In my opinion, Tekken 5 is the best for me for having the best intro, Devil Within mode, customization and Arcade History like playable Arcade version of Tekken 1,2 and 3. Man, Tekken 5 has lots of content and it feels like complete game in one disc!. No DLC and no microtransaction whatsoever.
Mind was blown when my cousin and I put the game in saw the customization the new style story everything was crazy it was one of those they put their entire foot in this project type feelings
Tekken 3 is the most flawless and smooth fighting game I've played , most importantly , the characters are so charismatic and well presented with unique atmosphere to each one of them and amazing level design that further enhanced the impression and the vibes each character delivers ! All of that and more without even diving into the nostalgic aspect which would make me go forever describing this game !!
each character having their own stage and theme is such an awesome idea to add to their personality, I am surprised they never decided to do that after Tekken 3

It’s definitely overrated, nothing to do content wise after the weak story mode. Character chapters for endings/short arcade runs. The gameplay isn’t as fun imo compared to tekken 5. The game gets hard carried by the fact it was the only tekken game on modern consoles for a long time

Tekken 4 is my favorite best Tekken game of all time imo. The stages were literally unique and the music was so damn fire. I mean it was a lil broken but it was the realistic fighting game in the series.
Tekken 2 is my favorite, and I played all the other games. Great roster, love the atmosphere, music is amazing, combat was more fluid than the original game, and I love the way the endings play out. You get a sense of mystery, and it made you want to know more about the characters.
TEKKEN 7 is the best for me. I found the most success and “OMG” moments with the game. TAG2 is a toxic relationship. I never played a game that made me rage so much in my life. I remember the turning point where I had to say to myself “it’s not that serious” Looking back, the game a lot of content especially with friends. Also cool Easter eggs!! TAG1 is based of nostalgia and wow moments shifting from ps1 into ps2 TEKKEN 5DR/6 are tied for me. I skipped 4 and 5 for shooter games but I found my favorite character in T5DR. The love of my favorite character and cool customizations made me enjoy 6. TEKKEN 3 is based of pure nostalgia and my first TEKKEN. TEKKEN 4 had an interesting dark story and I find the uneven maps interesting. TEKKEN 2 is cool, iconic game intro!!! TEKKEN 1 is just TEKKEN lol.
In my opinion, Tekken 7 was the straw that broke the camel's back. The characters are too over designed, new characters are so one dimensional that they feel like a middle schooler created them, and the rage art is an unnecessary gimmick that devalues Tekken.
Yeah, 7 has ruined Tekken's soul. People would argue it's been a commercial success. But for me and for many others, Tek 7 made the game less tekken . They removed so many moves and added bad gimmicks, such as rage arts/ drives, armored moves and really bad characters.
I like this ranking! Only 2 differences with my ranking are, Tek 4 takes Tek 6 place. Tekken 3 takes TTT2 place. But yeah 5 is the best, still no contest. Also I would put 7 that low. It's been my least favorite

The original Tekken Tag Tournament will always be my favorite; combining Tekken 2&3 and mixing the youth of the original characters from Tekken&Tekken2 to the new ones of Tekken 3.
You pretty much labeled them accurately for me. Tekken 3 was my absolute favorite of the franchise until 7 came along so putting those two at number 1 and 2 respectively is where I would've ranked them. I also believe Tekken 8 will be the best considering Tekken is one of the few franchises that actually improves with each new release and all this is coming from a fan who's played since the beginning in tekken 1. Tekken 3&4 will always be the pinnacle for me. The feel and atmosphere of 4 is on another level. Gameplay was solid to me despite what others say even if it was slightly slower than 5&6. Jin,hei,kazuya all have different eletrics color and wave patterns. Ona scale from 1-10, T3 is a 10, t4 is 9, and t5 is an 8. If u master a character those games are too much fun and addictive still
Tekken 7s business practices, small roster, heat moves ( doesn't fit tekken for me I really dislike it) and the fact they removed freakung team battle really hinders it for me. It's sleek and pretty but too many lows for me to rank it above a tag 2

5 & 7 are my favourite. Bought 7 on Steam. Playing it on my OLED Steam Deck is insane, having this game mobile is 👌🏻 Tekken Tag Tournament was my first Tekken (i was an N64 kid during that generation) so i don't really have any nostalgia for 1-3 so no doubt would affect how i feel about the series.
My top 3 are : 1. Tekken 5 DR 2. Tekken 3 3. Tekken 7 I liked 5 over 7 because it was peak Tekken in its purest form before all Rage supers and crazy guest characters. Tekken 3 is just a certified classic banger, if Tekken 3 still is fun then it will be fun 50 years from now, it's one of the first thats comes to mind when I think of timeless games.

