Practice and get a vocal coach. Dima does growls and you need proper training for growls, distortions, fries, grunts, screams, and more to prevent damaging your vocal cords.

The pitch, the rock genre it has taken on, it just brings on the mood of someone who's struggling to be themselves and becoming a copycat, which the original was unable to achieve to in my opinion.

Oh man. I came across Dima by chance and only pointed out a lyric error for the Cover of Chaos Drifters, but now I listen regularly.
But even with this being three years old, I find myself singing along. Deliberately a little off at first, but I then try to synch up to match how it's being sung to keep with the feel of the song. I'm surprised I haven't seen a duet cover that does that *very same* approach for this song.
