- Well first off @everyone the good news is THIS event store in Star Trek Fleet Command is better than the LAST event store. But, has STFC been trending downwards in the amount of loot they give to players for Event Store months? Are we in a currency CRISIS? I tend to think so with recent trends and discuss why Scopely needs to be more generous with the community.

The first and foremost idiocy of STFC is the uneven player brackets set for various SLB events. This discourages player bracket progression.
Yes uniformity and predictability will go a long way in this game. But so would the game itself explaining stuff and not needing a community of people to data mine stuff.

There's nothing worse than the bracketing system they currently use for SLBs. I mean there's a incredibly long list of things that are wrong with this game. But that has to be at the top.
I give up on leaderboards. There are those 5 players who have a billion points the second the event starts so what is the point.
Event stores went from being something everyone looked forward to and transformed into "The month without Materials income"

The amount of "Heroic" events is just unreal this month, speed more time scrolling to find events than anything.
There was so much messed up this month and the Event Store tokens is just a small part. Relics you need to buy to turn in. Crew member offerings being added, then removed. Telling us there would be ship BP events in Patch Notes, then changing TBD w/o explaining TBD = later in May or June or 2025. Multiple events that require $100 to complete to earn tokens, etc. We were promised Quality over Quantity. This is an example of Quantity (more spend requirements) over Quality (better event store tokens/offerings).
Yes, the fixing of the Ship build mission was great. But more downs than upsides.
This is very nice to see info, but what ALSO absolutely matters is how much currency it costs to buy an officer shard, or a ship BP. If they increase the total currency amount, but proportionally increase the cost, then more currency would be useless overall. It would be theatrics!

100%. So much junk items. At minimum there should be a mass trade up system.
The Bigger problem were so many of the SLB's relied on having the Gorn ship specifically making in near impossible to even consider competition on some kinda even footing. There were far fewer LB's that just involved things in the game, Gain Power, Commander XP, Specialty building upgrades, etc. So it all got funneled to the Gorn people. The other problem is you need Chapel for the 30 Day LB (And in general) so much, you have to dump everything into her, leaving no room for picking up a few other things on the "wishlist" i.e. second Meridian, second Stella, etc.. Which is usually one of the best parts of the Event Store is getting something else you couldnt get before.
Preach Rev. As an active f2p, I can say the number of officers I DON’T have unlocked is growing much faster than the number off new officers I DO have unlocked.
it really doesn't matter, because in 1-2 years, by the time you might get it, something better will come instead and it will be out-dated.
How about a rant on how many Heroic Prime events there are this month?
Let those who want it buy them, it isn't effecting how I'm playing, just annoyed having to scroll past them everyday looking for active events
@@EmpNecro Considering there's 240k event currency behind it? When we ask for event store currency, they keep locking it behind paywalls.
Personally, a research sms with 100 points per new prime and 5 for each normal would have been less clutter and give f2p something to shoot for.
@@WriteToLive01when we ask for anything they lock it behind a pay wall. You want them to do something for F2P then get every F2P to throw up a 30 day shield and take a month off. When their wallet has nothing to do besides hit each other they will do something then but since you can get people to coordinate for a week because of FoMO you will never get them together for the time it will take to get something really done.
I haven't gotten any of the epic officers from the last two arcs because there's no way to do it without winning slb's. You always come up short about 30-50 shards. The rewards have been consistently decreasing for the input required. This needs to change. Make they game rewarding for the average player or the game will ultimately fail
Another question is where's the F2P path for the ship? Unless I missed it I haven't seen a way to acquire the Eviscerator outside the store yet
I'm surprised they didn't run it once during the arc just to see how many people went "oh hell no I'm not grinding this" and bought it anyway. Once the arc is over, we're never going to talk about that ship again.

They probably haven't gotten it working yet. Or they are hoping players will buy packs before arc ends. Which Is stupid because anyone who is going to buy the ship pack more than likely have done it at the start of the arc.

