Death Stranding Offline vs Online

SPOILER WARNING! (Just in case!) There should be nothing here, but it is endgame footage, so it could be possible to spot something that could spoil something. You've been warned!
I played through the whole thing offline -- built roads, zip-lines and even got some trophies. But some of the trophies can't be done without "logging in". Here's a comparison of some of the differences after going to "online mode".
I assume it takes into account that I'm already very far ahead in the game, and that's why the world is full of bridges, rechargers and sign posts now. I'm sure it's not like this at the start (even if you started online, that is)!
My favorite part of this game is making safe routes, and seeing that other people have used my routed. I can't explain how satisfying that is.
In a game about reconnecting a nation. Helping others and getting bit of help yourself makes you feel like you are actually succeeding in rebuilding what was lost.
The Single player game that makes us feel that we aren't alone.
I honestly enjoyed giving 300 likes to a single lad because of that random ladder he placed on the map.
Too bad I play offline mode and I just finished the game. In chapter 15 now but looks like this chapter takes so long
They should make DS2 have lobby areas like in Destiny, where porters can mingle before heading out on solo jobs. Or co-op deliveries!
@@IkeandMike1 even better let me select a karma path and become a mule! and even even better let me invade other player's worlds, and even even even better ditch our guns for swords and shields!
@@alexlun4464 better if you took your meds. Best would be if you learned how to interact with others, even online!
I completed the game offline on my first playthrough. And now I feel I'm something of a survivalist myself.
Well the help that other players give you is invaluable but to do it offline has to be a serious kudos, because in some areas it's damned annoyingly hard to avoid BTs and MULEs without some help from other players, not impossible of course but a pain in the arse.
The bola gun though is a godsend. Quite frankly unwinnable without it in the harder BT/Boss fights and in heavily infested MULE areas. Try playing it on the hardest level offline if you can do that IMHO you are practically a god of Death Stranding. j/k
Assuming you survive without making endless reloads that is, sorry about the multiple posts I was multi-tasking. :(
Playing online and helping others out is a huge part of what makes this game fun
@@danieldevito6380 i like helping People. But i dont want any help, so i disabled the help, i still online, people can use my things, but no one can help me.
Horror game to building simulator to fps to sight seeing leisure game. In exact that order.
In that exact order.*
Building simulator 😒 are you kidding? Everything in this game builds itself. Horror? Somewhat tense gameplay is horror now, wow. And uhh how can a third person game be a first person shooter?
In my walkthrough I built most of the roads (~90%), there were some useful stations and bridges built by other players but I also added a lot to the world. It warms your heart when you see tons of likes on your structures or that someone used your stuff)
Nvm, as i see DS community is very helpful and friendly. Ty to all fellow porters who help me in road building, and anchor upgrades :)
Yes when I started I got alot of materials now I'm helping back by building more stuff and giving materials
Autism
I love the people in this game. Especially the ones who go all the way back to the beginning and make it easier for new players. Like I think my first online playthrough i zip lined all the way to the incinerator.
Damn, never saw that Zipline
Skipping through the best part of the game sounds horrible.
@@HoopleBogart yeah I went back in my second playthrough offline and did everything myself. The game feels better like it was meant to be played that way.
death stranding "nightmare" mode.
I often question the online mode, "Are we receiving player generated construction or AI & Name generated construction," I have been building roads and it seems if I don't complete the remaining materials, the road would never get completed. Regardless, whether it's player or AI generated structures, I am still thankful for well placed bridges, safe houses, and other PCC 1-2 structures.
in my 10 days of playing only 1 road has completed itself with the online function
in my experience it can happen, it's just exceedingly rare
If is IA, why the IA not finish some roads?
From my experience, it's players. The closer I got to the end, the more I started seeing jump platforms, shelters and zip-lines, and the less I saw of road contributions. There were a lot more structures in the start, but they were mostly badly positioned, in the end there were way less, but most of them were better positioned/optimized per say. Both things lead me to believe it's players, since not all of them reach the end and those who do tend to be more "experienced", therefore leaving better builds behind.
