i've been able to get a few tables running, (atgames pinball) but i cannot seem to figure out how to use my fulldmd i added. I know not all tables HAVE fulldmd, but say i want the stranger things videos to go to my fullDMD and to have a backglass. How would i do that? Adding the BG and full dmd in popper doesn't work. The 2 screen mode works by default with the pup, but i'm really struggling to understand how to use my fulldmd.
Hello Terry. Ty for this tutorial. I was wondering, whats the best size of speakers for the cabinet backglass? I'm buying everything I need before building the williams widebody cabinet. Ty.
Question. Baby Pacman for example. How do I get this to display the Mame rom on the backboard for the table?? The same question for the scores on other tables. They are not being displayed. Just using 1 monitor. What option am I looking for in this ocean of options....?
Appreciate the video. Unfortunately, I got stuck registering for vpuniverse. Can't register an account no matter what I try, wondering if it might be ok to skip this step. A little googling reveals this is a common problem. My only gripe with what I've seen so far of the virtual pinball world is how spread out the community is. Edit: went back a while later and the server issues seem to be fixed. Back on track!
Thanks TerryRed, I followed everything step and downloaded two tables. I get the same issue on both playfield. Flippers not working and no ball. The plunger and tilt are working. Seems like visual pinball can't locate the Roms. I downloaded the right roms for those tables and they are in the folder ''roms''. Any idea what could be wrong? Big thanks for this video, it got me that far and that is pretty cool already.
How do you resize the backglass image? I'm only using a single screen which is my computer and the Spider-Man table I'm using I want to have the Black-Suited backglass but it takes up almost my entire screen!
This would of been great a year ago. But since the web site wiki has changed right the initial install and then falls apart. And I'm not smart enough to piece the updates or after words . And while I'm at it, what happened to the second installment, where to get the pinball games I guess? You did a great job, but
I'm very new to this I'm little confused how can i tell what DMD do i have I'm using a 3 screen setup and my DMD is a LCD 7" screen . if you wonder why my DMD is so small i have a atgames legends pinball machine
Thanks a lot for all the hardwork. Do you know whether I can install on my test comp vp 10 ans then copy the folders into my pinbab which has no internet connexion ? Mandy thanks
Best to NOT do that...as parts of the software you would need to install make registrations to the PC's registry, and other factors that can make things messy. I recommend following this guide for a fresh install on a cabinet (that has all windows updates FIRST)... then you can easily copy over your table files, directb2s files and the other table related files (ultraDMD folders, etc) AFTER that. If using dmdext for your DMd and scores for example....if save you time by not needing to setup the DMD for each table. I'll be doing a VPX video next most likely.
hi i am following you videos i set every thing up as you did in this 1st video and the kiss and acdc table showed up on both my monitors i now have nvapi.dll error windows 10 so i now have multiple tables showing up on one screen please help,
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I have a 2 screen mid sized table thats been gathering dust because I can't seem to get it running the way I want. Any suggestions (or maybe I missed it or it's in another) for setting up 2nd screen to be backglass and dmd at the same time? Sorry if I missed it. It seemed to talk about full backglass or desktop modes. Again. A million times. Thank you!
The best option is to use a 3rd screen or real DMd. Trying to fir so much on a 16:9 screen just isn't the best solution. As you have seen it's a pint to get the DMd windows to stay on top. If you update B2S Server linked in the video and the pup install wiki....that will try to send B2S server to the bottom, which may help the DMd window stay on top.
Greetings TerryRed! Maybe I missed it, but assuming we are successful with the initial installation stages of the software essentials, what games would actually run on this? Doing some research for a DIY cabinet.
Just an oversite (and lack of sleep)....but wont hurt anything if you don't have one. It just gets ignored if you don't have the hardware. I say to disable i as a good habit for your own setup just in case...and so people will know the difference of what they are looking at.

