Hello Brooke I've been milking a long time and I just want to give you one piece of advice put your milk stand against the wall it'll make her feel more comfortable and not as frightened
I was going to say the same thing, too. Like right by the door to Mildred's stall. Also, let them in and out that same door. Maybe build a ramp or step to help them get up on it better. And get yourself a chair or stool. QUESTION are you going to give Laura any extra milk you get. I know you can freeze it because that's what zion creek does with his. He says each cube weighs or equals a certain amount that he needs to make his soaps. (He also has beautiful designs.
I was thinking the same as others commented..but I see on Zion he has his milking table where the goats live and they are up and down on it all the time. A ramp would help your back!!🥰🥰
Very true. My Grandpa always made sure that his milk stands for any animal always had one closed in side. He milked over 200 cattle and 50 goats a day for over 25 years, on average.
And a fence on one side so they don’t fall off. They’re clumsy and may lose their balance, fall off one side and break their neck? I’m afraid of everything
I've not raised milking goats, but after just observing them for years, once the goats know the routine, I don't believe a ramp will be necessary. Jumping up on things is what goats do best, and when they understand there will be food, they will not need to be lifted up.
@@Barngirl_26 It was the very first time, and Brooke and Jason were there and Will be there until they would be assured that wouldn't happen, I believe. In a week or so, they will know their parameters.
I think you trained Jason quite well. Lol I was cracking up when Jason acted like he was a goat. You did such a good job. I can’t wait until you start milking goats.❤
I agree, a ramp would help. You also need a collar that you can hold and guide them where you want them to go. I would want the stand against the wall. Love you guys!!!❤
Maybe you should place the stand against the wall to provide a sense of security as your goat stands there. Then a ramp to help them easily get on the stand & prevent you from having to do any heavy lifting. Love you, Jason & Marycarl. Love all your videos, too! God bless & keep you! 🥰🙏
Brooke and Jason, I made a ramp with little cross way boards so they would not slip as they walked up the ramp. They would eagerly run inside to get their treat of a small amount of sweet feed and a little alfalfa and grain. They all 200, k ew the order they were to come in to be milked. The point is to have a ramp so you are not picking them up.
I would put the stand against the wall so you don't have to worry about a goat falling off the side it also helps them feel safer and get straps or a rope to put around their ankles so they don't kick your milk bucket off. Get a ramp to get them up on the stand. You got this!
Love there channel!! Them babie goats are so cute!! Lol And it's actually "WEED 'UM & REAP!" That way they can find it easier! Hope that helps! I hope you have a great day!! 😊😊
I agree with putting the stand next to a wall and a ramp might be a good idea but the girls are used to getting up on the picnic table so maybe a step that is half the height of the stand.
I just watched Roots and Refuge UA-cam, they just got 3 new nannies and one new buckling. You might enjoy watching some of the great tips for new goat owners and some things you may enjoy watching. Brooke you are still my favorite channel, your love and care of your farm family makes my day!
This is exciting that you'll get to use your milking room now. Your goats are just so well-mannered and that's due to all the love and kind care you give them. Sending prayers and love God bless you all❤❤❤
Thank you, Brooke. We love seeing what you're up to. Spreading the love to all your babies, and wildlife. You look great. I hope you're feeling as good as you look. ❤🐐🐦
Wow, Day 1 milkroom training went well...no doubt each subsequent training day will be fined tuned to perfection! ⭐OK, come on Hummers! Thanks Brooke! 😊
Good Morning to everyone at Cog Hill Farms 💕💕💕💕 Sean from Zion Creek Farms has a milking stand......built in ramp and in the head stanshun (sp) has a food basket. Goat eats while getting milked. Also used leg bands for those that kick.
Was going to say a ramp might help but that suggestion has been made numerous times🤭 you're looking awesome Brooke...can't wait to see new kid on the block😍
Good job getting the goats to come in and get up on the stand! You and Jason are a perfect working team. Hope you get hummingbirds soon coming to your feeder.
On weed and reep she starts training her goats to milk them early. She does has a milking machine but has to milk them totally out after. You goats are friendly and calm. Maybe a ramp would help them get on the stand. Great video.
Looking forward to seeing the hummingbirds we dont have them were I'm from. Really enjoyed watching the goats learning to go on the goat stand. Carnt wait watching you milk them. Thanks for sharing Booke really enjoyed the video. ❤
Great trial run, Brook. They will get the hang of it in no time. Look how easy it was for the goats to go to their own stall. Less than a week, which is amazing. Thanks for the video.
