    Thanks Ham for the fantastic video. I wanted to update with my experience. I know how difficult it was finding the answers to this question.
    I recently bought the CSL DD during black friday sales (couldn't justify the extra price for the GT DD Pro). Ideally I wanted a setup that would be compatible with PC, PS5 and XSX.
    I have the Mclaren V2 wheel, the clubsport shifter SQ V1.5 the CSL ELite V2 pedals.
    With my PS5, I basically just wanted to play GT7 in PSVR2 with the setup. So I bought the drive hub AND NACON Wired controller to go with it.
    With a PS4 you DON'T need to plug a 3rd party controller, you can just plug in the ps4 dualshock controller and it works fine. With a PS5 you need to plug in a secondary 3rd PARTY controller (hori mini wired controller is what everyone recommends). If you plug in a normal dualshock or dualsense controller, it'll only work for about 7-10mins before disconnecting everything. The Hori Mini Controller in my local area is stupidly expensive for some reason in my local area and I took a chance with the Nacon Wired Playstation controller for cheap. That works perfectly and the disconnects don't happen. I've played for 4 hours straigh with zero issues.
    THe CSL DD motor itself will have to be run in compatibility mode (yellow light). You probably also saw online that you have to run the WHEEL in 'Fana-Logic' mode (Mode 2 which simulates a Logitech G29 in GT7), otherwise the game 'slows down and loses frame'. THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE after you update teh drivehub. . You can run it in the MUCH BETTER 'Fanatec' (Mode 1 which simulates a CSL DD Pro Wheel).They fixed it with an update and now you can get the much better feedback that comes with 'Fanalogic' mode without losing time or performance.
    Conclusion the drivehub with a Nacon wired controlelr/Hori Mini Controller works PERFECTLY with a CSL DD on GT7 with a PS5 in fanalogic mode. I can't compare it to the FFB you'll get with a DD GT Pro, but for the difference in money, i'd say it's worth it. My setup with the CSL DD, mclaren wheel, pedals and shifter + drivehub/nacon controller will work with everything now (PC< PS5 and Series X). It was also MUCH cheaper than buying the GT DD Pro.
    If you're thinking about taking the plunge, I say do it, especially if you can save a good chunk of change.

      @@vbxileyv9779 yes you do. The good thing is you don't need a separate 3rd party controller with the ps4 (unlike the ps5). You can just plug your normal dualshock into the controller USB port on the drivehub for the security bypass.

    Awesome video. Sim racing noob here, on the DD pro with 5nm, do you feel the curbs and shifts through the wheel like you do on the controller?

    • @HamVR
      @HamVR  2 роки тому +3

      Hi yes you can feel track texture, curbs, weight shifts, tractions loss (this varies car to car) when steering goes light on the GT DD Pro. On the PS5 (not PS4) controller the adaptive triggers are very good where the accelerator and brake triggers adjust in stiffness and vibration according to load. I don't recall getting ABS haptics on wheelbase like you do on the controller, so that's plus one to the controller. Overall though, I would say you can be much more precise with your inputs on a wheelbase compared controller though. Keep in mind if you've used controllers for many years it will probably take you a few weeks to get use to wheelbase and pedals unless you've done a lot of driving in RL.

    Any recommended FF settings in CSL DD + 8NM w Drive Hub to get it as close as possible with the native GT DD Pro feel?

    • @HamVR
      @HamVR  2 роки тому +4

      I was using this with my CSL DD + 8nm setup on drive hub v2.0.8 Beta 8
      SEN: 900 (adjust depending on car)
      FF: 100
      FFS: PEAK
      NDP: 38
      NFR: OFF
      NIN: OFF
      INT: 2
      FEI: 100
      FOR: 100
      SPR: 100
      DPR: 100
      In game I had feedback strength 4 and sensitivity 3. You could try boosting in game settings to 5 and 4. I think the main difference is the refresh rate, the GT DD Pro native refresh rate is 250Hz via direct connection to PlayStation. I don't know for sure, but I think Drive Hub is running a lower refresh rate.

    Update: In the video tested with Drive Hub 2.0.8 Beta 8 Firmware. I've since tested with 2.0.8 Beta 9 and I can confirm that it now detects the wheelbase as GT DD Pro rather than CSL Elite and shows the official GT7 wheel picture. However the coloured thumbstick buttons on of the official GT7 wheel (with Fanatec Firmware 6 & 7) still don't appear to work. In the GT7 wheel Firmware 7 you can now select your own custom FFB profiles in native PlayStation mode. I also compared the same custom FFB profile via Drive Hub and native to the PS5, and they feel completely diffferent. Drive Hub feeback friction felt 2x higher than GT DD Pro native using the exact same wheelbase FFB settings. Therefore trying to compare these using the same wheelbase FFB settings doesn't really make sense IMO.

