I’m 2018 when I decided I wanted a trike, I really liked the Freewheeler because of the way it channels the old Servicar but I went with the Tri Glide because of the greater luggage capacity. I haven’t regretted it but I do wish I could afford to have both. A FW set up in the manner of an old Servicar police motorcycle would be really cool.
Thank you for your information. I love my RG3 more than my Triglide. (Added your channel to my last video notes because of all this information I learn from you).
Found your channel while looking for info on the Roadglide 3. I’m going to purchase one for my wife. I’ll stay on 2 wheels for a few more years then convert my CVO to 3. Thanks for what you do!
I bought the RoadGlide3 after having owned two Freewheelers. I really enjoy the RG3. It is a solid ride. The speakers are inadequate at highway speeds, but I like the sound of the engine more. It just purrs. I like the way that the fairing cuts through the wind. The standard wind shield is just right for me. The standard handlebars are a comfortable height. I added the bumper, luggage rack, passenger backrest, heat deflectors, heal shifter, and edge cut grips. In the future I may add a brake strobe, and engine guard. I am very happy with my RG3.
Road Glide 3 is sporty looking and the TriGlide is more functional. Plus the TriGlide has better wind protection. What it boils down to is your personal choice.
Here is my opinion. I own a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra with a serious amount of money in upgrades. If you like to load up and take trips or even long day runs, the TGU is the ride. On the other hand, if you like short riding and around town, the RG3 is your ride. You would not believe what my wife and I can carry on the TGU with the top rack and the HD bag that fits on the rack like a glove. We also have the matching luggage for the trunk and tons of room in the top box. We can go at least 4 days without washing clothes.
Hello Donnie. Great Video! I plan to Purchase a Used Freewheeler (reason being that personally I'm not fond of The New Black-Out Look and I never have liked the look of Fairings on Motorcycles). This I plan to convert into My idea of the Ultimate Touring Trike. What this build will involve is basically replacing the Trunk,, and Seat, with the complete Seat, Trunk, and Tour Pack with Luggage Rack, of a Tri Glide Ultra, for the ability to carry Camping Gear. Also, I plan to convert 2 Half Barrel Beer Kegs (15.5 gallons each) to Gas Tanks and mount them on both sides between the Passenger Seat and the Rear Fenders, complete with electric pump, hose and nozzle to be installed in the Tour Pack. This would give me a range of nearly 1500 miles instead of 250, and the ability to help any other Bikers I might meet that ran out of Gas. I didn't know about the difference in the Rear Tire sizes till now, so I guess I should swap them out as well. Thanks for the Info. Anyhow, this is my Dream Trike... "Ride On!"
donnie put the new harley pro street tuner in my 21 tri glide.with tab slip ons and big sucker breather. the tuner WOKE MY BIKE UP!! BIG Difference.runs like its on fire! peace!
Donnie, I’m in the process of making a transition to three wheels. I have ordered a Blue on black RG3. However going to the 120th anniversary party a friend was telling me the Triglide has more features for the extra $$$. This video has cleared things up for me greatly. I love all your posts. God bless buddy for getting these out. They have been extremely helpful.
Good-Evening: Donnie, Thank you for the same comparison between the Road-Glide 3 to Tri-Glide that I did as well. The only thing that really separates the two right now would be the availability, between the two. Which the Tri-Glide would came out on top. Cin-Cin and Salute, Have a blessed riding day.....
A very good friend of mine Duste Craig did an article in Thunder Roads Magazine when the Freewheeler 1st came out in 2015. He rode both and compared the handling, his quote stuck with me when I was shopping for my 1st trike, he said" the Triglide handling was more like a barge, where the Freewheeler was like a sailboat". In my experience the RG3 is actually better handling than the Freewheeler, possibly from the bigger tires.
Very close comparison!! Yes, the handling is different for sure. And the TriGlide is more top heavy as well. Love how the RG3 handles! Thanks for sharing your comment!
I have a 19 blk tri glide with a 131. Put 80K into this bike. Here in NC the Raleigh wanted and got 51K out the door for the 120 red trike and thats with a 114 motor. Did not want step down from what I already have. What most people do not know is that the trike is the fastest bike that Harley makes. Great information.
What about front ends? Ultra front end is way heavy compared to Road glide 3 trike. How does the triglide front end compare? Like Ultra or roadglide 3?
The TriGlide’s, the Ultra’s and the Limited’s all have the same weight in the front due to the liquid cooling systems. All the others are air cooled and not carrying the extra equipment.
You’ll feel wind buffeting in the bars from the batwing on the triglide where the fairing is frame mounted on the road glide 3 so you don’t feel it. Roadglide 3 for the win
The prices HARLEY DAVIDSON is asking for a RG3 FOR 2024 IS OUTRAGEOUS $40,000.00 IT'S ONLY A 114 NOT 117,128 OR EVEN 131 HARLEY DAVIDSON IS PRICING THEMSELVES RIGHT OUT OF THE MARKET NO ENTRY LEVEL BIKES FOR BEGINNERS EVEN

I want tri glide body work on a road glide 3 complete with tour pack and lowers.

We bought the blacked out Freewheeler and luv it. Added the windshield, and numerous extras(there’s Always extras).

If you're travelling with a passenger, the TG is the only way to go.

Nice!! We’re still waiting for a tuner for the RG3 to be developed. HD doesn’t have the MAP designed yet. Grrr… Thanks for your comment, Russell!! 👊🏼😎

The TGU has a tooth more in first gear for torque starting from stop.
thanks for the video.
Yes sir! Appreciate you!!
I don't care, what anyone says, that r3 looks like a war machine, it's one Kool looking machine🏹
Nice 🇩🇰
The straight axel ruins them .
They ride like log wagons.
I’ll give ya that!! Independent would be nice!
RG 3 vs Tri Glide? That's like comparing the same chick in different dresses.
😆