I like how you think and work. You have to try things to work out the kinks and do it over and over till the routine becomes natural. Love your videos. You are my favorite channel. Bless you, Jason and MaryCarl. ❤️🌻 Hug your fur babies for me.☀️
Awesome. Thank you for taking us along for another wonderful adventure. I’m so glad you are gaining another goal and dream coming true. It’s so beautiful watching you and the farm grow together. Y’all be good 🥰
I live in Arizona and I have the privilege of seeing and feeding them all year long. I really enjoy watching them and I also have woodpeckers that love my hummingbird feeders I have three two in my backyard and one in my courtyard for my husband to enjoy.
Training for the goats and Jason!😅 Great job Brooke! I know that it isn’t easy for you, but I’m so happy you are doing things you enjoy! Continued blessings and prayers!🤗💖🙏
Hi Brooke and happy Thursday, enjoyed your video today and want to say how anyone can see that you care very much for your animal family! Really pretty farm😊
Hi Brooke. What a fantastic start. It won’t be long and they will be jumping on the stand to get their goodies. The goats did so well on their first attempt. Goats are creatures of habits so they will be following you before you know it. Can’t wait to see the hummingbirds thank you so much for the video and Sharing with us all. Hope you’re feeling ok today take care God Bless. 💕🙏
Good job Brooke and Jason. I’m sure the girls will pick up on their new routine very quickly. Thanks for sharing the humming bird mixture and the great tip about using food coloring. 👍🏽
WOW!!! Is it that time all ready! for those little Hummers to be back!!! I can't wait ! I will do my hummingbird feeder right after I watch your video!!! Last year I put out six hummingbird feeders I would have up to 27 to 56 Hummers at a time heading over and raising Ruckus over those little hummingbird feeders I just love to watch them eat so exciting!!!!!❤❤❤ sending you lots of prayers and hoping hoping the doctor finds out soon what is going on with you!
Brooke, my dad loved leaving food out for the hummingbirds every year when they came back to town. I hope who ever ends up buying this house after it’s remodeled will continue to feed them. I might tell the man that bought the house.
I worked at a KOA in Colorado. I fixed breakfast for the campers. The hummingbirds would come to the deck where people ate and try to get the syrup for the pancakes
Go watch WEED 'UM & REAP!! Thats all they do is goats goats goats! Lol Making babie goats and milking all there goats is all they do! So you would definitely learn a lot from them!! Hope that helps and thanks for sharing Brooke!!
Great job, Brooke! I think it will get easier in time and I wouldn’t be surprised if the goats walk right in to the milk room and jump up on the stand on their own.
We have 1 Nigerian Dwarf and 2 mini Nubian does that are 1 year old this spring. We hope to breed them so we can milk them, so thank you for bringing us on this journey with you!!!
Just a suggestion tell your doctor about the bee stings you had in the summer. I had a friend who was stung badly from his hives and later starting feeling run down a few months later and aching. His doctor when he mentioned it to his doctor when he did his work up and the doctor treated him for an a slow growing parasite infection and it took him a year to get back to normal. Just you may need to mention it to the doctor when you see him next time!
I'm glad the goat training went so well for the first time 🐐❤️ Thank you so much for showing the correct way to make hummingbird food! No food coloring!! ❤️❤️
That was very interesting! Thank you for continuing your content creating and joining Jason, as able, at your pace, your way. 💐 I enjoy you in whatever condition you are willing to be seen in. You always look good in whatever you wear for work or not work; that Ariat shirt was made for you, color and style!
Enjoyed this video. I saw already the two mama goats were already comfortable with you and that’s because you both interact with the goats daily and they trust you. I’m looking forward to your video when you get to start milking the goats.
Hello Brooke and Jason. I have experience with milking goats . May I just suggest to put a ramp so the girls can just walk up on the stand. And put the stand against the wall , it will make them feel safe .. If you would watch Lumanh acres Gina milks with a hand held device. You just pump the hand and it puts the milk in the bottle. So glad you act like you feel better. Prayers for you to feel better and to get answers..God bless❤🙏
Hello Brooke I've been milking a long time and I just want to give you one piece of advice put your milk stand against the wall it'll make her feel more comfortable and not as frightened
I was just gonna say the same thing😂
Brooke needs to a ramp too
I was going to say the same thing, too. Like right by the door to Mildred's stall. Also, let them in and out that same door. Maybe build a ramp or step to help them get up on it better. And get yourself a chair or stool.