Are the screen layouts in this video still valid if you are also setting up Future Pinball? On some of your older videos (3 years+) you used a different layout where you "extended" the second monitor onto the 3rd monitor. I have VPX using the monitor locations in the video, but don't want to have to switch everything to run both VPX and Future Pinball.
Been watching your videos for several months i have most the pup tables working a couple of tables i have to click on the playfield with mouse to start the table any sugestions Masters of Universe and XMen and i beleive one other

never mind, i just reinstalled vpinball and chose the option. doing that allowed for my desktop dmd to work but after applying the beta update the dmd didnt work anymore, so i'll have to figure that out
@@TerryRed cool thanks for that warning. i have 10.6 installed but after following the instruction to update to beta (rev3788) the dmd disappeared and i'm too newbie to know how to get it back lol

@@TerryRed i've got the dmd back. .. actually had it disabled in the B2S setting somehow. all i had to do to get it back was right click on the B2S provided backglass (after alt+tab to get over to that backglass) and theres the Setting for DMD and i set to Standard. (incase that helps anyone else)
@@MrJaz8088 I would still install everything like in this video. It will save you headaches down the line just in case. Also, DOF doesn't "run in the background". It runs only when its needed, so it doesnt hurt having it installed.
The vast majority agree Windows 10 is better if you are starting from scratch. If you already have a setup working with Win 7.... no need to switch if it's working fine. I've used Win 10 for years on my cabinet allowing all updates. No problems yet.
I am trying to be on your level with everything but I have two important questions. I need to get rocket launcher to work with pinball x for Windows PC games but I don't know what exacutable, parameters etc... To put to make them communicate. I sat up pinball x in rocket launcher and can launch games from the rockect launcher ui also in the rocket launcher folder in databases I have a PC games folder which has a xml document where I properly added in my games. I did everything I could do and I know I am so close I just need that last bit of info to get me going....ohh and yes pinball x is both set as active and default front end Edit: any info would be appreciated since I have been trying this for several days now and I am going nuts trying to figure this all out. I did find a work around thought but I still want to run them through rocket launcher. So here is my work around if u or anyone is interested. I just used other systems as separate games entirely. I have about four pinball x in total so since you can only have ten other systems I use 3 of them to play all the Tate games I have. Each pinball x is a list of ten games and one pinball x is for make all together. One good thing about this is that it doesn't over clutter the main pinball menu and slow it down. The bad side is that u can have to navigate to find then so I put them in the beginning of the alphabet using number so the are before any pinball table. Also I know this has nothing to do with the video but I know u are the man that can help me. U are a guru and I am a hard-worker in need of help.I work on this a total of 20+ hours a week and will have a cab that will make even u be in aww. I will achieve all that u have accomplished.
I used to have PBX working with RL and PC Games years ago... but eventually it stopped working. It was a royal PAIN to get that working...and a lot of work. I myself couldn't remember how I got it working in the first place. Ever since I moved to using Popper for a front-end I never looked back....and it was easier to get PC Games work with it... but I only ever setup a few PC Games so far. Too busy. Sorry I can't help you out with this one. If the guys at the PBX forums can't help....then I don't know who else could.
@@TerryRed well thanks anyways if u or nobody else knows then I will just use my work around. I hate rocket launch so much but I know it's really useful. Anyways I put to much work into pinball x to move on to a different frontend. Well off to work on this stuff some more. Thanks for all u do and inspiring me to push to new heights.
Just got up to "Upgrading PinUP System to use the new FreezyDLL v1.7.1 (DMDExt 1.7.1)". Followed the link to github and found release 1.8. Your wiki says to use 1.7.1 as 1.7.2 has issues, however now 1.8 is available. Do you recommend going straight to 1.8 and ignore the 1.7.x releases?
Yes you can do that. I haven't been able to test 1.8 much (recovering from kidney stone), but reports have been good so far. We normally don't change the wiki until we are sure the update doesn't have major issues.
I'm out can't even sign up for vpunivese ... You guys need someone to make easier i don't need to sign up in 9 different sites . I will stick to the real thing.

Is this still valid for 02/2023?
If i have No Plans in running any Toys/ Lights on a Mini 2 Screen build, do i need DOF Installed ?
Sounds like i need it for FP & PuP Packs "Only" ?
@@MrJaz8088 I would still install everything like in this video. It will save you headaches down the line just in case. Also, DOF doesn't "run in the background". It runs only when its needed, so it doesnt hurt having it installed.
@@TerryRed Thanks Terry, DOF it is then, cheers
For a cabinet version, are you recommending windows 7 or windows 10 ? May be Windows 10 have some issue with drivers, or the reverse ?
The vast majority agree Windows 10 is better if you are starting from scratch. If you already have a setup working with Win 7.... no need to switch if it's working fine. I've used Win 10 for years on my cabinet allowing all updates. No problems yet.
@@TerryRed nothing yet, gataering info, softwares, devices and other hardware. The boring beginning.
I did everything I could do and I know I am so close I just need that last bit of info to get me going....ohh and yes pinball x is both set as active and default front end
Edit: any info would be appreciated since I have been trying this for several days now and I am going nuts trying to figure this all out.
