I remember , with great affection , dancing the St Bernard's Waltz most Saturday nights, from 1957 to 1960, at Reston village hall. The regular band was Johnnie Johnstones Scottish Broadcasting Band. My regular partner for most Scottish waltzes was a beautiful girl called Ella Renton.
That's incredibly sweet, Mr Greenan, and please be assured that I am utterly sincere! I only wish I could have been alive back then as I am rather envious of the community activities such as dancing that were so popular then, and which have now been replaced by the telly and computer games.
+Kate0603 researching this for my music exam and I wish deep down that I had a chance to dance this dance as it pleasures me and keeps me calm. for those people alive to dance this I wish I where you
Brilliant music, I remember my mother teaching me the St. Bernard's waltz before the Oban High School dance back in 1959 or 60. I had two left feet then and haven't improved much since. Scotty (Iowa)USA
Such beautiful music, and so wonderfully danced. Am I the only one who wonders if we could reproduce this series of dancing during the 2012 games this year? I am just grateful the RSCDS will be dancing this waltz on the Queen Mary this weekend.