Tekken 2, Classic and Good music, Tekken 3 is the peak perfection on gameplay and equally best soundtrack as Tekken 2. Weakest Tekken games are ones after third, Tag 1 is exception not greatest but still good.

In terms of quality of package, Tekken 5 is unmatched. It was jam packed on the disc. In terms of gameplay, well, I absolutely despise the whole juggle system of bounding someone twice and killing them as they bounce across the screen. So, in terms of that, Tekken 5 is my favourite for gameplay as well. Can string a few little combos together, but you can't punch the opponent across the screen like a beach ball, at least, not for terribly long anyways. Tekken is such a hilarious mess these days. I honestly have no idea how anyone likes anything from Tekken 6 onward. Even morons have opinions, I guess, otherwise we wouldn't have Call of Duty, and Fast and Furious. 🤣
Tekken 2 is the first one I played and yes it's dated , but man MAN the soundtrack. Even hearing the snippets in the video, gave me goosebumps, so fucking nostalgic. The soundtrack after Tekken 5 went to shit. Tekken 4 is the weird forgotten child of the Tekken family I feel. My favourites would either be Tekken tag or Tekken 5. Tekken 5 is the best Tekken game ever, particularly the Dark Resurrection version. But if someone will say that Tekken 3 is the best, well I will not disagree with him/her because that game is really good too. Tekken Tag is just broken and boring, because the Mishimas are super overpowered in that game. Tekken 7 is a tier or maybe 2 tier lower than Tekken 5, mainly because of the long combos (it feels like you're playing Marvel vs Capcom with the number of hits you can throw), flying/teleporting characters and the freaking rage.
My favorites are 2, 3, 4 and 5. Kind of hard to rank them, since I’d say they’re all nearly on the same spot for me, albeit for different reasons. I love the atmosphere and OST of Tekken 2 most, but obviously 5 has better gameplay. For example.

Gotta be Tekken 5. The PS2 version is awesome but I also really love the Dark Resurrection re-release of it on PSP. Doesn't look quite as good as it's home console counterpart but for a portable fighter still looks really good and the fact it's run at a smooth 60 frames per second during the fights is even more impressive. If I were to rank my favorites in the series I'd go 5, 7, Tag 2, 3, Tag 1. Hyped for 8.

tekken tag tournament 2 is so good honestly it has best roster combos and it was my childhood game on xbox 360 i really love and i even saved the first disk i got it
looking back I think I like the roster on tekken 2 better then 3 but the gameplay is better in 3...the music is great in both and tekken 3 does have force and beach ball modes
I think Tekken 7 shot itself in the foot. Having Akuma and Geese in the game was a cool little nod to other fighting games, but having Negan and Noctus felt so out of place it was just a commercial for other IPs. Took me out of it completely, then it became a pay to win game when you HAD to buy every new characters to be competitive online because they would release completely broken.
For me, Tag 2 looks, handles and sounds the best I think 4 & 5 were peak for story modes, especially with the prologues, epilogue and most importantly charcater interactions and unique cutscenes My full order goes 1. From worst to best Id say Tekken 1 < Tekken Tag 2 < Tekken 6 < Tekken 2 < Tekken 7 < Tekken 4 < Tekken Tag 1 < Tekken 3 < Tekken 5. I have almost 800 hours in Tekken 7 and it's my first fighting game I've played online despite playing the series since Tag 1 came out. It's honestly so weak the only thing it has going for it is the online. Everything else in the game sucks. The graphics suck, the customization sucks, the single player content sucks, the character models suck, but the actual fighting gameplay and online is amazing. Tekken 8 is looking to be the best game yet though so hopefully I'm right about that
I really should love Tekken Tag 1, but the AI just feels alot cheaper than most of the other games, granted I haven't played Tekken 1 or Tekken 2, but I've played every mainline game after 3 and Tag 1 just feels so much harder and more frustrating

I liked 5 over 7 because it was peak Tekken in its purest form before all Rage supers and crazy guest characters. Tekken 3 is just a certified classic banger, if Tekken 3 still is fun then it will be fun 50 years from now, it's one of the first thats comes to mind when I think of timeless games.
Tekken 5 is peak tekken without a doubt tekken 3 is a close second and tekken 8 will be third. Tekken 4 can go to hell
Glad to see (not in this video) that many people are coming around to Tekken 4. It easily had the best tone, atmosphere, story, and music in the series.