I'm not sure but it felt like there was either some hidden cap or something but most of the road segments had their materials filled to 50% so I just donated my part and finished the road in couple of hours
@@AlienatedBronze yes, same thing for my playthrough.
I played solo. Painstakingly installed ziplines on top of so many mountains and tough to reach places. Connected so many areas. Most satisfying feeling ever!
I see you too are a mountain zipline highway enthusiast
It really is extremely satisfying to finish making an area accessable
So did I. I ziplined all the places on the mountain and down to the farm. If not for the limit, I wouldve ziplined the whole map.
idk I get the whole wanting a challenge but me personally I'm gonna keep it online, the game is about connecting people after all but to each their own!
Unironically, this game show idea of industrial communism: unity of professionals (even just porters) is strong power
@@TheM9lta no
One of the most polarizing game. But to me, I'd say it's genius. I've never played anything like it before. It also has moments of calm and passivity (driving, building, etc), challenge (terrain scouting, etc.), thrill (fighting or escaping BTs, Terrorists, Mules).
I understand why many people would find it boring. Specially those who play game just for the gameplay and exhilirating action like ARPGs or Souls-like) . No care about the world-building or philosophy behind something, just straight-up entertainment. But for those who play and see games as a form of art and value every aspects of it like the gameplay, music, lore, story, and the philosophy of certain aspects of it etc. Then such people would like it.
Couldn’t said it any better myself bro
souls games are definitely not just mindless action, honestly souls games appeal to me for a very similar reason that death stranding does, at least the actual souls games from from soft. ive never played any soulslikes. the worlds of those games suck you in, althougn elden ring is probably the best iteration
@@Otocol I don’t think he said that souls games are mindless bro
This game does a fantastic job of showing off how a community can make life so much easier. Kojima's always been one of those artsy fartsy dudes who wants his games to feel like more than just a game, and I think this was his most effective piece in that regard. It's weird to me that people don't have fun with this game because they didn't die every ten seconds on the highest difficulty, or whatever. It's a fun game that makes you feel like an effective member of a community, where quality of life gets better as you contribute more to something greater. Both offline and online play are valid, I just think that people get scared to face up to the message this game tries to get across: Everything can be better if you connect with your community.
I played through the game for the first time in offline mode. It was really enjoyable having such a challenge and open uncluttered world. Though even in offline mode the only thing I found myself building were generators for my bike. You really only need one ladder and a rope for most deliveries.
I played through my first time in offline... And did all deliveries by walking only.... Never built any roads or anything at all
@@businessgamerprb5398 i did the same an honestly its the BEST way to experience the game.
@@sleeplessguardian exactly... The fun is when you gotta pass BT areas by foot.... Building roads around it or flying on ziplines above it isn't fun... Also I was on max capacity every time trying to deliver other things to the same destination so my journey was even more complicated with all those weights...
Played the game multiple times in the hardest difficulty. Things vary so sometimes not being prepared will screw you. Don't take this person's advice unless you have your route preplanned and you've taken it before.
Just finished the game, and playing of offline makes no sense to me. I can't count the many times a structure left by another player helped me in my journey.
Can confirm the world was pretty barren until the game had been up for a week or so then things started to fill in fairly quickly. The only thing you can’t see after you’ve gotten out of the starter area is ziplines. Makes me a bit sad but I look forward to more zippy chaos again soon. Absolutely did not spend hours and hours riding around the map on ziplines 👀
That's not true, in general you won't see almost any buildings that you don't already have the ability to build. And there are a lot. (If you're not playing the Director's Cut, WHY NOT? You need to.)
