I remember when it was four track and five track over Hudddersfield viaduct. So we're putting it back to how the Victorias had it right in the first place. Progress, you can't beat it. Thanks for the regular updates, it's much appreciated.
You are correct, much of this line was four track until around the 1960s and the now redundant arches of many old bridges have smoke and soot stains from years of steam locos passing beneath them. Also Standedge Tunnel still has two redundant bores.
@lordgemini2376Sadly much will not be restored. We simply don't have the money or the willpower. It does make you think though how energetic and powerful.the Victorians were at that time.
@lordgemini2376The railway network was contracting well before those two individuals came on the scene. You can tell its panto season when they blamed for all the ills of the railways!
Thanks for the upload. I often hear people crying "everything happens in the south & we get nothing in the north" but with this happening & the new line in Tyneside opened just last week, it is nice to know that this simply isn't true.
I live near, and the Viaduct and Wheatley's Bridge are part of my morning run/walk route, I like to see what progress they have made each time I go past. The Crompton trucks go back and forth along this route all day for the quarry which is further up the hill. I'd not seen one yet in the compounds until now. Thank you for posting.
Many thanks for taking the time to document the TPU in the Huddersfield area. I wonder if they’ll double the line to Brighouse 🤔 Healey mills was a great freight yard in the 70s hopefully after TPU have finished with it they can reuse it for a container base or logistics park 👍🏻
Brighouse is getting some station improvements apparently as it'll be the main hub for bus transfers to Huddersfield during the 30-day Huddersfield closures next year.
Thanks Sarah very interesting, further on at Mirfield Station you can see where the lines where taken away as part of Bridge where the station was over the road was taken away. 😎
Parallel with the TRU program is a gauge clearance program for more and larger freight wagons across the route. I've found very little published about it.

So much money and so many years will be put into undoing the damage caused by Beeching and Marples sadly

It's almost become a meme to those uninformed. Something like £13billion is being spent on the TRU project!
Great to see the progress appreciate your filming at all times of the day and night!
Thank you. After so many years of very little changing on this line, it's surreal to see such wholesale changes.
@@sarahandwills Totally agree. Things can only get better?!!
Many thanks for making and sharing these updates and vlogs it is much appreciated.
Glad you find them interesting. There's plenty to film as there are so many different worksites across the route.
Thanks!
Excellent captions, thanks.

Noticed they have started installing the pylons for carrying the electric cables near Morley and the white rose stations.

Yes they should double the Section to Brighouse.
There are no plans at all to do so

Thanks for all your informative videos
Great video and lots of details
very interesting thanks for posting

Flannels must be raking it in!!!
Can remember when the additional third track through Dewsbury seemed like a big deal.🙄
❤❤👍👍😊😊
I think there is some electrical interference with the camera. Love the film but it sometimes sounds very odd.
Sounds muffled sometimes
I'll keep an eye on that. The weather was atrocious, so it may have been a combination of the strong wind, heavy rain and the roar of passing traffic.
4 Tracks good, better for local/freight trains.
Apparently they're hoping to really step up the freight workings once it's complete.

@@andrewreynolds4949 Even better.
Flannerys
Another waste of public money, just like HS2
So what exactly do you not regard as a waste of public money?
