But spawning wallhacks are actually a thingm and they're a nightmare to deal with not because they're unfair (they are), but because you dont know who has seen you when and where.
It worths nothing that being invisible doesn't always increase your survival chances. Very often you get killed by accident just because you had the bad luck of crossing between a sniper and your teammate.
Once, i was playing as engineer and there was this enemy spy who was always killing me and i got him with my shotgun and when he died, i used the laugh taunt.. And then.. He had the dead ringer.. Well. I deserved it.
That priority list is pretty accurate, except when you're Medic, then it goes along the lines of: 1 - Don't get backstabbed. 2 - Don't get headshot. 3 - Curse your luck to hell and back when your team can't seem to understand the concept that in order to heal them, they have to stay *nearby* .
well, unless its a soldier, or for some reason a scout or MAYBE a demo, you will always have the means to follow them as you have an above average move speed, so Demo, Heavy, Pyro, Sniper, Spy, other Medics, and Engie are all easy to heal, plus most of the time if you just need to quickly heal them, a soldier will usually stay mostly in place for a couple seconds before rocket jumping away, and a scout.. well scout there is never really a middle ground, either theyre already dead or are pretty much not damaged at all

I had some absolute chad scout in a Casual Community Server Control Point game. I had recently disguised and was acting suspicious. This absolute legend began fake shooting at me and I started to fake counter strafe to sell the disguise. The team bought it and I got a triple chain stab including a Medic, Demo and Soldier. I think this single action turned the game. Never underestimate how a few key picks can change the game, help your fellow spies to make this happen
Germans call this the "invisible hand" theory. It describes the fact people most likely take a shortcut over grass than walk on the path to save even the smallest amount of time. Same is applied to the way people talk. Building upon this there are a few related theories explaining when people just colloquial language, full sentences or shortcuts to deliver a message. TLDR is people will only search areas that are on a path including shortcuts but not useless corners
I utilized this theory and I was able to get away from a lot of people, even pyro mains. It's hilarious just watching them go the most obvious route when in reality, I took a route they never suspect.

Fun Fact: Spy was never a class in the original Quake Team Fortress at first. The idea of a Spy only came about due to a visual bug that would cause players to appear with the wrong class model and/or the enemy team colors.

Happens literally all the time, I can switch to spy, get behind enemy lines and walk towards the enemy like I came from spawn and suddenly everyone is shooting me or someone decides at that moment to switch to pyro and only spy check even though no one on the enemy team was doing that until I switched to spy.
3:22 this happened to me while I first played TF2 I was a sniper, and both me and the spy pretending to be me came across each other, we had a small staring contest before he shot me in the face
Anthony Lo the glitch is that in the og team fortress there was a glitch that made you look like any class when you were actually a different one. The tf devs thought “oh wow this is a good idea!” and made it into a class.
Once there was a goddamn spy who was camping every spot for clean backstabs, trickstabs when he needed too. He never taunts or use his disguise kit. I feel quite sorry for him because he dominated everyone and got 238 points, He still lost due to the performance of his team. I hope his Trickstabs will help his next few matches and hopefully me too!

Once a demo was in their intel setting sticky traps on the intels doors and he fooled and killed me with a sticky trap. BUT, i was using dead ringer so i went back a bit and switched to an engineer disguise and then pretended to be a friendly and he told me to build a dispenser and i said yes and it took a while for him to give me an opportunity but i backstabed him without him suspecting me. It was PERFECT. I will always remember that moment. Another time i was in swiftwater and i was trying to sap their teles at their spawn and a sniper noticed me and started chasing me so i switched disguise again and again like 4 times while he was chasing me and then i stopped got my revolver out and shot him, it was a critical hit. That is another PERFECT moment i will always remember.
One of my craziest moments killing a spy was I was playing pyro right and I air blasted a rocket from a soldier and I KID YOU NOT IT KILLED A INVISIBLE SPY

Sniper is a direct counter to: Medic, Heavy, Pyro, Engi Sniper is countered by: Spy 4:1 Counters/Countered. take another class, say... Soldier (the most popular main) Soldier counters: Engi, Scout, Spy (sort of? due to splash damage) Soldier is countered by: Pyro, Heavy. 1:1 Counters / Is Countered By And another, say... Engi. Happy Nub14 Ahh yes, the one weakness thanks to pyro’s gas mask. But let’s be honest, if pyro was to have his mask off, his English, or French, or whatever language he speaks would sound like he or she is 6 or more or less.
Mhm. I turn around and stare at the Spy - I get stabbed. I take Pyro, I burn him with flames, following at a safe distance - I get stabbed. I say there's a Spy - all my team gets stabbed one by one, each saying there's a Spy. No counter to bug-stab. Except for being me. Then no bugs, perfect game. I play Spy, I run at a Heavy's back, I bump him to make sure there's no issue with distance, my hand raises, I press and do simple melee attack. Once, twice, then he turns around and kills me, making me look like an idiot. And then a Demonite kills me at a distance of flamethrower with his sword. So, to summarize it, no matter who's got high ping and who's got low ping, I can't hit people point-blank while others hit me with melee 3 meters away and can facestab me even when I face them and run BACKFUCKINGWARDS. It means away. It means they cannot have any access to my back. But does it work for me? No. Following a slower class does not give me a fake delayed hitbox. Wonderful balance. Garbage, delete, never regret.
Don’t forget that there are other knives too! The best one to deal with sentries if you’re not able to do the Stab-And-Sap is Your Eternal Reward (YER), since when you backstab you will still be desguised, it is also perfect for groups of people, since YER kills people silently. The Big Earner (TBE) is perfect if you want a semi glass cannon strat and be fast as hell. Or there’s the Conniver’s Kunai (CK) that is good for a completely amazing Spy clip