I played offline without building anything, it was a different experience.
yeah, online mode is so simple, you can't feel a hard way
Yea ima go play offline now. After spending a lot of time online it got super easy and boring. Deliveries in the beginning was so hard and fun but woth the roads and bridges it feels so boring now lol. Thx for this vid
the hard bit is contributing to the online experience. not just leaching off someone elses road
@@G-G._ But that's not really "hard" to do because you don't need to contribute. Contributing can be time consuming and a fulfilling experience but it's not hard because even without it you can just do your missions on easy mode due to all the stuff others built.

this game is worth to be bought, believe me
As a person who started online there’s was like maybe 2 roads built but know I’ve built like half of all roads I’m carrying everyone on my back
Not really, obviously there have already been a collective trillion resources already spent by players, probably millions just in the last month. Each person's game decides how many resources to give from "other porters" -- for example a couple of "early" roads will be fully built as soon as you add Engineer/Craftsman to the network. The others will have 0 progress until you add the area to the network first, whereupon you will find that about 75% of the resources will already be provided and the game will leave the last 25% for you to complete. And whenever a piece of the road gets down to like 35%, magically a whole bunch of people will "contribute resources" and restore it back to 100%.
Maybe its just you, i cant even gather enough materials quickly to finish a road myself before someone else builds it for me
I find it kind of funny that Kojima made this game with the message of connecting people, not just through the theme of the story but the way players help one another via the online component of sharing vehicles, equipment, and cargo. And, despite all of that, some people still prefer playing offline without the player to player interactions. Play how you want, I'm not complaining. I just think it's funny.
Yeah all the marketing about cooperation and stuff almost made me not buy it, but luckily it turned out to be optional ;-)
it actually kinda raises some deep philosophical questions as to why some people are excited to get connected while others prefer isolation
I would play online but its too easy and the game is too easy in general so yeah..
MUST BE NICE you guys are welcome that we all did the hard work for you
🤓
Lol yeah i guess that’s why it took barely 30 hours for me to beat the game. Bridges, roads almost everything i had to use for transportation were already there.
playing this game on launch day was so good as not much had been built yet
you dont get it all to start dont worry it starts empty and you get access to player made stuff later
Holy sht. I was in love with playing offline this whole time.. but now seeing the bike that I haven't gotten yet.. and the zipline.. oh am I going to be putting in some fun hours on this game. 😁👏👏 Thanks for the video
I‘m just concerned what happens if the community was shut down when it becomes a very old game
Same here. I know it might be a little game breaking but they should allow your constructions to not break over time in offline mode.
@@silentsmokeNIN Maybe make structures have 500% or 1000% timefall resistance on max level when the servers close.
If you’re a a person just seeing this video and who’s a noob on the game. Just play the damn thing however you like, but I’d recommend go with Kojima’s vision as is intended. This whole damn game is about connections, travel and helping others - playing offline completely defeats the point. You’ll do yourself a a great disservice playing this totally solo and remove touching moments for no valid reason at all. (At least as a first run). It’s balanced very well as is. This isn’t some hardcore nature-survival type experience. Don’t force it to be.
I played about 240h online in hard mode. I appreciate kojima's Idea being connected with other player's. It felt fresh but i missed the emptiness of the world a bit. And it was way to easy and not really as challenging as i wished.
I'm looking forward to the director's cut, starting a new game... offline...in very hard mode.
The game was made to be played online. You say its too easy?
Thats the idea, helping your fellow American trek across the us!
To just disregard the work of your brothers and sisters and isolate is unhealthy.
i like this to be offline on first run then after you finish the game you can unlock the online new game mode. that way i can feel the apocalyptic feeling that sam is the only porter that changes the world. hehehe..
This game is better offline, more immersive.
I played the play game offline once the release came out. After I did so much walking around I started making roads, once you make roads you can start driving your bike and trucks on the roads you've made. I say that's very impressive. Also when you make your own bridges where you really need them and begin making the cement roads across the map you can see all the progress you've made. It started to look like America again lol.