They need to let us clear out old event store currency by making it a generic one we always use
Rev. You are spot on as usual. You read the community well. Scopely… just like real inflation in 2024, our event loot isn’t buying what it needs to. So many officers not unlocked or even being used. Your business is “mature” in its cycle. Ops 39’s will stop playing and spending if you don’t catch them up… where is the ftp path to the Gorn ship. Where is the G5 ships in the “away” teams. This light spender no longer spends.. that’s not going to change Scopely until you start listening to the community!
For the last 3 event stores, I have felt it becoming more pay to play event store. Where medium to High spenders don't need to spend for the event store because they have everything all ready.
And good grief. Can they finally put the ISS Jellyfish blueprints either in an event store or in the Saturday hostile hunt selections?

I am lvl 55 in a top 5 alliance on my server .. have 260k in currency this month spent about 40k to unlock chapel and mbenga .. but even though it seems like more than the last event store it still doesn't seem like a ton as the prices for certain things I need are pretty high .. 5 epic shards is 30k .. so it makes it tough to catch up even with boosted numbers this month .. appreciate the slight rant .. cause some things I couldn't even place in as I was up against lvl 70 players in my brackets
As a f2p'er I managed to accrue around 180k opelian keystones from this end of the arc, I missed out on gaining more due to some events being ranked and in favour of spenders of course, or I just didn't feel I could do the grind to gain it from other types of events.
Most annoying thing for me is packs constantly costing either £99.99 or £49.99 and getting very little in them when you compare to the amount of free stuff you get in game you're led to believe what you got for free by just playing is worth hundreds and hundreds of £.
If they actually threw out pocket money packs e.g £4.99/£9.99 and give a decent amount of goodies in them I'd bet many more folks would spend more often instead of relying on those with fat wallets and huge disposable income.
I'd certainly be more inclined to spend smaller amounts on packs that seem worth the cost, rather than large chunks of cash for packs that don't feel have good value to them.
The event store currency seems to have been dropping since December 2022 with the DS9 event store. If I am remembering correctly, that was probably the best one we have had and we were able to obtain the most currency.
Now with the change of dropping the loot from the tickets, it makes it near impossible to get back to a more meaningful amount of currency. Scopely has a certain evaluation of value and it gets skewed during event store months.
Not a f2p player at all and I look at this amount of event store currency and think....that's it? It literally feels like it's half of what we should have. Scopely, listen to the people. We should have more
All you said and how about improving what's actually offered in said event store, more ship skins, maybe some forbidden tech, more hard to get stuff. The event store has been the same stuff for like a year. And how about making some of the resources way cheaper as a trade in (looking at you tier up catalyst).
Yeah, I think that's another frustrating part. There are a lot of skins and projectiles that are partially collected and never really any way to get them again. Why aren't they putting them in the event stores? They keep putting common things in there, but it should be a place to put the obscure things people need to finish getting that they can't get in other ways.
Pretty sure the event store hasn't really changed since DS9 arc.
The only variation is the officers are the old officers from the arc and about halfway through they give you a paywall item to get more of whatever "requested" item that maybe two people actually asked for.
When I started this game a couple of years ago it felt like I got my grinds worth at the end of arc store. I use to look forward to this time and actually get excited , it would hype us up to keep playing. Now it's a complete joke, It's obnoxious and irritating that so many points are held behind spend events (primes and gorn ship specifically this go round). Even leaderboards are a bad way to go about this because at the end of the day it will go to who spends more and alliances who stack themselves with whales. I have no issue with anyone spending, but there needs to be a balance of rewarding. I have so many officers that i need to complete, and the prices per bp is unrealistic for the amount they are handing out. Being in the 40+ range we really look forward to this time around, and it just makes me feel even more like they don't respect our time or dedication to continue to play even with all of the things that need to be fixed. I get it they want people to spend, but be better, reward the player base as a whole for the work they put in, regardless if they are f2p, low spenders, or whales. At the end of the day they aren't listening, I remember you making a video exactly about this topic before and no changes.