      Because the native dd1 playstation version sold out everywhere , then i purchase the dd1 with the drivehub 2 month ago , it works perfect . Just curious does it worth to spend another 1800 for the native F1 Wheel for PS5 .

      @@CGC0.1 if you play a lot of PlayStation driving games and you have Fanatec pedals it might be worth the swap if you can sell your DD1 for good money. If you mostly play PC, probably not. You said the FFB of the DD pro vs CSLDD/Drivehub felt completely different with same settings and mention friction.
      Do you mean the drivehub is amplifying the signal strength only? Or are details different as well? We’re you able to tune both wheels to drive properly and it’s simply a need to tweak settings, or is the drivehub signal worse overall and in need of updates.

    I have a DD2 + HEpro through drivehub. Wondering if a DD1PS4 will be a better option, then to use the pedals I still need to plug the wheel through drivehub, and the wheel in the controller port (following drivehub wizard) . Will FFB be passed through, as the wheel was directly connected to the PS4/PS5 ? Or is it possible to have only pedals through drivehub ?

    • @HamVR
      @HamVR  Рік тому +1

      I tried this a while back. Drive Hub is seen by GT7 as one device and you can't split wheel and pedal input between two different devices (as far as I can figure). If you plug a PlayStation compatible wheelbase into DriveHub it will still re-emulate it, rather than pass through direct wheel control. So switching your DD2 to DD1PS4 won't be worth it unless you use Fanatec pedals that plug into the wheelbase and ditch Drive Hub altogether.

    Any update on which fw works best? I have a csl dd with wrc wheel and am getting wheel wobble if the wheel is perfectly centered. I think the latest fw for the drivehub is 2.09 and there was a 2.10 beta. They all had wheel wobble. My wheel also shows up as a g29. Tried the compatibility and pc mode. Nothing seems to get rid of it.

      If I remember from lat time I tried it was the FEI setting that was giving me the most wobble. Try turning that down. I've tried the very latest firmware though, I might check this out again soon.

      @@HamVR ok thanks I also messaged drivehub to see what fw they suggest. Do they give any info out on what each fw includes?

      @@freshane hi, wondering if you have any update on this? I am planning to get a DriveHub for GT7, does any update fixes the wheel being other better wheel than G29?

      Hey I didn't really look into it too much since then I kind of just dealt with the wobble. It might be slowing the car down when it does that cause your having to keep it slightly turned so it's not perfectly straight. It only wobbles when the wheel is perfectly dead center. I recently got a psvr2 and was getting the wobble when I tried it. I was on the newest beta fw. I'll have to mess with it a bit and find out which fw works. I did email them and they said to try fw 2.10.1-beta 2. Can't remember which one I was on.

    My Drivehub stopped working with my CSL dd. Hori pad and wheel completely freeze up after 10 seconds of driving.. Super shit

      Ah man.. Have you tried reflashing the firmware to another version. Also could it be a bad Hori controller.

    You should really be more structured when doing a comparison/review. That plus a proper final conclusions. Watched twice and I still have no clue what is better, at what comparable settings, 5nm vs 8nm, your criteria for measurement or the pros/cons of each. Remember, the DriveHub was part of the solution, but wasn't covered.
    One more point of feedback; If you are presenting as a competent reviewer, please don't turn on track aids. If you know this game well enough to review the tech, you don't need them and you lose credibility with the viewers.

      Thanks for your feedback. I don't dwell on Drive Hub very much here since I have covered this in a previous video here ua-cam.com/video/YyrW5kenc6k/v-deo.html The reason this video is unstructured is due to the nature of it being purely before and after game play commentary. I wasn't sure if I was going to use the video footage, however a few people have asked me how they compare and I felt the footage helped attempt answer that question. Yes Drive Hub is good, but the GT DD Pro feels like it has cleaner and more immediate feedback. In the video I also comment on other aspects of the setup that I thought viewers might also be interested in i.e. the GT7 specific wheel rim buttons (that don't work with Drive Hub), the different power packs 8nm v 5nm with the GT wheel rim and compatability with accessories (e.g. gear shifter and handbrake). The track assist were left on from previous races on tracks I don't know very well.
      In terms of comparable FFB settings the game was set to FFB 10 and Sentivity 3 when using the 5nm powerpack. The GT DD Pro wheelbase FFB was set to 'A-Set' which is as the game developer intended and is a unique setting on GT DD Pro for GT7. The CSL DD is using my best CSL DD settings (100 FFB Strength) I use for ACC on the PC. Since I can't determine the 'A-Set' settings I thought it would have been pointless to go through my ACC settings for the CSL DD.

      Track aids …are you serious 😂 you should be looking at driving aids, which affect the driving and fbb, ABS, TCS are the norm for most sim racers, with steering aid twcs off.
      He says he likes the game not know it, most people use track aids until they get to know the track.