@@adamjawbone3807 Entonces jugarlo offline no arruina la experiencia??...pregunto por que todavia no lo jugue
Yeah and you actually have to use you brain
@@francoortellado288 no para nada, lo estoy jugando y solo toma mas tiempo
Do you have more chiral bandwidth offline to make up for not having other people's things to use? Even after maxing it out, I barely had enough bandwidth playing it online to make zip line trails everywhere and I used a ton of other people's zip lines. I imagine it's not possible to do this offline
I like the idea of not seeing 'speed up' signs at the bottom of every distro centre ramp and 25 'likers get liked' in the middle of the road...
Edit; I think we share a server? That bridge to the engineer is in the exact same place as one in my game.
EXACT same place.
I wasent sure about this game but I'm gonna pick it up. It definitely looks unique as opposed to most the stuff out there.
did you like it? im interested in this game too
@@tildo2001 its out there and weird but really unique and i love it a lot, but its pricey
Its very unique, it gives a lonely feeling but it’s canceled out by the joy of you delivering stuff in perfect condition and in good time.
Lol why would someone use resources to build a base right outside a distribution center? I've never even built one in the whole game other than the one they make you build..
Having just finished Chapter 4, I've only seen the Central and East Regions, where it seems quite common to build close to distribution centres rather than in the middle of nowhere. Safe houses built close to or between prepper shelters, however, are really helpful.
@Jovan Sahota the distro IS a safehouse... also they're only a few minute drive from each other. And the preppers become rest areas and item fabrication when you get them on the network and get all 5 stars with them.
I also bet it had a LOAD of likes lol, I've seen bridges placed in the most stupid of places & still get 60k likes, not only did the owner place it in a stupid place but also a load of people liked it haha.
@HDGaming that means they used it... wtf... if it's in a dumb spot why are people using it 🤔
@@thothheartmaat2833 most of the time it's in a spot where you have to use it because it's in the way, but it's not actually helpful to overcome anything (if you put a bridge in a place where everyone walks, they're not going to avoid the bridge on purpose). and since the game makes you like something automatically when you use it, then unfortunately that's a way to get easy likes
If you're a person just seeing this video and who's a noob on the game. Just listen to Callum, because it's worth playing offline the whole way through for first time. It's not about connecting with other player's to be honest. It's more about feel connected with all the NPC inside the game.
Everytime you go to a shelter, you feel like entering a sanctuary, when you meet another Porter in the open, you'll definitely feel excited and secure. Not until Kojima make Death stranding a full blown multiplayer like Journey, where you can traverse the terrain together, now that would complete the game motives.
I disagree strongly you literally make the game more boring playing offline
While i respect your decision to play offline I cant agree with it myself, BUT that would've been so much more cool if this was co-op/online. Exploring with a couple buddies or maybe even a stranger would have been way more fun.
I think that playing online is the way to go, mainly because you feel like you're connecting people when you connect another base. When you first get there is just you, but when you connect lots of stuff appear. It made me feel like I was actually connecting people, because I saw the difference it made in my playthrough.
I just beat this after 52 hours or so. I played it offline. I didn't even know it was geared towards online play till later on. I hardly ever even used a ladder or rope the whole game let alone anything else. I truly enjoyed the hard trek through the environment but I always prepared for the worst and it payed off. I understand Kojima's vision of the game with the connection and all but I felt that the whole experience with every delivery and after all it's Sam's story. I loved each part the blizzards the wind, terrain the timefall and the Battle with the BTs was so unique and memorable. And my favorite parts were with Cliff,he was a kick ass character. But I say, play how you want, the options are there, have fun and enjoy a truly unique game and story one of the best to date!
must be nerve-wracking to stand at a spot, assessing which way you will take to go up or down, if you can scale a landscape safely or if a slope is too steep. to be stranded in rain while you observe the routes of BT and watch as your containers get damaged. i love it too, that no matter how much i plan for a delivery, things can still go wrong
I definitely agree offline mode was a blast for a first time player like me. I found myself using the rope a fair bit to scale down though I only built 5-6 ladders.
