Honestly, I feel like the idea that addiction is bad ends up being the leading cause of addiction. Addiction isn’t something that just happens, rather it appears because whoever suffers from it had some aspect of their life that was so hollow and unfulfilled that they resort to using something unnatural to fill the space it leaves. Viewing addiction as something shameful or wrong always hurts whoever suffers from the addiction because they feel guilty, and because guilt is, as was aptly said here, such a primal and raw feeling, people have an even greater incentive to fuel their addiction to forget about the extra shame. Addiction isn’t nearly as much the antithesis of sobriety, but rather that of security. People who have an addiction virtually always lack in an area that should normally be filled by something, but end up not finding that thing and putting something in its place to make them feel better. This also means that addiction really can be anything, so saying anything is more or less addictive is a fallacy in and of itself, since the only criteria is that it gives some form of pleasure. It simply depends on how it influences that person, since everyone’s addiction, perception, reaction to the object of and the reason for their addiction is different. Nearly everybody has some kind of addiction if you look hard enough. It just isn’t severe enough to cause significant harm. Shaming people for being addicted to something only ever encourages the addiction to continue. People with addiction need support, just like anyone else. Even more so, even, as only a healthy replacement can truly end an addiction, just like how an unhealthy replacement causes one. Just go and give someone a hug. Tell them they’re okay no matter how they cope, as long as they aren’t harming themselves. I like these videos with Dane and Array. It feels cool to just hear people talk like... people. I hope these two continue with this. Make it a series.
I get what you’re saying, because I was feeling the same. The dopamine reward circuit is part of what tells us that we’re doing something that’s improving us and that keeps us moving forward, so to say anything that causes a large dopamine release is addictive is like “duh, that’s the point.” The issue is the nature of what’s causing the release. If it’s something wholesome and productive, then that’s great - circuit is working as intended. But if it’s something that ends with a net negative at the end of the day or causes you to abandon some other critical aspect of your life, that’s a problem. A healthy monogamous relationship that adds joy and value to life? Great! A co-enabling parasitic relationship that sucks the life out of each person? Not great. A job/hobby that gives you purpose and helps you improve yourself and society? Great! The same job/hobby is causing you to ignore your declining health and your family? Not great.
@@plazet-sq4kq lol TL;DR is “Just because it’s addictive doesn’t mean it’s bad. You need context.” Dopamine is what’s addictive. Our bodies need dopamine as an indicator of success. I can see how it makes sense, but with my difficulties, I have to beg to differ, even if it's just for my own sake.
Obviously I don't know your condition, but certainly there are ways you can make "progress" in your life. Even if that progress is slowly learning to manage your symptoms
Oh wow. People loved it, asked for more, and they delivered. This is the first time i was truly here to witness such a thing. Also, the editing is *R E A L L Y* good on this vid as well! So i guess your feedback is: I'm excited for the future of your channel, do what you want, because i'm not only here for TF2, i like you as a person, and i like Apex Legends as well even thogh i don't play it and all that.
Array, I don't even care what you put out, as it is stuff. I have fallen in love with your channel a long time ago and don't think about letting it go anytime soon. Just keep doing and I will keep watching.

Hey array! New medic main here i have had the game sense 2013 but I have recently been playing it more seriously this year I have been wanting to get better so I have been watching your videos! Which have been informative and enjoyable so thank you for that!
I'm a new viewer, I've played very little tf2 when it became f2p because playing against other people gives me a lot of anxiety, but I've never stopped loving the characters, the comics, and pretty much everything about tf2. Watching Dane's and ArraySeven's videos made me want to go back to the game now that I have a few friends to play with and it's been a lot of fun so thank you for the fun videos, for the useful ones (like the beginners medic guide) and now that I'm discovering you two playing together I'm so fucking happy.
Gotta say I do love the change of pace a gameplay vlog like this gives from the old standard content. Not saying this is what you should move to completely, your full fleshed videos are something you should never abandon. But like one of these say every month or so is a refreshing change.
2:20 i paused the video, alt tabbed into discord, looked for where i got pinged for 3 minutes, and came back only to hear that it was your video that made the sound.
I don't know why but these 2 together are just so nice to hear for me for some reason, i could listen to them talk in a podcast all damn day and i still wouldn't get tired of hearing their voices, they seem such nice people, i just, don't know why, maybe they should do a podcast, see where that goes.
I actually really like this podcast type of video you have with Dane. It's funny, entertaining, and easy to have in the background. If you made them even longer, I wouldn't complain.
4:54 I actually used to do my stuff in mostly one take and I still do. Two things - practice, and scripting. Write out what you want to say exactly how you want to say it, and just shoot through it. It might feel weird and robotic at first, but now, I can't even tell when something is ad-libbed or if it's scripted because of how I record. It won't always be perfect, but I usually have a few extra minutes of flubs left in there instead of double the video length.
Yea a good way to practice (or it was for me) writing down a few notes and try to talk about a topic for "x" amount of minutes from just the few notes. I did that every school presentation and in the end I almost didnt need notes or a script
I call myself a voice-actor but the feeling of not being able to just do a simple line sometimes is very recognisable. Some days you feel as of you lost al talent to speak and whatever you record sounds like garbage. It's really hard to be patient with yourself in moments like that and I think this seperates the pro's from the rest. It's not about saying a line correctly, it's about being patient enough to allow yourself to fail sometimes and try again later. I still struggle with this a lot. I don't think that feeling ever fully goes away.
Hey Array, if you like team-based shooters in general, I recommend checking out a game by EA called "Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville." Its a really good game and it's surprisingly fun, given that although its team-based like TF2, there are different classes for both teams that all play differently. Sadly EA pulled the plug on it after less than a year, because it wasnt getting enough attention. They said if it can become more mainstream (like more people streaming it), they'll continue support. If a game with the same wacky charm as TF2 sounds appealing, I ask that you at least looking into the game.
these laid back, chewin the spit kinds of discussions are great. like a shorter podcast, though not only one topic they all meld together really well. keep up the good work mang.