Agreed. I think it's also valuable to point out that the Rep SLB for probably majority of players wasn't a grinder slb as top slots were dominated by people buying rep packs.
As a mid 50s player, I do believe that was the case in that bracket, hence no grinding done here. However 50 and below it was probably a grinders event minus the few
@@EmpNecrothat is a subjective statement. The guy who took the lead on the bracket I'm in on the server was ten times the second place slot 8 hours in at around 400 million. Yes, he did grind but considering it was 3 ships for about 5 minutes and I scored more with one ship for the full hull than he did with the three I guarantee that the majority of his points came from packs or other things like Away team rep gains.
When you see someone take that much of a lead at the start it also discourages you from really trying that was seen in this case considering that I did just my dailies and events only and was 11th place. If I had a day to sit in the game grinding I might have taken the lead assuming he didn't just throw a few hundred dollars at it again.
Actually, opposite was true. Top spots (not including 51-70 LB) was dominated by F2P/grinders. Majority of players it absolutely was and is a grinders SLB.
@@RevDeuce I'm ops 41 top 3 slots in my bracket bought 2 of the 80m or whatever rep packs. Less than 30 mins in and top slot had 160m rep gained with second and third doing so a little later. Maybe other servers/brackets had different experiences.
Can you also address how spend events have had a massive inflation jump in points needed to finish the SMS?
So, looking at it from a "points per month wait", and only for the F2P column, the ranking moves around a bit:
5th 134,550 - Gorn
9th 69,900 - Ent (worst)
2nd 417,500 - Make It So
7th 107,150 - Voyager
1st 239,050 - Legacy (best)
4th 162,000 - DS9
3rd 167,100 - SNW
8th 78,813 - Anthology
6th 110,850 - Duality
The average points/month for a store is 142,024 which, surprisingly, makes this month is almost back to "normal", helped by the fact that we only had a 2 month wait for this one.
On the other hand, DS9 ranks 4th when you look at how many months players waited.
I would put to you then that "the bar" should be set at 150,000 points per month since the last store for F2P.
We should also monitor the costs in the store, but if we set the standard to be "2,000 for a rare officer, and 6,000 for an epic", that should keep things on an even keel.
I've noticed they are pushing the primes to get the event loot, that is not fair for the FTP. We need more event store currency available to FTP events.

What ever happened to sourcing for items like Triskelion Torpedo Projectile? I got 50/75 shards a long while ago from an event store. Haven’t seen sourcing for this projectile since! Too many things are getting forgotten by Scopely! I feel like if I don’t have enough event currency to complete an item, don’t bother! I may never be able to complete it!! Frustrating!!!
The Event Store could need a serious upgrade, what they have added through the last half dozend runs or so was a joke, they have even removed some of the refits since.
Where is stuff like: Fleet commanders, older FT / blue & purple FT-fragments, older speciality ship skins, projectiles, scpeciality ship cloaks (defiant...), the NX-01, some of the really old prime currencies...
FACTS. I end up just using it on materials, independent credits, etc.
This has very much become a let down, If there is another constant way of getting something in the game I don't get it from the event store. For me that leaves officers, some ships, and certain ship parts. But now that I have 3 meridians, 2 Botany Bays, 3 D'Vors and 2 Fesha's ships are pointless. So this event store I unlocked Hoshi and chapel As an afterthought I am looking at the Fesha warp interlock to proceed past T4. Otherwise this month was a waste of time.

To me, its not just the loot, which needs improvement but the contents that needs to always be evolving. Other than rotating in the new officers, I feel like the contents of an event store hasn't changed in 2 years. As you said, it should be a f2p catch-up mechanic, but without adding new things like FT (wouldn't this have been the perfect place to put the Ferengi Whip, make it cost the amount of loot in a $100 event store pack or $50 cash, player's choice) it's really not much of a catch up any more.
I'd like them to change the event store they have for cosmic cleanup. I believe by now most players already have the discovery, sarcophacus, and it's other rewards. Maybe have it refined to each person's ops level and offer ship blueprints for different ships and other stuff.
This month seemed kinda MEH for me. Seems like they’re flooding the events with too many heroic leader boards.
They have thrown heroic on everything so they could raise the goals and since all the CCs have preached that heroic is Scopley for spend event people don't complain as much but now they are realizing that all of the events are having heroic added.
Agree, there should been more of the loot. But for the currency it's just more clutter to add game. I have so many different currency leftovers it's rediculess. Here's a good idea. how about so way to get rid of the old currency crap. I have pages of it.

