Oh my god, when Sverier got that natural 20 on his grapple that would have been the perfect time to just lay into the dragon. They'd have advantage on attack rolls, Cam would get sneak attack, and given the number of times it failed to recharge its breath weapon they'd have been fine on damage, especially if Elora used earth elemental form to tank its physical attacks.

Transport Via Plants doesn't create a 5-foot portal. It creates a link between Large or larger plants that ANY CREATURE can step through using 5 feet of movement.
Caer Ibormeith if it was an average party, yes. But this party I'm not entirely sure... They could bore it to death waiting for the players to determine the actions of the characters, that might work.
@@alexraynn2050 12d10 breath weapon. It's an adult dragon, ancient is 16d10. By themselves it's only a "hard" difficulty encounter, including Sverier its lowered to a medium encounter. They could easily win without even trying very hard. And even an Ancient dragon would be doable, though it would be the equivalent of two deadly encounters. But for a fully rested party with no other enemies to worry about? Well within the realm of possibility. In fact that's actually very close to what the game is balanced around for a days combat encounters.
It's sad these characters will be retired soon presumably. I would like to see the high level arcs with all the development and history among the party.
Ironclad Guildhand nah, I know, I just still kinda ship jiutou and him. But like everyone has a love interest except for jiutou?? And I think that's not fair.

BlackHangola no, of the dragon chooses to focus Reynard it's very unlikely it doesn't kill Reynard in one round. He has 15 ac and the dragon has 94 dpr and a +12 to hit. Reynard has already been injured. Kim is the next closest person to Reynard, and if she rushes to save him, she'll likely die before support reaches her. From there, the dragon can just kill Cam. If Elora plays well, with Sverier's help she can probably save the fight 70% of the time. TL;DR if Mark plays optimally it's looking really bad for the party.
Which is something they seem to forget, it's 5 vs 1, Reymond fire from afar, Jiotou pummelling its face in, Cam throwing daggers and healing, Sveriah (can't remember how to spell it) throwing rocks and Elora either elemental or burning it alive in righteous Moonbeam, a few rounds later and they are all running back to the winter spire, getting the Everseed and mass reviving the frost giants and they finish it off with a big ol helping of dragon flesh.

An adult blue dragon (which is what it is) has a CR rating of 16, they are all level 12-13 and have arguably the most overpowered class on their team. They could definitely take it, although it'd be a tough battle.
Elora; Circle of the Moon Druids are incredibly overpowered, especially at later levels. If you've seen the Critical Role Lv20 Battle Royale you'll know what I mean. Keyleth could wild shape into elementals an *unlimited* amount of times.

Ok... done some research- passive perception is lowered when a creature is naturally asleep. I believe it’s about 5. With their knowledge, they believed they were completely outmatched and stood no chance. As their characters, they don’t know about CR rating or recharge rolls or different power levels of dragons. All they know is that dragons are powerful and ancient.
Equally from an RP standpoint they literally just came off the back of killing a super powerful evil that destroyed an entire city. They have been told several times that they are among the most powerful individuals in the world. And they have a powerful friend to back them up, who they instead abandon to die. I was mad enough at them abandoning innocent civilians to die, but this really takes the cake.

Ufff, don't run.... dps is the key! Just heal the giant to tank it. Then just go all out and max dps as hard as possible. It's huge so you won't miss! Focus the head to destroy its ability to do breaths. Or you have a cleric, cast haste and run around it to avoid getting hit. Use Monster hunter game as guidance!
Zinga East with ease, no. It might have downed Cam, if it broke the grapple before it died. However, the three turns it was grappled would have been enough to kill it. Now, however, it's probably going to kill the entire party if played in a non derpy manner. The party is very split up, Cam is so low he can't help them fight the dragon, Elora and Cam are both too far away from Reynard to help him, Jiutou is the only one able to reach him within 2 turns but Reynard will be downed by the time she reaches him. She'll then die the next turn, still out of range of healing. From there, Cam gets bopped and either Elora drops the elemental form she'll be forced to take up to survive to heal him, or she doesn't and he does. Her optimal play is just earth elemental+7th level moonbeam at this point, and honestly they either have to accept Reynard's death or hope Elora doesn't fail a concentration save on the moonbeam and then she may just survive and be able to Reincarnate the 3 dead party members. They're so fucked.
Honestly I think they are dead because they didn't fight the dragon. Because think about it this way Mark said that it might change the target from the people it is chasing to the place they are going. Meaning with its fly speed it will reach them within a turn or so. Then it will destroy the tree they are trying to get to and kill everyone there.
@@Blasted2OblivionAn oft repeated fallacy. If there isn't a direct magical explanation the matter of being in a fantasy realm is irrelevant. It's a mechanics issue since they made it a rule. Definitely something I'd house rule as 500 feet seems largely inconsistent with the movement rules. Just instinctively for me it feels way too fast.

Is it just me or is mark saying "like" and "sort of" a lot more frequently recently.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE VIDEO YET!!!!: I wonder if they realize that they could most likely take the dragon on with ease.
Isn't gravity 32 feet per second? So 6 seconds would be 192 feet.
32 ft per second, per second. 6sec falling from 0, is~ 550 feet = 1/2 (32*6^2)
On earth sure. Last I checked though, earth doesn't have magic or dragons. It DOES have dungeons but I assume that is coincidence.
@@Blasted2OblivionAn oft repeated fallacy. If there isn't a direct magical explanation the matter of being in a fantasy realm is irrelevant.
It's a mechanics issue since they made it a rule. Not even close to fact checked for any degree of accuracy but then there is a lot of legacy stuff that's fairly bad as well.
Definitely something I'd house rule as 500 feet seems largely inconsistent with the movement rules. Just instinctively for me it feels way too fast.
Greybelgians?
Save sferier(my best try) YOU COWARDS !
Ah the frustrating joys of having a majority party who's new and doesn't understand challenge ratings
WHY.....HOWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! :'(
Damn Mark! You look super fetch in that hoodie. No homo.

Where the fuck are the timestamps
100% should of fought it
Two years later, Mr. Funatparties appears.
It is "should have" not "should of".
@@Blasted2Oblivion The English language is a sizzling hot mess, why people try to defend it's grammar is a mystery to me.