It was an amazing experience for sure and it really helped me through a very difficult time. My dog died only a couple weeks before I played through. She was almost 20 years old and I was going through a horrible time, terrible. Some parts really got to me and really did help bring peace. Even still, some songs from the soundtrack still can bring a tear. An amazing game and experience overall and probably the most memorable I can recollect. So after all,we all did connect,in some way even if it wasn't in game. Let's all extend a ladder, for each other.
The one thing I did notice when playing online was that structures are based off of game progression (chapters) and your chiral connection
I played the game fully offline and I had such a great fuckin time. I think the online system kinda spoils the game a bit. All the bridges, all the postboxes, all the roads I made on my own. As an introvert myself, I relate to this game
Yeah but in offline the world feels so empty without all the structures other players build and no signs
@@eugeemz6591 That is what it is suppose to be imo. It's not meant to be an open world game like others where you can explore everywhere and look for interesting stuff. If you're a person just seeing this video and who's a noob on the game. I've put easily 150+ hours into this game on both PS4+PS5 combined. I highly recommend playing the game in offline mode the first time around. Kojima wants you to have the experience of connecting you with other players but it reduces the creativity of the nuts and bolts of the game which is that you're traversing a variety of different environments. When you're connected to everyone else, you will have stuff already placed in convenient spots by other players and it doesn't give you the chance to discover the opportunity of doing it yourself. If you truly want a great experience with this game, play it on hard, offline mode. If you want to feel connected and have a smooth ride through the story, play it on very easy. Just know what you're getting into with those two options.
Online was like playing Subnautica but there are bases and tools everywhere already.
Had my first playthough with everyone else online, its time for very hard mode, no roads or ziplines or anyone elses stuff.

Yea I have no idea what I’m looking at course I’ve never played it either so
online mode means you can see and use things other players have built, as well as having other players contribute materials to build roads, like the one you see the poster driving on. offline mode takes all of that away, and you have to provide all the materials to build roads yourself which is insanely hard and time consuming. building roads is already hard in online mode
I’m about 3/4 of the way through the game and want to start over offline and without cars/roads. I built all the roads and stuff in this playthrough and just find myself driving or zooming around instead of adventuring. It takes the soul out of the game.
The ending better be worth for all this effort. im going to go offline
was it worth it?
Am I the only one who would like to see Death Stranding 2 in co-op mode so you can play with 1-4 friends plus having this online world active as it was in the first game? That would make the game so much more enjoyable than even the boss fights would feel much more interesting, and to be able to split tasks between your friends, attack bases in multiple ways, and plan complete strategies would be insane!
That simply was not the point, the point was that even for people who play games in isolation and feel stranded from society, we are not really alone and our individual lives can be connected in small ways. There's a literal million more traditional multiplayer games out there.
@@fashnek I get the point, I am just saying that because of that point many people didn't really enjoy the game because it felt so empty, and lonely. Since you can't really see other players or interact with them. Plus adding the option in setting to enable the co-op can be like added setting it doesn't need to ruin the game experience for those that want to play the game as intended. But for me these big open world AAA games would all feel much more alive if you could play them with friends. Because let's be honest if you can have a generic/bot companion that are most of the time useless and just a hindrance to your playstyle. It's possible to add a co-op friend. Like Far Cry games did or Tom Clancy Ghost Recon games.
@@krisproaffiliate I thought seeing other peoples' structures and signposts and seeing who was affected by mine was a very nice implementation of the online feature.
I played it on offline cus of annoying age restrictions (im 17) still have to wait 2 months to play it online

Offline hard mode is the best way to play this game
🗿💔🙂is that a joke
@@ronsaa9760 y
@@iNz4N3N3rVeZ that's not how it was intended lmao. By playing in offline mode you forgo the theme of the game: connecting.