I’ll keep mentioning Rev, this game is far too much P2P now than it used to be - I’ve been playing 4 years and I spend only a little but can’t afford to compete in many of these SLBs because top 10 winners are always those who pay for everything available. It suxs to be a competitive person but unable to have a chance to win anything
I agree with what you are saying Rev, some of the SLB I ignore because I know I can’t finish in top ten or simply the rewards not worth it
When I see a leaderboard option I automatically ignore it as a light spender and I'll try the new event, but generally I have to wait until my research and ships catch up in 3 to 4 months before I'm able to barely start on the cycle. Still can't do anything on the silent enemies, maybe I'll try again in a couple of months.
Since I can't participate in some of the events because I can't destroy the hostiles I'm getting a lot less. One thing I would love to see at it is a way to source every single officer all the time. I spent 60k to finish unlocking chapel. That only puts me at about 220k total. Level 41 completely free to play
Update/complaint. WHY DO I HAVE TO DO 3 SEPERATE CLICKS FOR 1 MANTIS BP! I'M DOING 100 OF THESE WHY IS IT 300 CLICKS SCOPELY!
Light spender, ops 33 at the start of the event (although I'm currently on the way to 35 now, wanted to unlock the mantis and my g3 epics to snag bps).
I had a bunch of ticket event entries saved up/also just bought some so I've done... 2 weeks of those? And bought the battlepass. Sitting at 278.2k after spending 3k on protomatter to make back 3k on the FT event.
I'm planning on fully unlocking the Mantis, then maybe speeding up my voyager (at 55/100 right now) after finishing up the 10 shards I need to unlock Chapel. So I think I've done pretty well for myself. But compared to what I would like to do it definitely feels light
There’s too much old, obsolete content versus way too many pay to play packs. Amalgum refinery needs an update. Just one example alone could be adding polaron beam disco warp range glaas refit. There is just so many things I for one would never pay for, but should be able to earn it either by event stores refineries research just too much junk and not enough fun anymore.

Honestly, the currency needs to go up, or the cost down. I managed to get Chapel, I was 14 away, Hohsi,13 away.. and finally got Freeman, but my god she was expensive....144k for 23 shards. I'm sitting on about 43k left, and no clue where to spend it. Just hit Ops 48, hope the next go around i can compete more, because i feel like I grinded a lot, and didn't come close to competing on a lot of these leaders boards
"Scopely needs to do better" is something we've all been saying for years now
More loot behind leaderboards, 51-70 brackets, significant reduction in officer sourcing during the arc - all focused on having content locked behind paywalls and increased monetisation that has been more apparent as months go by.
As a ops 49 ftp with 1 day to go I'm at 232k event store loot, without being able to top any leader boards the amount of loot being given out is pitiful to say the least, for well over a year maybe 2 all event stores have been very meh and months to chill and relax in rather then progress in the game. Way to many things being locked behind paywalls and heroic events.
Even as crappy as the event store currency payouts have been I have been able to get the Titan-A, nurse chapel, and Hosi Sato (personal want) and still have currency left over to spend on more nurse chapel shards. All Free to Play. I'm level 37 and usually 2 ships in Sol, Kronos, or Romulus gets my event store currency for the day. Rev I understand the Gripe but little ol me can do that with no leaderboard and all FTP then I am not gonna complain to Scopely at least for now.
You're absolutely correct, much less currency. Also so many 2 and 3 day events plus the arc events that are 30 days are ridiculous to only have top 5,25 people get anything. So much to grind especially for 3 day grind events it's B.S. for 2 or 3 shards. Scopley's cheap ass doesn't give us shit and lazy ass give 3 day events so they don't have to get creative. Plus I just went to 58, I'm not a whale but in the same slbs as level 65,66 players B.S.
It's been a solid nice month, not overwhelming with new content, things gone smoothly. The officer store, because let's face it with officer sourcing specially in 40's is just ridiculous I have no other option to get them.