this happened to me once, the enemy spy disguised as his medic and literally stands behind his team with the dead ringer but I stabbed him (after jungle inferno so he died) I was like: excuse me? and the other medic was ALL THE WAY back and he ended up ubering the heavy and we lost the cart
I remember watching this video when first getting into tf2 and not knowing that the cloak and dagger was an unlockable weapon, and I just stood around while cloaked and made myself look like an idiot thinking that's how the invis watch worked Almost 1,200 hours later and I still don't own a cloak and dagger

Not being able to call for a medic is a bit annoying but not being able to call out spy is a pain in the ass like if they're camping and pop out to kill someone every now and then and I can't tell anyone also not being able to ask an engineer to build a dispenser or sentry

I can tell you backstabbing a medic while there healing you is one of the best feelings, I was literally 7 hp then tricked a medic into healing me, then proceeded to my first trick stab in my life

He fires 2 pipes off then switches to the stickybomb launcher and launches 2 stickies then he turns to face the spy and fires the final 6 under his feet and then reloads. The swap from grenade launcher to stickybomb launcher is way smoother than it should be and there is no sound effect for the launching of the first 2 stickies so I understand why you were mistaken.
if you immediately pause at 3:16 you'll see the sniper inside the red base, he probably materialized because you were constantly checking to see an opening in the medic to stab so the sniper managed to close the gap

Spy is crazy OP in the right hands. The completely never ending God mode invisibility is the factor that makes him OP. Trying to play CTF and 15 people choose spy is such an unbearable game. Now that I think about it, why would anyone run anything other than spy? You can team wipe the quickest with a bunch of spies. META
Until you meet the one gut that plays soldier/pyro/heavy/scout/jarate-sniper/engie/demo who stands near the corner, and then just shoots once you round it after him. Then you're dead.

Once a demo was in their intel setting sticky traps on the intels doors and he fooled and killed me with a sticky trap.
BUT, i was using dead ringer so i went back a bit and switched to an engineer disguise and then pretended to be a friendly and he told me to build a dispenser and i said yes and it took a while for him to give me an opportunity but i backstabed him without him suspecting me.
It was PERFECT. I will always remember that moment.
Another time i was in swiftwater and i was trying to sap their teles at their spawn and a sniper noticed me and started chasing me so i switched disguise again and again like 4 times while he was chasing me and then i stopped got my revolver out and shot him, it was a critical hit.
That is another PERFECT moment i will always remember.

Sniper "Unique" mechanics... nope. Headshots? COD, Mini Crit/Crit Secondary? Kritzkreig (before it), Buff Banner (same year), melee weapon that crits under conditions? Axtinguisher, etc etc

Mhm. I turn around and stare at the Spy - I get stabbed. I take Pyro, I burn him with flames, following at a safe distance - I get stabbed. I say there's a Spy - all my team gets stabbed one by one, each saying there's a Spy. No counter to bug-stab. Except for being me. Then no bugs, perfect game. I play Spy, I run at a Heavy's back, I bump him to make sure there's no issue with distance, my hand raises, I press and do simple melee attack. Once, twice, then he turns around and kills me, making me look like an idiot. And then a Demonite kills me at a distance of flamethrower with his sword. So, to summarize it, no matter who's got high ping and who's got low ping, I can't hit people point-blank while others hit me with melee 3 meters away and can facestab me even when I face them and run BACKFUCKINGWARDS. It means away. It means they cannot have any access to my back. But does it work for me? No. Following a slower class does not give me a fake delayed hitbox. Wonderful balance. Garbage, delete, never regret.

Don’t forget that there are other knives too! The best one to deal with sentries if you’re not able to do the Stab-And-Sap is Your Eternal Reward (YER), since when you backstab you will still be desguised, it is also perfect for groups of people, since YER kills people silently. The Big Earner (TBE) is perfect if you want a semi glass cannon strat and be fast as hell. Or there’s the Conniver’s Kunai (CK) that is good for a completely amazing Spy clip

I can tell you backstabbing a medic while there healing you is one of the best feelings, I was literally 7 hp then tricked a medic into healing me, then proceeded to my first trick stab in my life

He fires 2 pipes off then switches to the stickybomb launcher and launches 2 stickies then he turns to face the spy and fires the final 6 under his feet and then reloads. The swap from grenade launcher to stickybomb launcher is way smoother than it should be and there is no sound effect for the launching of the first 2 stickies so I understand why you were mistaken.

Spy is crazy OP in the right hands. The completely never ending God mode invisibility is the factor that makes him OP. Trying to play CTF and 15 people choose spy is such an unbearable game. Now that I think about it, why would anyone run anything other than spy? You can team wipe the quickest with a bunch of spies. META
Until you meet the one gut that plays soldier/pyro/heavy/scout/jarate-sniper/engie/demo who stands near the corner, and then just shoots once you round it after him. Then you're dead.