@@fiftyfive1s410 Curbing your enjoyment in order to experience the game 'as intended' is kind of a stupid justification. If something is impeding the satisfaction you gain by playing, it's well within your prerogative to choose to alter that. If you want to talk about 'connecting', disparaging someone based on elitist principles of how things should be experienced does nothing to 'connect' anyone, only alienates. Goes for both sides, neither offline nor online are objectively 'the right way' to play.
@@donjuan2001 but he didn't say it's the right way, just like he said "offline is the best way" doesn't mean right way.
It was cool hearing an incentive like "Keep on keeping on!" for the first couple times... but now it's just plain stupidly annoying hearing that 1000x times everytime you arrive/depart from a delivery station. Not to mention how easy the game gets when everyhting suddenly appears already constructed for you when you connect the chiral network. Fuck this, I'm starting a nee game tomorrow even if I have to waste my 20 hours of playtime I already have.
Handy to have a few zilpline in those mountains once you get to Heartman though.
But the signs; God damn the signs.
'Speed up' on the corner or roads and 'likers get liked" everywhere you go.
Will not miss them.
@@vinigarr801 I just got to the evo devo woman and I shit you not, I built a whole network of ziplines on the mountains all by myself, with about 3k bandwidth to spare. 100% offline hard mode. Yeah, I'm kind of a masochist, but the sense of accomplishment is pretty great!
@@pedrocarvalho5567 oh yeh im. The same - jus about to set off the evo-devo now. There were no zips from heartman's at all, shredded 2 pack covers, 2 skeletons and about 3 pairs of boots setting it all up.
I also enjoyed building pretty much every road in the game; raiding mules for resources - finding out the truck can hold 8 bodies was a touch.
@@vinigarr801 lol I never thought about killing those fucking terrorists, but now that I know this, I think I might just give it a try. They really piss me off, would be good to blow them up for a change. And yeah it feels so good to travel around your own ziplines after all the hard work of the first few deliveries on foot! I only built route 23 though, still working on route 41 but I don't know if I'll ever complete it, it's just too much of a grind for materials lol
Get the roads built up to the incinerator west of Mountain Knot from the engineer (BT territory) then go to work on the mule camps.
I tell you, its is sooooo satisfying jus dropping them like flies.
The terrorist guys will put up a fight, but they also don't seem to have the resource for roads that the actual mules have.
So hit up the actual mules for materials. I also checked the share lockers at distro and pepper stations for materials - but obviously you can't do that.
As for chiral crystals; rinse them from distro and preppers.
I haven't gotten very far and put the game down for a year or so left at like maybe 20 on one of the xp trees came back and it shot up to like 140 😂
My only wish would be if you played offline everything you put down didn't deteriorate over time only then offline would be perfect for me
It disappears in offline?
@@merlinmelon All things decay "due to timefall" as an essential game mechanic.
Well thats dumb so if i come weeks later it'll be all gone
It only deteriorates while you’re playing. If you put the game away, nothing will change until you play again.
gotta admit, I pirate this game on PC because I'm not sure im gonna like it at first, but I really like the game, spend almost hundred of hours playing it, now I'm saving money to but the directors cut and play it again with online benefits.
I just hope they will have an co-op mode like they do in SOULSBORNE game, where you can play with 1 random player anywhere in the world and do some shit together, and fight BTs

Online
The game forces you to play online if you want to make timely progress by limiting the amount of things you can place/build yourself. I often had to delete things people put up just so i could put up something in a better place. If the game wasn't so limiting it would be a lot more fun and less grindy.
Its just not meant to be played offline
The idea is to incentivize taking part in cooperative play to get what you need from other people.
just bought this game about a week, played it offline, after watching this just realise you can build a road and zipline, is it the one with 'upgrade structure' feature? i didnt build anything due to need alot of material, now even pcc lvl 2 other than building generator to recharge stolen mule vehicle, thats it
How you finding it? I've stretched my first playthrough into 80 hours and am jus getting close to Edge knot.
