Art is looks so good to me but alpha 3 is my favorite but that’s probably just nostalgia
Props to sticking to your guns. I have nothing against 3rd strike in fact, i love it. But everyone seems to rate it as the best game ever.

Street fighter 6 is fun af, but honestly, I should’ve got it for Xbox. I recently got me a ps5 to get the game, and its really hard getting used to the D-pad and L3 buttons being opposite from the Xbox’s controller. It’s so much easier on Xbox imo
Yeah the series x controller is perfect for fighting games. I got it for SF6 on steam and found inputs to be much easier using it.

i honestly feel like sf5 is a bit better than sf4
i did pick it up late though so i cant really talk for how bad the launch was but i think the V mechanic is better than focus attack and critical arts are more begginer friendly than super and ultra combos

I’m getting close to agreeing with you all. Still feel like 4 was a bit better (especially if you played Sagat day 1) and the expansions to the roster was a big factor. It’s too early to judge 6 vs 4 as my favorite but I think it’s very possible. So happy that V-Trigger is where it belongs (in the toilet). SFZero should be on this list as it was technically numbered in Japan and I would have it ranked at #3 (above 3 but below 4&6).
I would argue the Alpha series constitutes a mainline game considering they called it Zero in Japan and is canon to the main story.
“I think just about everything is better than 5”-lol so true. But the best thing about 6 being better than 5 is that it’s not 5. It would have been funny if you rated 5 last (even though it is still better than the original but just barely). Bricks.
For me its: 2, Alpha, 3, EX (1st one only), 6, 4, 5, then 1. The original would still be last place if I include anything else like the vs Capcom series (mid-tier) or the Movie game (bottom tier)
For the record, I only have 6 in front of 4 & 5 is because of the World Tour mode. While by itself, that mode isn't great, I really enjoy leveling up a created character. Otherwise those 3 are really interchangeable. I simply don't care for the 3D ones as much as the 2D games.

ive been playing third strike against really good players and win(for the most part). third strike is not that deep. the gameplay mechanics are simple enough and just reaalllyy tight, which make 3rd strike the most competitive and best fighting game ever. the only deep gameplay mechanics are unintentional quirks that make some moves even better than originally used. stuff like kara-demon, kara-thows, overheads from specific characters that are invincible to throw, etc etc
3rd strike ain’t a street fighter game. At least in a way that’s anywhere near traditional

Third strike is the most overrated fighting game ever made. Half the people that say it's the best SF don't even play it, they just parrot whatever their favorite FG UA-camr says online. 4 is really good, but as an overall package it doesn't compare to 6. The number of systems and character expression in 6 dwarfs everything in 3 & 4.

It was literally the first ever fighting game as we know them
No it is NOT overrated! It was so new and we had seen nothing like it at the time. It still holds up well for an old game. It is the MOST iconic fighting game and video game and the grand daddy that inspired mortal Kombat and everybother fighting game there after, giving us such iconic characters.
First time I played it as a kid when it first came on it I had seen nothing like that the colourful characters so unique in design origin and fighting style and they did moves and had so many variety of normals and special attacks that had never been seen EVER especially in a fighting game.
The graphics and music were amazing and the roster was huge!!! Having 8 players to choose from was unheard of and one wanted to try every character for how unique each were when it came out and EVERYONE picked a favourite they identified with based on nationality or unique fighting style and looks. Chun li the first female fighting character was unheard of as well it was so satisfying to see her lightening kick or Hondas 100 hand slap or dhalsims stretchy limbs and yoga fire!!! There were literal LINE UPS at every arcade machine and learning to do specials if not shown on arcade machine was word of mouth or a rare combo.
U don’t understand the impact of street fighter at that time it was the MOST POPULAR thing out there even my PARENTS who were immigrants who lived in Canada for long at that point has seen nothing like it and has a favourite character and it was my dad who brought me to an arcade machine cause he just had to show me this new game and I was blown away as he and I played each other and the arcade it was a special day for me
And everyone who lived at that time when it first came out would agree with me. Not those who pretend to have seen the arcade machines first intro of first iteration of sfII and really were around after its 5th iteration..as games evolved since then and street fighter hype of sfII was already starting to wind down after so many iterations.. I mean the FIRST streee fighter II arcade iteration when first introduced.
If u were there for it u would NOT call it overrated it’s like a youth being born today and not understanding the impact of an epic film for those who first saw it when it came out that’s what ur comparison is like without u deratanding its first time seeing it happen with many moves great music and sprites and crisp character control and it BOOMING the video game industry as a whole because of it.
Without street fighter 2 video games would not have boomed the way it did because of its introduction and no matter how hard other companies tried they did it best and other fighters inspired and copied a lot from it
SF6 just feels so boring. If I wanted to play xenoverse, I'd play xenoverse. If I wanted to play an arc systems game, I'd simply do that too. Feels like a lazy blending of much better games currently out to market. Hell the melty blood remake has smoother control
Except it's not xenoverse? You can ignore the avatar stuff and play it as simply a street fighter game, which it's a fantastic example of. Also how is it anything like an Arcsys game? You mongoloids are just spouting jibberish.
Also Melty Blood is a fucking terrible game lol. The shield crap breaks that game and every single character has the same combo route.

@PearseMclaughlin I didn't say they were superior to the franchise I'm saying 6 is a massive step back from older street fighters, it doesn't feel like a street fighter game it feels like an arcsys game but not as solid. I would rather play street fighter 5 again which is a blast nowadays. Just amazing how removed from the pinnacle that was 3rd strike its all become.
