Thanks Andrew. I also use an alcohol lamp with dental picks in my wax work. I have a few other favorite tools for wax such as a speedball carving knife used for linocut.

    Hi Andrew,
I just came across your channel and love how easy you explained all the tools. My question is that I am learning mold making and want to use wax as a sealer which other people use. I need to know what to use as a wax applicator to seal the objects that I will be making the molds out of to prevent leaks. I tried the wax max pen but that broke right off. I am also using museum wax for that, maybe that's the wrong wax.
    Thank you so much

I have been fascinated by jewelry for years but never had the time to have a go. So this Video was great. I want to make an L sized in 9ct gold. So could I just carve it in wax and then try and cast it myself. There are no courses locally. Where would I purchase the materials.

Hi Andrew, great video. I'm wanting to make a pendant from scratch but because it's quite complex I've made the first mock up by cutting and sticking layers of card together to make my basic 3d shape and am then going to make a mould, in either plaster of silicon. Is it possible to then melt jewellers wax into the mould? The reason I want to do this is so I can have a rough version of my pendant in the wax that I can then refine instead of carving the wax from scratch.