Considering offline on normal (currently online, hard) difficulty afterwards.
I played online on very hard and managed to strech my playthrough to 109 hours. I built 80% of all the roads and completed the map with them. It's not that demanding at all, 2.4k metals and 2.4k ceramics sounds like a lot but a single truck can carry enough material for 3 or more road segments. There also a lot of unconnected zip lines that I never used. But they were a lot.
@@renato360a i was gunna say he wont make it if he thinks that its a lot of materials...
Is the online mode always with random ppl? Or we can make our own server for multiplayer with friends?
Always random, the process to link intentionally with a friend is made very hard.
it’s not really multiplayer, its just you can see the other objects that other people place and such
@@okcontent149 how to place our objects or structure in the game?
recently found the game, downloaded it, started playing on hard difficulty right off the bat and i’ve gotten up to like my 7th delivery or something and haven’t died yet. was picking hard still the right choice? i see people talking about it in the comments saying they were on easy and it was still really hard and i also have offline mode on.
i have been hooked as hell after playing that corpse disposal mission with the explosion
The difficulty only affects enemy encounters, and not gameplay mechanics revolving around deliveries.
@@guillaumepaquet5116 im pretty sure that hard difficulty makes the timefall rain more damageable to your cargo
The game is very forgiving on every difficulty level. It is designed to be very very low-stakes with forgiving mission objectives, frequent autosave points, and essentially no death penalty. Many people start out on Very Hard. Some people do all deliveries on Very Hard and turn it to much easier settings for certain non-delivery story portions. I can almost guarantee that by the time you get to the end of the game, you will want to earn some "LLL" ratings, which are only possible on Very Hard, and you might wish that you had always been getting those "LLL" instead of having to redo various orders.
The quiral red is not enough to built all those structures by myself that's so annoying

When you pretend you have interest in a video game:
@Harold Neto to the burn factory I go. I geab one of those trucks, go on Mule territory, wipe them all out, burn them all. They don't come back. Then this idiot Porters that keep getting ran over, hmmmf. I haven't blasted I've of those yet, but I want to. I almost did at Thomas Sutherland's. Porters got in my way twice. On the ramp, then up on deck. Grrrr. Got out of the truck, grabbed a lethal rifle, waited for them to exit, but they saw I was going to blast em. They went back down the ramp. Never came out. So I went on my way.
Offline more fun and challenging plotting out your own adventure. Only play online if on your second playthrough or want an easier experience.
the point of death strandings online mode is that everyone is helping each other and theres no negative interaction. name a single other game where every online interaction is positive.
@@mildloser2248 People like him and myself enjoy the very hard difficulty on top of the no help from other players, it’s more rewarding, then you can turn online on, give it a shot.
I domt understand does it matter?
Highly subjective. There's a visible difference though. If I knew how many views this would get, I would have edited / illustrated it better!
Or........ You could just go online manage your Strand Contracts properly.
I loved this game for the first 30 hours of play, then I accidentally turned on the online mode and the disinterest to continue playing started. I was more concerned with helping to complete the road linking each area and doing side quests in the process, then I lost all interest in continuing to play the main quest, plus the online mode made the game easy to play as it includes the "help" from the other players. I guess I'm going to start a new game in offline mode from start to finish.
God forbid you pursue the things that interest you. Obviously the roads and helping other players scratched an itch you didn't realize you had. Trying to simply "get through a game" is so counterproductive, once games just get treated like checklist items we have built our own prison
@@fashnek I don't know. Nowadays, so many things occupy my time that I am playing games only for a good story and engaging gameplay. The concept sounds good, but as the other guy said, I left a few titles unfinished as I got distracted by some of the side hustles and ended up losing interest in finishing.

How do you play this game in offline mode? Can't find the option
Turn off "auto-login" from the settings. If you've already started, it won't automatically remove everything. You can remove online things manually from the map... Or just keep playing, new areas will not get online structures if you're not logged in.
