Beverly walks us through the foam and fabric construction of this costume and how it captures the intention of the film's costume designers. This is the kind of cosplay that I aspire to - as a 40 year old guy you always get strange looks saying you make costumes as a hobby. I'm two years into researching an Assassin's Creed costume very casually trying to strike that balance between historical authenticity and game accuracy. It's a labour of love and a lot of learning, congratulations on such a great result 👍

Dunes costumes are stunning. There's at least a dozen amazing costumes in that movie worth recreating.
The Spacing Guild costumes are super cool! Saw some guy on Twitter making it and it looks incredible!

Y'know, I realized something.
I think this is the first time I've seen a camera pan down a woman's body in a way not designed to be sexualized and male-gazey but to genuinely focus on the detail of the clothes she's wearing. It focused on her shoulder piece, not her breast; on her leg armor, not her thigh; her abdomen, not her groin. Even when it drew attention to the detailing of her hip plate and codpiece, it focused close enough that you couldn't tell what you were looking at.

I’m not at all into Cos Play but I found this video fascinating and Beverly captivating. I am endlessly interested in learning new things, especially things that I myself will never do. That’s why I love this channel.

I made a run of Dune 2021stillsuit parts on the RPF and just the research to make those took months .
Those suits are actually incredibly complex with the overlap and layering and actually built to be comfortable and with being able to run , jump and fight with in mind.
The costume designers knocked it out of the park.
Also the shoes used appear to be using Reebok soles or some very similar soles but were custom made the closest match are Japanese canvas boots made by a company called Fugu.
Do you still make them or sell the patterns?

I've visited Niger, which is basically mostly desert. In retrospect, it made no sense for the Fremen in David Lynch's "Dune" to have zero head covering for the sun. That would be insane to expose one's head to the sun.

I feel a little weird checking out her body like that, but all that detailed work needs to be studied. Honestly, this is awesome work and you can really feel the working hours looking at it, especially if you've ever attempted a full body thing

I am a Zookeeper in Atlanta and I regularly feed the Hippos day old Sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the Hippos they get so Mad at me and Scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and Break out of their Cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in Wide Circles over their heads. Luckily my Boss doesn't know I do this or my Coworkers haha 😆