I agree with the logic here. Add this to a series of codes to put in that you have to be of a higher level to even use is nuts. Being at Lecel 29, it does seem like the game discourages lower level players from sticking with the game or new players from picking it up. Unless that isnyou wanna dump hundreds of dollars into the game.
And i may be wrong, but it feels like unless you are in a top 10 Alliance or are near maxed out level....that the grinding is the opposite of typical game mechanics. Where you earn stuff faster at lower levels than at higher. Which again....discourages new players or other players to stick with the game.
It’s not only event store loot it’s what is actually offered in the event store. There are a ton of older content that should be earned f2p by now and just doesn’t get added. Feed back from the last Event store just got ignored and nothing meaningful gets added. The game is leaning to G6 and spenders more and more. You see it in the events. You see it in the content and also how quickly Scopely reacts to feedback from whales. The same thing happened to their other game TWD and it’s on life support.
The two months are worse. Officers released in the month of the store are rarely in the store, and not in the next arcs store. Since the two months arcs started I haven't been able to get 1 epic officer

Fully agree with you once again, Rev. Many people feel this way, and i can't help but think that it would be in their own interest to help F2P players. I think after all the stuff we've seen happening, with so many bugs and glitches and also the stuff you mention in your video, scopely could score big time with even just a single epic event store. Honestly a missed opportunity for them this month, i think.
With this being a two month store I can see them waiting for a four month event store but it doesn't change that they need to do something. Hell give us a Mirror Universe Arc and have that be a build up for an event store with all the items that are not purchasable and maybe give you a token that unlocks an item in the store so you can choose from several pack items. An definitely need to add the ISS Jelly to the mix and make the signature items skins for the Augment ships that let them benefit from the faction research.
It's simple for me, I don't get to unlock/tier stuff? I don't move up. my alliance has multiple people sitting at ops 29 trying to unlock (and in some cases max) 5 of 11 and Moreau cause they see the "bigger" (35~39s) use them for armadas(only 5) and grinding(pike moreau) and complain about how hard it is to upgrade them. All the average player hears about the 40s is the bottlenecks and how hard/impossible certain loops are without certain officers. Gorn for example, people with no isolytic officers and no isolytic artifacts (cause Voyager mining is worse than mining green data so I don't blame people for wanting to skip it.) are SOL.
Back in the early days of Star Trek Fleet command the three fractions for all available it still counted on what rank you are but you at least had options with the three factions a ship here

I am a little late on watching this video, and I have not read ALL the comments, but one thing you did not address was whether the value per Keystone was different. Giving us a higher payout does nothing if the costs increase relatively. So i would not care if the amount of payout decreases, as long as the cost per item also decreases. Alternatively, if the payout is 600000k one month but the individual items cost way more to coins, then that is not a benefit. I hope I am making sense.

We do need some more currency than we have been getting, but they really need to bring back the ability to get paid items in the event store. If it has been out for 6 months to a year already or longer, we are not going to buy it lol.Give us a chance to grind it out and purchase a item or two that we can't obtain.

Remember to split the quantity of the currency from.what it buys in your player feedback survey. IMO good to great currency, lacking purchase items.
Ops 44 total currency 357.5k
I spent 330 this month and didn't rank high enough to get any rewards because I compete with 6* players. There is no point in spending any money at all. I probably won't even bother with battle pass any longer because it's I feel like there's no point in even trying 🤷🏾

