Yay I guessed right. The highs on Valeton sounded slightly compressed, different high frequency seem to have the exact same dynamics and decay. While on the real one, different high frequencies seem to have their own dynamics characteristic. Kinda like the 2K got different sustain & decay compared to the 3K, also different with 4 etc. I wouldn't really judge just by clarity because in digital world sometimes the problem is things are too clear. Which could be a good thing, but it could also mean certain frequency is too much while also lacking overtones/richness/harmonic. Or in this case the compressed sound might make the sound seems more exciting and that tricked our ear to think that it's the better sound and guessed that it's the real thing.
valeton really nailed in this one.soo close..i also thought a is the real amp..great job valeton n mr.gibson..if the ambient effects are better than pod go,then i'm definitely gonna buy this one.
I'd love to see this thing put to test against line 6 pod go. I'm considering buying one of these, considering that valeton is substantially cheaper than line 6, this should be interesting.
I got them right, but I had to listen to it a couple of times and really concentrate, they are really close. The real deal sounds a bit more full and not so sharp when you hit the high strings, but I think this would be virtually indistinguishable in a mix.
It was kinda tricky cause usually amp sims sound more muffled but this time I guessed that the real Soldano isn't as EQ-ed and saturated as the sim (I recognized it by its natural dirt). Btw I own GP100. Is there a huge difference with the sound quality between GP200?
Waiting for your intensive review of the unit. none on the internet so far. Some only just unboxing and playing around for a bit. By the way, the A & B sound almost the same. But B sounded with a bit more presence to it.
Hi, thank you! We have to wait the end of the Embargo / the official launch date...it's pretty soon... Thank you for your message and for sharing your opinion!
It doesn't matter which is which. I listened with studio headphones and they pretty much sounded identical My bad the Soldano cost 10X more so I guess it does matter. 😳
Cant tell which one is the real when you are strumming, but the single notes sounds more natural (0:40 ~ 0:42) in the B (real one I guess) I still prefer the A. Maybe just the settings, but i think it has more gain.
You got it....and please notice that I have used the same setting between the valeton and the real Soldano....so I have not tried to match the tones...As regards availability we have to wait....maybe the chip shortage is gonna affect also this product...nevertheless the office launch date is pretty close....
Hi James....thank you for sharing your opinion! Actually I still have to do a direct comparison...my guess so far is that the modeling algorithms are the same, as both Ampero and Valeton belongs to the same company...not sure about effect...interesting topic...thank you!
I really don't know how to answer this since I'm not familiar with Soldano. My ears only hears A doesn't have low end. The treble is more or less the same. So I'm guessing B is the real amp. It's just pure luck my guess is right. The situation with amp sim vs real amp is actually similar with early days of digital vs analog camera. When digital camera first came, people thought it wasn't as good as analogue one. Technology keeps improving. Nowadays people accept both technology are different and each has its pros and cons. I'm still waiting for the day when amp sim doesn't try to replicate any tube amp and it can be accepted as an alternative to tube amp. Guitarist can choose amp sim or tube amp based on their needs. Not because one is better than the other.
Well I think Neural is on a path to create digital plugin amps that have no match in the real world, not trying to "model" anything but creating something completely new.
This time i liked A , as it sounded with a bit of more clarity. With such a subtle, even imaginary difference though. Maybe B was a bit more "solid", with the same-like measure. But hey I went wrong this time)) Seems, with this model, it`s mostly just your EQ to evaluate how the _recorded_ sound will become. Those are really close, both A and B ;)
I´ll go with A is the real thing, cause (the other way then my former "Joop") I hope that the real thing has more brilliance. At least, both sounded a bit "wish washy" at the "end chords"
Old tin ears here guessed A as the real amp. lol there you go !! I could've sworn the notes "bounced" and sounder thicker a bit more from A ..........shows what I know ha ha
Funny because a lot professional musicans play on fractal or kemper. That "real feel" in Fractal and Kemper its great and now only in studio its make sense when you want all details add to your song. My Brother play on bass with helix in famous jazz band :D Solution for guitarists changing and now is a lot easier and cheaper have great tone on stage.
There's no substitute for having a real amp and speaker pushing air around the room, vibrating the walls etc, though of course that depends on the kind of music you're playing. Digital pedals like this one are mostly meant for powering headphones or recording/home studio use though, not so much for live gigs. And there are plenty of guitarists out there who never play live. :)

@@zoomosis you understand that you can also use a large speaker with digital units to push as much air as you like, right?
Here you can find my full demo review of the GP 200: ua-cam.com/video/_v5S5oN_Kz8/v-deo.html
Wooo... sounds even closer than the Neural DSP SLO-100 plugin.
Ridiculously impressive at this price point!
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I also guessed Unit A as the "real" amp. This thing sounds good. Can't wait for the full review! God bless and rock on 🎸😎👍
Thank you for sharing....I'm also very impatient to share my review!!!
For me ... the tones are so close ... it just doesn't matter. It's an amazing time in the world of modelers. (they all sound good.)
Hi David...I do agree...we are lucky! 😊
I'm gonna go with real Soldano on B here. A seems to be missing some low end. It sounds good though!
well...you've got it! 👍

They both sounded great !!! Anyone know a rough idea of price for the 200?
Hi, around 350$

Hi, yes, Valeton vs POD GO is interesting....😀👍
I'd say B is the real Soldano. There's just a little pinch of more dynamics, but I may be mistaken. The sounds are incredible close.
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I got them right, but I had to listen to it a couple of times and really concentrate, they are really close.
The real deal sounds a bit more full and not so sharp when you hit the high strings, but I think this would be virtually indistinguishable in a mix.