Tekken 2, Classic and Good music, Tekken 3 is the peak perfection on gameplay and equally best soundtrack as Tekken 2. Weakest Tekken games are ones after third, Tag 1 is exception not greatest but still good.

In terms of quality of package, Tekken 5 is unmatched. It was jam packed on the disc.
In terms of gameplay, well, I absolutely despise the whole juggle system of bounding someone twice and killing them as they bounce across the screen. So, in terms of that, Tekken 5 is my favourite for gameplay as well. Can string a few little combos together, but you can't punch the opponent across the screen like a beach ball, at least, not for terribly long anyways.
Tekken is such a hilarious mess these days. I honestly have no idea how anyone likes anything from Tekken 6 onward. Even morons have opinions, I guess, otherwise we wouldn't have Call of Duty, and Fast and Furious. 🤣

Tekken 2 is the first one I played and yes it's dated , but man MAN the soundtrack. Even hearing the snippets in the video, gave me goosebumps, so fucking nostalgic.

My favourites would either be Tekken tag or Tekken 5. Yes Tekken 7 is the best gameplay wise, but the soundtrack and other features are really lacking.
The fighting in Tekken 5 is just perfect and the ability to play with 3 other people in Tekken tag???? Man the memories. And the fucking soundtrack. The ogre stage is so incredible

Tekken is so special compared to every other fighting franchise to me. Every game is good, and even the worst of the franchise is better than some othr fighting games. Been playing Tekken since i was a kid and ill never stop
Tekken 5 is the best Tekken game ever, particularly the Dark Resurrection version. But if someone will say that Tekken 3 is the best, well I will not disagree with him/her because that game is really good too. Tekken Tag is just broken and boring, because the Mishimas are super overpowered in that game. Tekken 7 is a tier or maybe 2 tier lower than Tekken 5, mainly because of the long combos (it feels like you're playing Marvel vs Capcom with the number of hits you can throw), flying/teleporting characters and the freaking rage.
I’ve been a massive Tekken fan since day dot but honestly, Tekken Tag Tournament is the absolute best. The soundtrack fucking slaps.

The problem with your statement is that Tekken wasn't the first fighting game where each limb was attached to a button. Mortal Kombat had been doing this since the first game.

Gotta be Tekken 5. The PS2 version is awesome but I also really love the Dark Resurrection re-release of it on PSP. Doesn't look quite as good as it's home console counterpart but for a portable fighter still looks really good and the fact it's run at a smooth 60 frames per second during the fights is even more impressive. If I were to rank my favorites in the series I'd go 5, 7, Tag 2, 3, Tag 1. Hyped for 8.

I think Tekken 7 shot itself in the foot. Having Akuma and Geese in the game was a cool little nod to other fighting games, but having Negan and Noctus felt so out of place it was just a commercial for other IPs. Took me out of it completely, then it became a pay to win game when you HAD to buy every new characters to be competitive online because they would release completely broken.

I know alot of people loved T7. Especially from a competitive perspective. But Tekken 3 was just firing on all cylinders and is still considered by many if not most to be the Best in the series (myself included)....
From worst to best Id say Tekken 1 < Tekken Tag 2 < Tekken 6 < Tekken 2 < Tekken 7 < Tekken 4 < Tekken Tag 1 < Tekken 3 < Tekken 5. I have almost 800 hours in Tekken 7 and it's my first fighting game I've played online despite playing the series since Tag 1 came out. It's honestly so weak the only thing it has going for it is the online. Everything else in the game sucks. The graphics suck, the customization sucks, the single player content sucks, the character models suck, but the actual fighting gameplay and online is amazing. Tekken 8 is looking to be the best game yet though so hopefully I'm right about that

I really should love Tekken Tag 1, but the AI just feels alot cheaper than most of the other games, granted I haven't played Tekken 1 or Tekken 2, but I've played every mainline game after 3 and Tag 1 just feels so much harder and more frustrating
People hated tt2 and I never could understand why.
