices can't keep up.
I have 2.4/5GHz router and its on its last lags. I think this is a good time to upgrade to WIFI 7, even though there are not a lot of devices on the market that support it, but in time there will be. @@jinsong6940
I know... I recently moved to my current apartment, and I thought upgrade to wifi 6 is a nice upgrade. The employee at xfinity didn't tell me about wifi 7 until it's too late. Feels bad man...
I am also looking forward to using the wifi7 router.
The fun part of it is that it will be years before the average person or family need it.
Great work, as always 👍
Don't you think it's relevant for gaming ?
@@Obi_boy No, ping is what matter for gaming. More bandwidth is useful for file transfer.
A year later and we have iPhone 16 series have WiFi 7, that's millions of people who will have access to it (also all the latest phones that have just come out in 1 YEAR), the new PS5 Pro has WiFi 7 and I'm sure a lot of other tech in a year will have WiFi 7 so it's not going to take too long for these WiFi chips to be added in latest tech.
@@Obi_boy Yes, Wi-Fi 7 allows for more Wi-Fi bandwidth to each device - it will reduce buffering, improving latency, and let you more efficiently download, play, and stream your latest victories, simultaneously.
@@Obi_boy it is relevant for gaming.. but not for the average family..
An absolute EXCELLENT info filled video!! I’ve been running a WiFi7 since August on a 1.2Gbps service, though an NDA prevents me from saying which at this time…☹️ With no WiFi7 devices in hand the system is pretty much preforming as my eero Pro 6E mesh. But I’m sure over the next year or so the flood gates will open and internet service will get even faster. BTW, you influence goes beyond just tech. Your videos pushed me to buy a new coffee maker.😂
Hah thank you for the insight and hope you like the coffee maker, whichever one you got :)

Got wifi 6 access points on eaxh floor for range. Every single device in my home with an ethernet port is hardwired.
I pay $25/mo for 300/300 and did a stress test where im doing 8 rooms of audio dostribution, 4 online gaming, 3 Hulu live TV streaming and a camera all at once… zero hiccup or delay.
Now I have WiFi 7 in Mesh with 2 routers Xiaomi AX7000, But interconnected with ETHERNET cable CAT 6A. The performance is brilliant although I cannot receive more than 1Gbps fiber optic service.
The price of both 2 Xiaomi AX7000 for me cost only 250 USD.
Before I had installed several WiFi 6E with excellet performance. All Xiaomi models AX 3000, 3600, 3000T, AX5400 and 2 AX9000. I tested MESH net WiFi and hybrid with CAT 7 and CAT 8 cable.
Finally I choose for home a configuration of 2 routers linked by Cable that provide a WiFi 7 service for all devices.
It is important to use ethernet cable when possible instead of WiFi signal to link the routers in MESH. So Wifi signal will be more stable, strong and faster for all Wifi connected devices.
The new BE7000 MESH can provide service for 600 devices at the same time.
The new technology VoWiFi for cellular phones, Voice on WiFi gives a better coverage for cellulars that can be connected without using the Mobile Network for cellulars and the speed and Broad Band is like a 5G connected to Fiber Optic.
Thanks, I learned that I don't need wifi 7.
In my neighborhood, my house is the only one using two different 5g networks. I don't even need 6g to get away from congestion.
Thanks
Always a very informative series that explains how new technology will impact our lives in real world ways! Always helps to know for planning purposes. Thanks for your continued hard work. 🙏
Thank you so much for watching it!
The question is does a home need these speeds?
Also you say that W-Fi 7can use 2GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz at the same time, but won't that throw us back on to congested channels?
I'm sure it's 'better' and I am sure i just don't need it. Most homes can do all they want at under 200Mb/s
Thanks for the clear and informative video. It's appreciated.
Love all the effort you put into these videos. Keep up the great work 😊🇬🇧
Thank you!