BP and event currency cráp this month, I've had much more rewarding months before, PLUS 2 hotly contested tickets on currency non receipt, which Scopely eventually (after "exhaustive analysis") owned up they'd got it wrong. Flip side example... monaveen trit refining is excellent
We regards to old currencies lets trade them in for new currencies. Use a conversation rate so Scopely isn’t too generous 😂
Was really hoping to see the ferengi whip in the event store but I guess that will be a permanent pay for item.
The currency may go up with the next event store, but I doubt we'll reach the dizzy heights of DS9 again. A shame I suppose, after all, Scopely is a business. As a very light spender bordering on F2P myself, I'm just amazed that they have tolerated us for so long.
Currently have 256.8K in currency being a F2P with Elite Pass player. I was hoping to get all of the Stella Refit Shards, but will more than likely go for the Refractive Beam Shades instead to benefit all my ships instead of just 1.
Currency is meaningless if there's not enough to spend it on. Event stores need updating to include recent things; skins, projectiles, FTs, artifacts, fleet commanders, prime research tokens etc. Don't expect it to include things from current arc but it should only be 1-2 arcs behind.
Yeah needed better event currency drops, more sms rather than leaderbords, better officer shard sourcing and evicerator ship bps acquisition. I grade it a D to an F
As of today I have 239,3 k. That's SMS and some LB's scored. I did not do and I'm not planning to do a rare ticket event. Still have 30 k from mission key hunter to do but should finish it before it expires.

They appear to have forgotten about a few events. I'm waiting for last event of orders captain. There need to stop hiding stuff be hehind pay walls and ticketed events.
It would be really nice if there was more ways to upgrade artifact gallery besides formation armadas

Let's not forget the ridiculous number of P2W events cluttering up the screen... and the number of LB's that require the purchase of pay items/artifacts/ships/etc in order to have a chance of placing... Let's get rid of the pretext that F2P grinding had a chance in those LB's... it doesn't any longer...
I think the ticket change is actually a good thing - it gives balance to the event store month, particularly as for a lot of players its a struggle to find anything really good to use your currency on. What is an issue and is the real topic of the video is to have more access to event store currency. Maybe an arc long alliance event that gives maybe 60k currency could be considered, or perhaps a weekly grind event for players that offers 2 easy milestones for say 10k currency and 2 much much harder milestones that offer say 25k currency. Dont make it easy, but make it possible

Very low compared to what I've gotten on past stores. Removing store currency from ticket events was a bad idea. Just all out poor. Same with changes to SyndicateXP event where you used to be able to get the 2nd milestone if you saved and planned right. You used to be able to get decent event store as well if you planned and played things right. Guess Scopley doesn't want us little to pay to get stuff.

Look at the SLBs, it is such low payouts, it doesn't reward the time spend grinding.
Since the new owners the rewards has been pathetic.
What happened to the free path for the Evisorator... Did it get Evisorated?
There's too much stuff that is either missing from the event store or too expensive for the loot they give. I'm Ops 54 and can't compete with high 60s players on all the SLB's so basically only get the SMS rewards.
They need smaller SLB brackets too.
The amount of paid events this month has been excessive. I bought chapel when she was released and even though I’ve ploughed all of my event store currency into her, she still hasn’t reached tier 3. I’m at the bottom of the ops range in my bracket for SLBs (ops 46) so competing with higher levels in SLBs has been challenging. I feel for those in the 50s who are up against the biggest players in the game.
The ticket events were a kick in the teeth if I’m honest. The whales might not like that the event store doesn’t have anything for them and I understand that’s why we have mats in the tickets? Simple solution to that is stop buying everything when it comes out. Don’t push Scopely into holding back the free to play/light spenders because you’ve bought everything and the event store has no value to you. Simples!
I am doubtful I will even get a valdore cloak unlocked from this event store. It has drained my desire to pay.
The current ticketed events are paying RSS and Mats, not currency, but I didn't look at the previous run of 9. BP player here, and I think I actually picked up close to 450K with all SLBs and ALBs included. Someone will need to pay for a bundle to beat me in the currency SLB too...

300k is kind of the right amount of currency for catching up. Most of the old ships are 75k. You can unlock all rare officers from the previous months. You can get 50 shards of an epic. This month, my 300k got me 50 sets of both forbidden tech juice. That's what I feel I need to catch up and they let me have all of it. More feels better, but let them save more for December to make that store feel the way it really should 😊
if they were actually giving you shards during the arc yes but now you have to more or less buy the rares having only gotten as little as 7 shards during that arc
While there are Event Currency packs whats the incentive to give it away?
more and more currency needs to be spent just getting tier 1 rare officers....yet the tier 1 epics can be (somewhat) reasonably obtained with the SMS and SLB between event arcs...seems pretty messed up and backwards
