The Road Glide 3...Is it the cool trike? Even if your not in the market for a trike, you will want to watch this one and see the struggles I had riding this Harley Davidson. Going from 2 wheels to 3 wheels presents a whole new way of riding. Thanks for watching, liking, sharing, commenting and subscribing. If you are new to the channel or if you just haven't hit that subscribe icon, I would be honored if you would consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe all. Rick HDVIBE
I love my RG3. My husband recently went from 2 wheels to 3 wheels. He said just what you did...feeling the bump. After a while, you do not notice those bumps. You get used to it. Arm strength is a must.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm sure you do get accustomed to the front end moving when hitting bumps. It was very smooth on the interstate. Ride safe and enjoy ✌️👊👍

I have to admit the RG3 are not for everyone they take some getting used to. I had no choice my knees are getting weak and I had to give up my street glide special!! I'll be a biker for the rest of my life!! God Bless You all no matter what you ride!!!!
In July 2024 traded my ultra for a Road Glide 3. Turning 70, retired Special Forces soldier and my career caught up to my body. Bottom line: Sciatica and age almost cause me to drop my Ultra coming off a freeway where I live. Made the mistake of telling my wife and the push was on to get rid of my Ultra. The Road Glide 3, I have had about the same experiences you had. Never road a trike before and it is the roughest riding bike I have ever road. You do feel ever bump. Also if you see a rough patch of road ahead you have to divide the difference on where to put the front wheel vs. the back two wheels. I did make changes to my Road Glide 3. I put front crash bars on because I put lower fairing on it for winter riding and highway peg onto the front crash bars. I replaced the seat with a Mustang seat (My personal preference) and I'm in the process of putting a tour pack on this bike. There is no stock or aftermarket mount for what I'm doing so I'm fabricating my own. I find the rear trunk on this bike limiting. I had the same problems of putting my legs down but after 3 months of riding this bike I rarely do now. After 3 months of riding this bike, I think the that I am warm about this bike, not hot or cold. There's things I like and there are thing that I absolutely dislike about this bike. Two major dislikes: 1. Turning, I read that putting 12 to 13" apes help. 2. You feel every bump, I seen on UA-cam where a guy put air ride on his but I don't know if that help or not. One last oh by the way, at least to me, this bike seem harder to get off of because there is no lean to the bike - No kickstand to put down

I love the RG3… except the bumps. That being said I opted for installing a not to be named trike kit with independent suspension & air ride. Man what a huge difference it makes for the driver and more so for the passenger. If HD ever comes out with a trike with independent suspension and air ride they will OWN the trike market!

The ride on any HD Trike is rougher than your two wheel bikes. The trade off is the Trike is more stable on the road. Also, it does take a little adapting to the characteristics and functionality of 3 wheels. It handles and rides quite differently than 2 wheels. With more hours on the road with a Trike, the more you will adapt to the features riding on 3 wheels. In short, the Road Glide 3 is fun, safe, functional, and definitely stylish. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree with your points. As this was my first ride on a Harley Trike it definitely was different than being on two wheels. Once on the interstate, it was definitely smooth and an enjoyable ride. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. The test rider on this RG3 is obviously a rooky rider. I will make a suggestion tho, for those of you who have an RG3. Im 5'8 and 200lbs. I had the dealer adjust the stock bars all the way up, and it makes one hell of a difference in your riding position and your upper body input while steering. Try it, no need for ape hangers at all. Ride safe..

Thanks Art for watching and commenting. I was very honored to be able to be part of the demo truck event staff and lead the demo rides and get to give the Road Glide 3 a nice test ride. It is an interesting bike and a good option for those that may need or want to move from 2 wheels to 3 wheels. I'll stick with 2 wheels for as long as I can. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
We have a 23 Freewheeler which the RG3 is with a fairing. You feel bumps because the rear is a straight axle(there is a suspension adjuster under the seat). You get used to it. Steering? You get used to it. Sharp curves you slow down a bit. Big curves I try to straight line them. Curve left, I enter from the right side of the lane then move to the Center at the curve then throttle out. Not having to put your feet down while stopped? 👍👍. As for the back rest, “Everything” is an option on a Harley. You don’t even get LED’s. We change all those out, at Custom Dynamics. Lifetime warranty and a lot cheaper cost.