Did you manage to get mlo connection on oneplus or samsung s24 ultra? How its shows that mlo connected@@TheUnlockr
I really like the the multi-link operation. It means my online games will less likely to have lost packet and less lag spike. That is a major plus.
Is it worth turning on MLO?
Interesting stuff thanks for the info.
Thank you for watching!
Basically zero impact for 99% of people.
Can I take advantage of anything relating to WiFi 7 even though I don’t have any devices yet? I recently upgraded to WiFi 6e but I want to return that system get way ahead for the future. I currently use WiFi 6e capable devices now. Any help would be great! I ordered the TP link mesh system. Great videos by the way
great video, im glad i now know i dont need or care for wifi 7 yet. ill stick to 6e for my mesh upgrade. thanks for the video.
Shoot I don’t got a wifi 6 router what the hell
Lol I just upgraded from WiFi 4 to WiFi 7 lol what a jump lol
Which wifi 7 router should i buy for gaming

Im still on wifi 5, just waiting for the right time to upgrade.
Bro, if you’re reading this, I just would like to know what Mike are you using to pick up the audio from your voice?

Hi. Great video! I just got Verizon 2gb service. Will WiFi 7 be faster than my Verizon router and extender? If I get a mesh network, can I give my fios equipment back to Verizon? Thanks!
i'm currently on a 10gbps gamers plan with my ISP and the plan bundled with the Asus ROG GT-BE98 wifi 7 router. It's insanely stupid fast!!! Now all my family members are enjoying fast wifi connection. 😂
Always informative and fun.....thanks!
Great stuff bro
Is the MLO worth to turn on ?
Thanks
I always enjoy these videos.
My next wifi overall from my current wifi 5 system might just be a 6e or 7 then.
Thank you so much!
Now, that explains why devices inside my concrete walled store room are unable to connect to my Wifi 6 router. My previous Wifi 5 has a more better coverage. But still whichever Wifi it is, my Sonos speakers are still operating on the 2.4 GHz band so, while Wifi 7 may help, it still doesn't help to ease the 2.4 congestion.
I am behind on my 2 routers. One wifi 7 as the master should do it. Have not seen any wifi 7 devices yet.
How's the be95 working for you? Seeing some feedback that it's buggy and device connection issues. I'm currently trying out the orbi 970 and so far no major issues. Seeing sometimes my z Fold 5 doesn't always connect to wifi 6e and I have to switch WiFi off then back on to connect to 6e. Wonder if the tp link handles this better.
I'm a Field Technician at Charter Spectrum so this video was SUPER informative for my job, Thank you!
Aw that's amazing and so glad it helped
Good luck finding a useful channel for zigbee when you have no control over wifi channels... If i cannot select the wifi channel in the router, i'd like to see an option to restrict the use of a channel...
I was actually thinking about TP-Link Tri-Band BE9300 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE550 whats your opinion of that one? please I'm ready the drop the hammer and buy even looking at what the next one price is @ your $700.00 as you say
Look at the guy explaining us stuff again !
And imagine all the damn devices having enough space in the band to connect reliably for once !
Can you please show how can you connect with VPN?
So I literally look up how to hook up my wifi6 router and i get this lmaooo 😂
I’m sorry 😂
I dont understand where wifi 7 begins? Does it begin with ISP, before it gets to my house? Or does it begin at the modem? Or the router maybe? I dont understand exactly where do i get wifi 7 from?
From routers obviously ISP does not care about wifi technologies
From the wifi chips in your devices and your router. That's it. Both the router and your devices need to support it.
😅😅 What do people do with internet speeds exceeding 1Gbps anyway? I mean - that’s just stupid fast. My provider is “boasting” 70Mbps as their flagship “Fibre” connection and even that doesn’t max out to that speed consistently… 😂 However, I’ve found that it’s enough for my needs tbh 🤷🏾
Meanwhile I’m stuck with cox cable internet in the middle of Phoenix cuz cox won’t let anyone install anything else.
They finally did it, wireless is faster than wires!