He did it guys, he fixed his channel!
Array you absolute savior...
I love Opera GX now
Honestly that opera gx thing is cool and I'm a good little consumer so I'll let you know that :3
You're the reason I'm a medic main! Love you bro!
Honestly your drug campaign is way better than all of the vaping ads I get before and after videos
Thank you for being the dads I never had, I didn’t mean that I’m a gay way... but I mean... I wouldn’t mind.
I really enjoy watching these videos where ArraySeven and Uncle Dane just talk about random stuff, I hope theres more stuff like this on the way
Lol I didn’t expect to see our(russian) meme(on the start)
Hello fellow russian

@@cloud0368 я тебе не верю(I don’t believe u)
Я доказываю тем что я уже пишу на русском
I've been ingesting a lot of TF2 content recently over the past few months, and I'm glad to see that you and Dane still produce content.
If a game with the same wacky charm as TF2 sounds appealing, I ask that you at least looking into the game.
hmm? imma check it
Garden warfare 2 had more options and is a better game and it’s really cheap, it’s called PvZ garden warfare 2
I prefer gw2 but I love bfn
Hearing you and dane just talking is really calming
"The title"
These are without a doubt my favorite type of array seven video, if it were a podcast, i’d tune in for every episode
Crab
Btw there try hard pyro coming after you spy crab
these laid back, chewin the spit kinds of discussions are great. like a shorter podcast, though not only one topic they all meld together really well. keep up the good work mang.
it's supposed to be s3x, drugs, and rock and roll dude.
Love these perspectives that cross so many years of this game and the content that's shaped a lot of gamers' lives. It's interesting being a part of the growing, new Deep Rock community hearing just how many people call out both of you as one of the greats who got them into trying out being a content creator too. Hope you both keep growing and doing more of what you two love doing.
i could be hearing Dane and Array talk for hours and it will never be boring
i was not expecting this style of commentary to become a Thing™ on array's channel and honestly i really really like it, it's like listening to your granddad tell stories and give life advice
These videos are amazing, its the closest thing to a podcast that I can actually enjoy because of the gameplay.
Let Dane know how much I love his content. I can just binge his old videos and hope for new content soon. Love it.
I love the pairing of array and dane, it's just two bros chillin unfiltered, that's my bread and butter
It’s so refreshing seeing a new tf2 video instead of rewatching stuff from 3 years ago
Array Seven and Uncle Dane having a conversation is very fun to listen to I don't know why
I love seeing these two have calming interactions
They should try getting different tf2 UA-camrs with them
I love this, 2 og tf2 you tubers just chopping it up and talking about life and video games, y’all need to get a podcats
Wait dude y’all 10000% need to start a podcast
These array seven with uncle dane videos are like old tf2 commentary gameplay videos. I love it.
I feel like you guys have a potential monthly podcast just waiting to happen here, a casual tf2 gameplay podcast. I like it!
Why is it so great to listen to two cool old men just talk about life?
1. I like the kind of content that is mostly just you chatting with someone else (Such as Dane). It gives us some interesting insight into how that fantastic brain of yours functions. Would love to see more of this sort of thing in the future.
2. I have no idea how you have so many pings, I check them as soon as I get them. (Then again, you're significantly more famous than I)
3. I use Firefox, have about 400 tabs open at any given time, and things run fine for me :p
Gosh I really love this almost podcast type content. It really suits you Array! The topics flowed very well, and I think you are very much cut out for the longer, and more chill type content. Great job, and I can’t wait to see more from you 💙
This is everything I've ever wanted please continue
The sneeze into the ad segment was pretty badass