Given the cost + the additional cost to upgrade the suspension I’m wondering if it’s a better option to convert an existing touring model that’s maybe paid off with one of those trike conversion kits. The suspension systems on some of those look very high end vs what Harley is using. 🤷♂️ guess I’ll figure that out in about 15 years. Or more hopefully!!!!
Gotta love the "you don't know what you're talking about until you upgrade everything on the trike" replies. Thanks for the honest first ride impressions. Bone stock it rides like a truck. Period. Neither good or bad depending on what you're looking for. There are many positives for this H-D, but if you need to add thousands in improvements on a $35,000.00 vehicle to get the way it's "supposed" to ride, then this review is an accurate and necessary addition to the conversation for anyone looking at an RG3. Bottom line: test ride one for yourself.
Thanks Jack for watching and commenting. I was a unique experience for me for a first time on a Harley Trike. Looks like a Road Glide from the tank forward, but, when you hit the first bump in the road you know it's not a Road Glide...✌️👊👍
So many reviews saying, "I never rode a trike before. Boy, this thing feels weird." Maybe that's somewhat helpful to people who are considering changing from two to three wheels, but in terms of learning how it stacks up to other trikes, it's completely useless. This is more an overview of how a trike is different from a bike than a review of the RG3.
Thanks for watching and commenting. As mentioned in the video, this is for sure my first impressions. I'm no Trike expert and never would claim to be. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊👍✌️
@@HDVIBE I'm not trying to be a contrarian and I shouldn't have used the term "completely useless" because it isn't. It is useful to see points where the RG3 differs from other trikes. Trikes have their own charm and really come into their own on long highway rides. Keep riding them when you can and you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for the follow up. If you really want to get a hands on experience with the RG3, at the present time all the demo trucks have one. So if a demo days is happening near you...check it out and see what you think. 👊👍✌️
Thanks for watching and commenting. Since I've never ridden a Harley three wheeled bike, I have nothing to compare the Road Glide 3 to. Perhaps the fixed fairing set up creates a different ride than the batwing. The points on ride have been similar by others that have ridden the RG3. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
I've never ridden a 3 wheel anything. Does the rear shocks adjust at all or is it all fixed. Looks like it would be good for a long trip since it has all that storage in the rear. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching and commenting. It does have adjustable shocks on the rear similar to the other touring bikes. If you are already a subscriber thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. You can not add a tour pack on the RG3. It has a big trunk in the back. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Thanks for the unapologetic critique of the RG3! With the steering & control(the bumpiness of the ride feel). The 6 colors all "seem" so drab & dark. Very nice done presentation!👍🤓🦅 Doug

@HDVIBE Hey bud I have a RG3 and a 23 Breakout. I bought the RG trike from Docs. They made changes to the suspension to make it ride great…turns faster too. I went from an SGS to this and it’s certainly takes a new set of skills to get used but I’m sure given some time you could go back and forth from 2-3 in no time. See you around St. Louis. Ride on.
Thanks for watching and contributing this great perspective on the topic. Hope to see you out on the STL roads. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. I’m waiting for my RG3 to come in. They didn’t have one in stock so I rode a Tri Glide around the parking lot. What did you have done to the suspension?
Gateway Harley Davidson, where I bought both my bikes. Grew up right down the road, parents still live there. It’s weird to watch a riding video and know exactly where you are.
Thanks Roger for watching and commenting. I also grew up in that area but now live out west of St Louis. I teach the new rider and skilled rider courses at Gateway was well. @@HDVIBE I took the MSF course there, wasn’t aware they provided an advanced course. May have to look into that along with my brother. Yeah, I saw something in one of your videos, can’t remember what it was, but I noticed you were somewhere in St. Charles county. Keep up the good work and maybe I’ll see you at Gateway some time. Subscribed, btw.
Thanks Darrell for watching and commenting. I'm with you...cool bike but I'm not looking forward to the day when I have to make the decision to go to 3 wheels. Thanks for your continued support to the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍✌️👊
Trike sales have been booming in recent years. I've never had a chance to try one and hope i do get to ride one. The rear fenders look to be minimal and look like you're going to get wrt on a rainly day.
It is a different riding experience for sure Eric. Not one that I particularly liked but if my option were 3 wheels or no riding...I'd go to 3 wheels. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
The problem with this review is that you are giving your thoughts/impressions on something you need to learn about. If you had spent a little time accessing the readily available information (DK Custom Products-many trike-related videos) and orienting yourself more to trikes, you could have provided a review that not only gave your impression but also provided valuable information. Everything you were complaining about regarding your ride is fixable. For example, Ciro 3D has frame-mounted highway pegs, which is an excellent product. You mentioned attaching pegs to the floorboards! Adding a lift kit, an inexpensive upgrade, greatly improves steering. Suspension upgrades will smooth the ride considerably. I question the value of posting a review on something you don't know anything about. It gives the wrong impression.
Thanks for watching and commenting with your input on the topic. As the video is titled, it is a first impressions and test ride video versus a full review. I appreciate your feedback and certainly there are options to improve any motorcycle with aftermarket accessories and parts. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
I just love people that do a review on something they know nothing about. Go take a riders course. Also you need to read the owners manual. I had a friend that was apprehensive about buying and riding a trike because of people like you. She bought the trike Rhode the trike. After the first ride she came back and said oh my God I love it. But she's been riding a motorcycle probably for 40 years. And she can actually ride. Oh and actually knows how to use the brakes properly on a motorcycle or a trike.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Respectfully I will inform you that I am a nationally certified and Harley Davidson certified MSF and Harley Ride Academy instructor. This video is based upon my first ride experience on a 3 wheel Harley as I very clearly state in the video. There is no question riding a 3 wheel Harley is very different than riding on 2 wheels...that was the gist of several points I made in the video. Thanks for supporting the channel through your view and comment. I look forward to seeing your comments on other and future videos. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
Never rode any of the trikes...every stop I would have to remind myself "don't put your foot down"!😂...sounds like a good suspension would make a fist modification!...thanks for sharing...stay safe...ride safe!!😎🤙👍🤙👍🇨🇦
Thanks for watching and commenting. Not sure if suspension would fix the front end movement when hitting bumps in the road. I think it may be the the way it is on a Trike. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️

