Those pesky goat heads are called sand spurs in the east, especially in Florida. Everything seems to be coming along on the truck. You might want to spay some undercoating on the bolts sticking out the bottom. Love the sign and I'm glad the USPS found it. Keep having fun, from Salome, AZ.
Totally ran one of those Sears chargers for years myself. Made the transition to a few battery tenders a few years ago.

Well I’m glad you ended up trying it and it worked for you!!! I see guys out here all the time having the same issues and I am always giving them the simple how to fix the door closing issues!!! I remember back in the early 90's Building my 75 Squarebody I was wondering if fliping the shackles would work, looks like it works good and someone must offer a kit. Cool

You should look at the militarized version they have tow hooks that go thru the front bumper and attach to the frame and are stout.

You made me look, nothing available in my area. I did find a nice set of front brackets from Engineered Vintage, I might get those for now.
Either way if your going to do tubed bumpers then when you pull that front one off you can really decide what you want to do I can send you a pic of what i have.

Clean the tops of the batteries. A bunch of dirt and grime can cause a slow parasitic drain between the terminals.
My parents house is in Valmeyer IL. Those goat heads are in their yard. They suck. You can't take your dog there because they stick in the dogs feet.
