      @@raymondmeyers8983 True! But for future races, this is something to work on. Not giving up the rail and making that person run in lane 2 is ideal.

      Jim O'Connor agreed it’s just something that will mess with people mentally if they don’t have a good lane to kick on you but if you give them one it’s over. Depends on the mentality of the person behind you though I guess.

      How does one let that happen at this level?!? Would have been very tight at the line if Hoppel had been force to run the entire curve in lane 2. Completely inexcusable!

    Dixon has a consistent habit of running too far off the edge of the track on corners and straights. Bryce was just tuned in on that and got position on him. Bryce is the only USA threat to Brazier. He just keeps hitting PRs. Surprised Adidas hasn't done more to promote him.

    • @bryanjohnson6634
      @bryanjohnson6634 4 роки тому +3

      What! Bryce will need to improve vastly to even be considered a threat to Donavan.
      With that said, he is a huge talent and hopefully he continues to improve. He has no fear of the big names running the 800m. Great quality to have.

      There are 10 Kenyans (including the wr holder), compared to 2 americans, in the top 25 of the fastest 800m runners of all time.
      In 2019, kenyans have 13 athletes compared to 7 from the USA in the top 50 (1:45.56 and under) fastest 800m runners during the outdoor season.
      Ofc Brazier won the wc but it's not the only metric with which we can observe how good a country did.

      Hopefully he learns racing tactics. Donavan Brazier had to do the same thing. He was also a front runner and would get passed on the home stretch by other runners.
      However, since joining the Oregon program and Pet Julian he is now learning race tactics.