I will look for something 3 wheels in time, once my confidence gets challenged in future years. But the Road Glide 3 ….. hard pass. If I want a trike it will be for travelling and this bike has about 1/4 the storage compared to the road glide. …and you cant put a tour pack on because of the trunk design. All it has going for it is a cool look, but poor poor poor functionality Hard pass - fail … in my opinion.
Thanks Craig for watching and commenting. I definitely see your point regarding storage. Definitely very limited to the trunk. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
Why do people do these "reviews" and all they do is complain about how much different it is than a 2 wheeler? NO KIDDING!!!! If it's so difficult for you, turn around and park it. Get back on your 2 wheeler. Those of us who have to ride a trike love ours and don't really appreciate those of you who really don't know anything about them "reviewing" them. Of course it's different. I'm 60 and have no problem maneuvering mine and it's not a big deal if you do want to put your foot down. Horrible video.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Just to be clear, I never said it was a review. I mentioned at the very beginning it was my impressions coming from someone that has never ridden on a three wheel Harley. So it's my perspective I shared not saying it's bad or good...just perspective. I'm sure if anyone rode one every day as I do on two wheels, then one would get accustomed to how to maneuver it and ride it. Sorry you seem to have taken offense to my opinion...it's a free video so take it for what it is...no one has to watch but almost 8,000 people have so hopefully it will give those that haven't ridden on perspective and they can test ride one for themselves and generate their own opinion. Have a great day, and ride safe out there. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective. I'm not sure what you referring to as these are my opinions and facts about the RG3. Nothing on this video or on my channel are a lie. Have a great New Year and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Very cool looking , great option down the road 🤙
Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊👍✌️
My new ultra b tri-glide is not a bumpy ride unless I hit b a pot hole. Also it turns easy, maybe the one he is riding has issues.
@@HDVIBE I am one of your subs, you've been doing some great reviews. Sorry if I don't always comment but I smash that thumbsUp. Take care.
Thank you. Much appreciated. ✌️👊👍
Could a tour pack be put on this bike
Thanks for watching and commenting. You can not add a tour pack on the RG3. It has a big trunk in the back. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
Thanks for the unapologetic critique of the RG3! With the steering & control(the bumpiness of the ride feel). The 6 colors all "seem" so drab & dark. Very nice done presentation!👍🤓🦅 Doug
Thanks Doug for watching and commenting. If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
@HDVIBE
Hey bud I have a RG3 and a 23 Breakout.
If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
If you are already a subscriber...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Thanks Roger. Ride safe. 👊👍✌️
Sharp bike, just glad I’m not ready for one👍👍
👍 ✌
✌️✌️👍
Never rode any of the trikes...every stop I would have to remind myself "don't put your foot down"!😂...sounds like a good suspension would make a fist modification!...thanks for sharing...stay safe...ride safe!!😎🤙👍🤙👍🇨🇦
Thanks for watching and commenting. Not sure if suspension would fix the front end movement when hitting bumps in the road. I think it may be the the way it is on a Trike. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
Sounds like you're getting punched or kicked when you hit a bump on thr road 😅 it hurts that bad?
Thanks for watching and commenting. It was definitely rough when hitting a bump. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe.
All it has going for it is a cool look, but poor poor poor functionality
Hard pass - fail … in my opinion.
Thanks Craig for watching and commenting. I definitely see your point regarding storage. Definitely very limited to the trunk. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
@@HDVIBE - Well done Rick !
Thanks Craig. 👍
I do not like how the 3 wheel bikes ride 🇺🇸👍👍👍
I agree John. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe and enjoy.
Your review is so not true why you waste your time and lie to everyone on here
Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective. I'm not sure what you referring to as these are my opinions and facts about the RG3. Nothing on this video or on my channel are a lie. Have a great New Year and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
I don’t think you know how to ride a bike
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not sure what draws you to that conclusion. I will share that I am an MSF and Harley certified rider coach qualified to instruct the basic rider endorsement course as well as the skilled rider course. If you are already a subscriber..thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