Very true. My Grandpa always made sure that his milk stands for any animal always had one closed in side. He milked over 200 cattle and 50 goats a day for over 25 years, on average.
You desperately need a ramp on the milking stand, then Brooke can lead them up without lifting them. 🥰❤️
And a fence on one side so they don’t fall off. They’re clumsy and may lose their balance, fall off one side and break their neck? I’m afraid of everything
If you're going to train them, you need to make it easy! Get a ramp so you can lead them up instead of lifting them!!!
I've not raised milking goats, but after just observing them for years, once the goats know the routine, I don't believe a ramp will be necessary. Jumping up on things is what goats do best, and when they understand there will be food, they will not need to be lifted up.

Maybe a ramp would make it easier for the girls to get up on the stand. Good job girls for it being your first time on the stand! ❤❤
And side rails so they can’t move sideways-great first attempt-shows how much they trust you
That's what I was thinking also. Ankle straps may not be needed if the goats get used to the process.
A delight. Whatever your body is feeling, your spirit is shining, Brooke.
I think you trained Jason quite well. Lol I was cracking up when Jason acted like he was a goat. You did such a good job. I can’t wait until you start milking goats.❤
😂😂😅
I agree, a ramp would help. You also need a collar that you can hold and guide them where you want them to go. I would want the stand against the wall. Love you guys!!!❤
Yes, Brook & Jason, you need a ramp for your milking goats to walk on up.
I was thinking same thing
U need a ramp n possibly non slip pad on stand so they don't slip off
Great training session! Our hummers won’t be here for awhile.
I was thinking a step at the end
I never needed a ramp for my goats.
Maybe you should place the stand against the wall to provide a sense of security as your goat stands there. Then a ramp to help them easily get on the stand & prevent you from having to do any heavy lifting. Love you, Jason & Marycarl. Love all your videos, too! God bless & keep you! 🥰🙏

You got this!
Came here to say that. Also, maybe bring them in the same door as they went out.
And maybe make it a little WIDER
How about a ramp to get the goats 🐐 I also ?
Weep em reep milks goats.. can get good tips there.. definitely need a ramp.. thanks for posting . Love you guys
Love there channel!! Them babie goats are so cute!! Lol And it's actually "WEED 'UM & REAP!" That way they can find it easier! Hope that helps! I hope you have a great day!! 😊😊
They’re called Weed ‘em & Reap. They get their advice from Blue Cactus Dairy. They are really good too.
Would a more solid base for the stand make the goat's feel more secure
I agree with putting the stand next to a wall and a ramp might be a good idea but the girls are used to getting up on the picnic table so maybe a step that is half the height of the stand.
Great trial run Brooke! The goats did really well. Your Hummers are going to be so happy with the sugar water! Have a wonderful day!💕
I love how Biscuit is getting you to pet her. My cat does the same thing.😻
Biscuit is so floofy and lovable. She definitely loves both you and Jason petting her. Such a sweet girl. 💜
Hi Booke Yes a ramp would make things so much easier for yourselves and the goats I am looking forward to see you master this you are a great lady x
Brooke, think about putting puppy pads or paper under the milk stand to catch droppings.
Good idea. I have found those pet peepee pads are handy for many uses
I just watched Roots and Refuge UA-cam, they just got 3 new nannies and one new buckling. You might enjoy watching some of the great tips for new goat owners and some things you may enjoy watching. Brooke you are still my favorite channel, your love and care of your farm family makes my day!

Good Morning Brooke and Jason!! ☕️ I think the Goats will do fine!! ❤❤❤
I am no goat farmer, but it seems like a ramp would take the goats right up there. They are pretty big animals! Thank you Brooke for sharing!
I'm glad the goat training went so well for the first time 🐐❤️
Thank you so much for showing the correct way to make hummingbird food! No food coloring!! ❤️❤️

Love the video today. I see your picture of the Newlyweds. Great place for them. I'm glad you like it!
A ramp for the goats to walk on to the stand would be helpful. I'm sure Jason can build something. great new adventure. The biscuits are a hit.
Yayyyy I'm so proud of the girls they did so good on the stand .
God Bless y'all 💯 ❤ 🙏 🇺🇲
Hello Brooke and Jason. I have experience with milking goats . May I just suggest to put a ramp so the girls can just walk up on the stand.
