Very pleasant video, in lots of ways. The music is also wonderful and let me relax and enjoy your build. I can see why Pete was so pleased with your gift. I've now subscribed.
Damn that's good!! I've been looking forward to seeing this one and I was not disappointed. The wheels look awesome Watching you do the print drawing I thought "yep, I got no chance of doing THAT" I wish I could mind you because if you can master it as you have the possibilities are endless. I'm surprised you didn't have the doors and boot open on it and detail up the engine even more. It's still top notch as it is though. Thanks for sharing it with you us mate👍
Thanks......The doors are moulded with the body so would be a lot of work to make openable. The boot and bonnet do open though and detailing the engine was considered but I ran out of time with this one👍
@@CWModellingthe extra work would have been nothing to a man of your calibre, you could have done it with your left hand while you were cooking tea with your right hand 😂😂
Great job on this build! It's more than clear you owned (or at least been around) classic VW beetles. I also planned on adding the black gasket around the fenders. I like the solution you came up with. I get so jealous of other Modelers that not only HAVE a 3D resin printer but, are able to CREATE their own model parts. Again, great job.
Absolutely brilliant job. We’ve already spoken on FB about the car but I just wanted to say absolutely inspired to do one myself and loved the wing beading, superb. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Fantastic CW!! I learned to drive in a VW Beetle, and love the cars!! Your build for your friend is such a great thing, and another great building lesson for the rest of us!!!
I saw the thumbnail and figured you were taking a break from a hectic build schedule and tackling a simpler project? I should have known better! Great attention to detail, turned out amazing! No doubt your friend/co-worker will love it! 👍
spectacular little car, i build the dinosaur cars of the 50s and 60s, have a couple of bugs in my rather large stash, but i never have built one, i have a couple of crazy ideas for paint, but am wondering how to lower the front axle, and slightly raise the rear a little, but then how to get the rear wheels to sit right when i do, then, there is finding someone who makes a shrunk down version of about a four foot stinger exhaust to fit that model and look right, dang it, that is why i havent built mine yet, i see a vw bug as a crazy custom machine,, i was a child in the 70s, i absolutelyl love them in classic form too.
Getting the fender welts in was a nice detail. On the VW I had in the '60s they were painted over in the body color but it was a later year and might have been repainted besides (it was used).
Very nice build and video. I have the same kit and am thinking about converting in to a utility vehicle like an El Camino. I will move the engine and rear wheel and axle to the front and move the front wheel and axle to the back
Great video and very helpful, I’ve just bought a beetle kit nearly 45 yrs after my last model as a way of distressing after work. Kit arrives today and your video has opened my eyes . I assume that was cotton that you used for the door lines ? Thanks again I look forward to watching more of your videos and have subscribed
Very nice build. I am building the same kit but it is my first kit in 45 years so I'm learning from you. How did you get that chrome finish on the bumpers? It looks so real.
Hi! A bit late on this but could you tell me how you did the engine lid? I know the kit has a different license plate light from 1966 but you modified it to be from 1963.
Hi.......the engine lid is from the kit but I removed the original light housing and fashioned a new 'popes nose' made from a piece of plastic sprue and glued it on.....as shown at the start of the video👍
AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR A BIT OF SELF ENJOYMENT VERY HAPPY TOO SEE THE 3D COME IN HANDY .
I’m doing the same build and this gave me inspiration, thank you!

Nice video, yes it doesn't always have to be tanks. I have similar ideas. I like your beetle. Greetings from beautiful Hamburg .... Max
Superb. Absolutely superb. Got one of these kits in the stash (just waiting to be Herbie-fied) so it's brilliant to see one being built-up
The trick with the bay wipes is a game changer. Amazing work as always, sir
I've used tissue paper and baby wipes for textiles. While the tissue paper has more delicate texture, the baby wipes are much easier to work with 👍
Damn that's good!!

Awesome build!
Pure art !
Masterpiece and great work as always!!! The talents, care and efforts you put into the videos is incredible!! Keep it up.

Good job, they should sell the 3D resin pope’s nose option, I don't know where to get it.
Thats amazing!
Cool!!!! 👍😍

Cool, enjoy.....the wing beading was a nylon thread, cotton would be too fluffy I suspect👍
@@CWModelling great thanks

Cool.....I used a chrome marker pen from Ebay as shown in the video👍
VERY well done but where did you get those RIMS
The video shows how I 3D printed them👍
"Pope's nose" ... hahahahaha 😂😂😂
No, serious - great work...!
Great build! Are the wheel hub stl files available to download and use?
Sorry they're not as this was a one off build for a friend👍

🤝👍
awesome job. Which software did you use for modelling?
Thanks.......Its the CAD software I use at work, Vectorworks👍
I made a quick tutorial on how to create the carpets on civilian vehicles, you might find it interesting for your builds.
How can i get Some off your rims ???
😉👌
Where did you get the custom deck lid nose piece from??
I made it 👍
Nice, could you teach me??
I've been trying to figure out how to do that for the deck lid on my tamiya vw bug
@@DriftAllDay63vw It was just a piece of plastic sprue from a kit shaped with a knife and a file until it looked right 👍
Technically well built and painted but seriously not my cup of tea. When are you going bck to some nice armor 😂
Outstanding
