    I bought the 3 frame hand crank Vevor and I am very pleased with it.

      Will your unit hold medium and deep frames?

    Good on you Jason. It's always great to have a review to help people out while they deal with budgets.
    By the way we put cross-bracing that hand crank model. Cross welded rebar set up with a space for bucket to fit under. Introduce the wobble by about 90%. Those darn legs are just too light of a gauge to start with.
    Hope the cattle are doing well!

      I thought maybe a cross brace would help, glad you have confirmed.
      The cows are doing well, getting fat for winter. 😊

      @@jimjohnson2881 Yes! I have a video in the works showing how we came up with the brace design. In the mean time look at the leg bracings that Lyson uses. The trick is to leave room for the bucket.

    It is always prudent to test so called stainless steel with a magnet, it is easy to replace real stainless with something cheaper and likely to corrode, and fatigue. The Chinese stuff is known for this their so called stainless spinners are magnetic everywhere except the barrel.

    Have the electric extractor, take the 4 nuts on top off and the motor and basket come out for very easy cleaning when you are finished.

      Keep in mind that the country that makes this has oppressed it citizens and they have no rights. But you turn your back on the human rights as long as you get a deal. FYI. Someday it will catch up with everyone

    I have a hand cranked 3 framers but it fit 6 honey frames because of the size difference. But not with Langstroth frames because they are bigger then those "standard" we using in the Netherland. It worked well when I had a few hives but will upgrade to a bigger and with a engine. Takes away times you need to spend on uncapping frames between each time they ends up inside the extractor if you do it alone. Great video you did. But wish you could tell about the price difference between those 2.

    Great extractors, both seem good, I have a hand crank, I think it's only 2 frame, only have the one hive so far a worked great, just time consuming if you have more than one or 2 hives, but spins great,
    Easy cleanup because no electrical parts to worry about.
    Great comparison video.

  • @martenapperloo1055

    I think they could put better stronger legs on the extractors, because you do get wiggel movement which will eventually cause damage to the legs and possibly break the weld or cause the legs to twist.

    • @JCsBees
      @JCsBees  Рік тому

      I think a bracket between the legs would help a lot. Someone need to design something for that.

    Only downfall of the the electric version is you better have the frames weight distribution pretty close at least with the 4 frame manual you can fill it shimmy when you first spool it up

    • @MinnesotaBeekeeper
      @MinnesotaBeekeeper Рік тому +1

      Not that big of a deal. Balance the load when you put the frames in and start at the lowest RPM. Whether it's our electric or hand-crank it's always the same.
      Balance and start slow.

    • @justarel

      I've done just that by making an adapter that holds a one way clutch bearing that slides onto the shaft where the crank mounts, got it from a vid here on youtube.

    • @MinnesotaBeekeeper
      @MinnesotaBeekeeper Рік тому +1

      Honestly Ben I thought about doing that but then I went out and bought a 20 frame Lyson. I'm sure you can do it it would just be awkward hanging onto the drill.

    Everyone should have one hand crank on-hand, appropriately sized based on the number of colonies when shtf.

    New 72 year old beek here. Does any one know if they make a hand extractor for deep frames? I am using Langstroth frames in a horizontal hive and it was a little difficult using medium dranes for my super section.

    • @MinnesotaBeekeeper
      @MinnesotaBeekeeper Рік тому +1

      Roy read the descriptions on any extractor. Most will let you do mediums and deeps. Fewer deep frames will fit but more often than not they will.