I disagree. Some router models select in automatic the faster link Wireless or Cable.
If for some reason cable link is slower than WiFi, check or change the cable. Sometimes the RJ45 terminals are not properly fastened or installed. I fixed several just refastening with proper tool and replacing the conectors RJ45.
Wow! I'm going to have to watch this at least three times 😂😂😂 🤯 Excellent explainer though (I'm just tired after a long day, and a few craft gins 👌) Looking forward to the tp-link Deco devices coming out with Wi-fi 7 👍
I wish Wi-Fi 7 had the ability to schedule its sending of information even if the old devices don't have Wi-Fi 7. This was my biggest complaint with the upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 when only my phone supported it.. having a home with many smart devices can bog down the network at times.
It can but only to WiFi 6 and up devices that support it unfortunately :/
Nice
With my current setup I get 2.0 Gpbs down and that is in my opinion so 21st century. We have come a long way to Wi-Fi 6e and ISPs just cannot (will not?) keep up. I am not getting a 6e modem anytime soon, and we are not able to bring our own modem. It took me a year of begging to get a modem with a 2.5Gb port.
Love it!
I'm at Wifi 5 and pushing 600Mbps
Just need more connections in at 25 and its cutting this out at times
My brain melts at the idea of 10 gigs of internet speed...
So my Pixel 8 pro will be hella quick with Wi-Fi 7 supported
I swear to god, when I saw this thumbnail I thought you were Stephen Curry.
Excellent and very useful info!! 👌👌😎
10 GB per second ? oh my god 😱
I want it
@@TheUnlockr lol me too , but that is impossible in my country
Interesting information, I wonder if there will be a time where having local storage will be obsolete, that speeds are faster than many SSD and internal memories, and I also must say, I am jealous of your actual internet speeds but I don't truly need it, just want it
I wish we had decent WiFi in the UK it's nowhere near what you get in America
What's wrong with UK WiFi? I'm in the UK and get just under 900Mbps on my Eero 6+ on my Samsung S23 Ultra. I would love the Eero 7 (which will be available soon in the UK) but there is no way I'm paying £600 for each mesh router. The prices are ridiculous just like WiFi 6e.
@dpleech1 I suppose it depends on what part you live in, and not had the full fiber yet
@@marklewis.wales844 Ah, are you talking about broadband speed coming in to your house/flat, as this is not related to WiFi speed. They are two different things.
Why did you show the fire department?
What about health?
It's the same as all WiFi, which is to say it's fine. www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/health-risks-safety/radiation/everyday-things-emit-radiation/wi-fi.html
I'll wait until It gets affordable
What about all the wifi devices one purchased over the years. They are not WiFi 7 architecture. Will they all need to be upgraded to take advantage of this new tech?
You should make a video about the potential WiFi EMF interference and its potential effect on health
👍👍👍👍
Walmart had $250 Wifi 7
watching your video using wifi 7 > Tp-link Deco BE85 pack of 2. speeds are crazy , very reliable and app is great. however my wifi 6e for some reason don't appear in my iPhone 15 pro.
MediaTek x Lumen Technologies Wi-Fi 7 promises faster and more reliable internet speeds.
Mine just has 802.11b/g/n 😂
Lmao next year wifi 8 and wifi 9 after and so one it will be funny if he keeps talking about wifi 6 all the way up to wifi 10
eh I'm gonna just stick with wifi 5 till I die
It’s to much to fast 💨. WiFi 7 already next year it’s 8, then the year after 9, 10 and so on. When everyone finally has WiFi 7 devices in their homes routers will be on WiFi 11 or 12. I’m not big on WiFi numbers and sadly everyone already knows it doesn’t matter what WiFi # routers are using, it's not official until it's the standard on the latest iPhone device anyway. I just want the new routers that come out to have 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports and officially do away with the 1Gbps standard.
Lol there is no domestic use case for anything beyond 100Mbps, let alone 2 Gbps.
Wifi 7 spendy
Haha interesting