Instant like for this vid.
Thank you!
I think A sounded better because of more clarity.
I think I heard some digital artifacts in B which is odd, but might be due to UA-cam compression.
Hi Leo, thank you for sharing your opinion and your findings!
That was really good 👍🏻
Thank you so much!
I'd guess B but Anyway.... They both sound great.
To be honest... I like a little bit more the A just because more Clear...😂
Good Job Valeton!
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I think the B is Soldano. It has better low end more defined highs which I prefer. If it's digital modeler I am impressed then.
Thank you for sharing....right guess....👍🏻

Hi Steve, thank you for sharing your findings!
I'm guessing "A" is the real Soldano for its clarity.
😊

I still prefer the A. Maybe just the settings, but i think it has more gain.
Hi, thank you for sharing! Here I'm using the exact same settings for both the amp and the modelers....tweacking you can even get closer...
they both sound great, but how does the digital one feel playing it?
More on that topic in future videos...😊👍🏻
B is the real Soldano. But A sound nearly exactly the same! Waiting to try out this unit, but Thomann lists it as available in some months (!!) 😩
You got it....and please notice that I have used the same setting between the valeton and the real Soldano....so I have not tried to match the tones...As regards availability we have to wait....maybe the chip shortage is gonna affect also this product...nevertheless the office launch date is pretty close....
My guess is real is B. Smoother top end. But they are close. Now I'm wondering about GP 200 vs Ampero II Stomp.
Hi James....thank you for sharing your opinion! Actually I still have to do a direct comparison...my guess so far is that the modeling algorithms are the same, as both Ampero and Valeton belongs to the same company...not sure about effect...interesting topic...thank you!
B is the Valeton sim?
Hi Jesu...not exactly....😊
rig A sounded a bit more "wide" with a stereo feel to it.
Thank you for sharing...interesting highlight....May I say, it sounds more tridimensional?
I really don't know how to answer this since I'm not familiar with Soldano. My ears only hears A doesn't have low end. The treble is more or less the same. So I'm guessing B is the real amp. It's just pure luck my guess is right.

Whichever is the real one, they are so close it doesn't matter much any more. I wonder how it compares to the GP-100?
Hi, thank you for sharing...good point...If I have time I will check it out.
Thank you!
How bout doin a side by side with the dual rec.
Hi, I'm sorry but I have not understood the question, could you please explain?
Thanks!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Hi i meant doin a comparasion of the gp 200 dual rec model against a real mesa dual rec.
Damn close!
Yes, I agree..
There is difference between both ones but honestly I Haven't been able to classify wich is one and wich is another. Both are very good...

Hi Sergey, thank you for sharing your opinions!!!
Definitely B, there is some punch/low end that’s missing in A. Maybe it can be corrected with some tweaking .
Hi, thank you for sharing!
i know SLO sound bit muddy but it just right so i got Hit on first try when you provide Isolated sound
Hi, thank you for sharing!
I choose B. To my ears A sounded a bit weak.
HI, thank you for sharing!
Ha ha happy new year!
As for blind test, only Soldano
user can hear the difference.
Same as the difference between
the vintage guitar and cheap one.
Hi, happy new year to you too, and thank you for sharing your opinion!
I thought that A was better and hence, the original. I'm glad I was wrong.
Thank you for sharing!
🔥❤️ Valeton
😀
Parameters r same for both ?
Yes, exactly. I have not matched the sounds....just the same settings...
@@LeoGibsonGtr it sounds very nice

Hi, thank you for sharing!
Whichever is the real one - I prefer the sound of A 🙂
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion!
Wow, I thought A was Soldano. Nice.
Thank you!!!
A is the most lively sounding, must be the Soldano (?) - Wow, I was wrong!!
😊👍🏻
How much is the valeton?
Hi, it should be around 350$.
Thanks!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Thanks a lot my friend :) I love your videos and your playing is amazing :)
Thank you, super appreciated!!!
I thought to the Soldano was A due to more top end
Hi, thank you for sharing!
A is set with way more gain than B, so it’s a bit unfare
Hi, here I'm using the same settings for both the unit...I'm not tweaking....
A sounds better to me but it doesn't mean it's a correct answer😁
😀👍

isn't this a 350 dollar pedal? That is insane it sounds this good.
Yes, 350$....
Thank you for your message!
I don't know but, to my ears B sounds way better.
*much better ... something like that haha
😊👍🏻
Ill guess A
mmm...try again...😀
caraca, preferi o som da Valeton
Thank your for sharing!
a sounds a bit more open and real.
Hi Michael, thank you for sharing your opinion!
B is the GP 200
Wow wrong

B
😊
I thought A was the real amp and B the SIM .... However .....
Hi Raph, thank you for sharing!
oooo my god.....I think the real sound was A.....

😊👍🏻
"A" Real Soldando...
impressed with valeton, good sound... Happy new year Leo!!!
Happy new year to you too!!! Thank you for sharing!
A sounds better to me
Thank you for sharing!
Not bab, Valeton, but: when you on stage, tube amp and cab give you real feel. Digital processing - no.
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion. I'm curious: were you able to find out which was the real Soldano?
Thank you!
